“Jesse Benton was Fired from C4L, Ron Paul is Very Upset”

High Level contacts from within Ron Paul’s inner circle who have disclosed on a condition of anonymity, that “Jesse Benton was actually fired from C4L and stole all the lists (C4L, RP12, LPAC) before he left. Ron Paul is very upset.”

So what,

What good is the list going to do? Who does he think we are Romney supporters?

Just go about your business and forget about that guy.

Mailing lists are valuable commercial

properties and can be rented for big bucks. There is also the annoyance and over-use factor if he uses them to send a lot of GOP propaganda to Liberty people.

By the way....I have been

By the way....I have been getting e-mails from Mitt Romney campaign asking for donations ??????

because all that RNC money isnt enough.

Dear Jesse,

[sweat, flinch]
You don't need to be a cry baby about it.
[sweat profusely, look behind back, act interested]
Uh huh...yeah...uh huh...just don't go out a be a cry baby, okay?
[sweating, stinking, adjust Kevlar vest, act interested]
Okay then, just don't talk to the media and quit being such a big cry baby, okay?
[beeline for a/c, scrub hands, remove vest, change clothes, and go listen to the real GOP]

Totally unsubstantiated...

...internet rumor that supports existing irrational hatred of Jesse Benton? Check.

Immediate acceptance of this rumor as the gospel truth by all the anti-Benton partisans? Check.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

There is more than enough evidence for people to RATIONALLY

dislike or even hate the guy, without this claim. This just throws fuel on the fire if true. Your title still stands though, this rumor is still totally unsubstantiated. I'm sure more details will come forward in the coming days to debunk or confirm these rather hefty claims.

"There is more than enough evidence for people to RATIONALLY dislike or even hate the guy, without this claim."

I don't see rational criticism of Benton's mistakes as the basis of the anti-Benton sentiment. I remember the exact day when the anti-Benton sentiment really come into its own: it was the day the campaign announced that victory was mathematically impossible. From that instant forward, a huge mass of people (people who did not understand that victory had indeed become mathematically impossible) started coming up with all kinds of wild-eyed conspiracy theories about Benton being a traitor and conspiring with Romney/Priebus/insert-enemy. For all those people who did not (and still do not) understand why we had lost, Benton became the scapegoat.

It makes me very sad. Paulites failing to understand the source of our problems, and finding a scapegoat in Benton (it could have been anyone, it just happened to settle on Benton) reminds of the supporters of every mainstream politician. They can;t think, so they get angry and find a scapegoat, and then Daddy-politician promises to make that boogeyman go away. It is obvious to me that we as a movement are not nearly so intellectually superior to our counterparts as we like to believe.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

I don't know how long you've been around,

Im not knocking you if you havent been around, thats fine, I'm just reviewing history, but if you were around or paying attention during Ron's 2008 run or Rand's 2010 run, both of which run by Benton, you would have saw Benton making mistake after mistake, gaffe after gaffe, arrogance after arrogance, dismissal of grassroots efforts after dismissal. Whether through incompetence, deliberate sabotage or just being a douchy person, his actions and inactions have been fueling the fires against him and his mismanagement for a long time. Sure the concession letter may have ratcheted up the ire quite significantly but was definitely not the instigating incident nor why so many are off put by Mr. Benton. In fact many had chose to over look his past mistakes, gave him the benefit of the doubt and even courageously defended him amidst the barbs and arrows.

But each new straw Benton placed broke another camel's back in this movement. Those trying to remain level headed about it all and even defending Jesse finally had enough and felt betrayed. Some who had kept quiet about their animosity toward Benton for the good of the campaign, could also no longer remain silent and voiced their disgust. This is probably what you witnessed after that letter. People who were willing to overlook Benton's short comings finally having enough and coming out of the woodwork.

After this latest piece of information I don't believe there are many camels left with unbroken backs. Jesse joining up with McConnell did it for a lot of people. That crossed a line and showed Benton's true colors. Now if this rumor turns out to be true about his firing and attempted theft of lists I predict there will be some major repercussions and shake ups in the liberty movement and that you have not seen vitriol yet. In fact the response I've seen is remarkably reserved so far due to lack of concrete indicting evidence and sources. When the facts come out hopefully we can regroup reorganize and refocus. Purge any corruption intransparency or obstruction that may have crept into the movement or at least the upper levels of Ron Paul's organizations.

Benton WAS fired

and he WAS caught downloading lists. That is a fact from inside the campaign. I may not can give you a source but I don't lie. Fact: Benton's stock had been going down however as contributions begun to dry up and many donors citing that Jessee Benton was the reason. Speculation: I personally believe that Benton was shopping around with Ron's blessing because (not Speculation)funds had begun to dry up and Ron finally realized that Jesse was hurting C4L. (speculation: Rand probably made the intro for Benton with Ron's blessing. I think Jesse had bragged to Mitch that he could bring the list and as crooked at Mitch is, he had no problem taking a pirated list. Then at the last minute Jesse had to get that list some how and was caught downloading it. This last part is not speculation. It is a fact that he was fired and was caught downloading the list.

Texas Liberty Lady

So your saying Jesse

So your saying Jesse committed a potential felony, to steal e-mail addresses of Ron Paul supporters? Most the other info is public right?

Also, this is not a "fact". It's a claim by an anonymous source, who may or may not be telling the truth. Also, it seems unlikely that he'd be "caught" downloading a list he probably already had.

"That is a fact from inside the campaign."

A fact? O goodie, so you have some kind evidence then?

"I may not can give you a source but I don't lie."

...yes, anonymous members of internet forums never ever lie or make things up, that's like a rule and stuff. /sarc

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

the source of this is libertychat people

So why did RP write that nice little addendum

to Benton's resignation letter?

In the words of George Carlin....

....holy jumpin f-in $hitballs! Are you kidding me?

How much of a moronic rube does one have to be to accept this asinine explanation? It would be plausible to say that Ron Paul avoided mentioning a betrayal from within his staff, for PR reasons. It is INSANE to suggest that he would actively promote such a traitor. There are two options here, either this explanation is correct and Ron Paul is stone cold F-in nuts, or this explanation is wrong and the people offering it are stone cold f-in nuts. Take your pick peanut gallery.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

"Alright, former employee...

You stole from me and screwed up my business with your incompetence, but not only am I not going to mention that to anyone, I'm going to write you a glowing recommendation to everyone???"

Ron Paul never did give up

Ron Paul never did give up the name of the person/people who wrote the "racist newsletters" did he? And he gives them kudos and speaking engagements all the time lol

So that makes this story true Gigi?

Great scoop, LL. It makes sense.

Seems kinda sketchy...

For one thing, there's not too many details given. It says Ron Paul is very upset, but at who? From the way its written it could be interpreted as him being upset either at C4L or Jesse Benton, or perhaps both?

more info is coming shortly

The author will bring more information on this story.

Another thing,

Because of how quickly Benton was hired by McConnell after leaving C4l, one has to believe that he had the job lined up before leaving. Meaning that if it's true that he was fired, he was probably fired as a reaction to his decision to work for McConnell. The plot thickens...

That is called a "rumor"

... it has to be proved, or I'm not buying. If Mr. Paul is so upset, I'm sure he'd let people know that his contacts list was stolen.

Easy Smear to Make

Easy accusation to make to inflame the Jesse Benton crucifiction! Where is the proof?

why doesn't someone ask Ron Paul?

Why speculate, He does interviews all the time; if asked Ron would tell the truth, that's kinda his thing.

I know we've all been wondering what how he feels in hindsight.

I never got an email from that dirtbag Saul Anuzis until

yesterday. Remember Saul folks? This all makes sense now.

Dear Conservative,

We need your help in defending the principles Scott Walker instilled in America and defunding the union bosses who tried to take him out in Wisconsin and now others around the country.

The biggest campaign in America right now is not happening in Florida, Ohio or any other swing state - it’s happening in Wisconsin, Chicago and other states nationwide over whether or not the Democrats and their union bosses will be able to recall the likes of Scott Walker and others willing to stand up to union bosses.

Americans jumped in to help and Wisconsin voters said no! The Democrats, the media, and the Unions saw this as a dramatic blow to Republicans’ ability to win Wisconsin back from Obama, and win back a HUGE Senate seat in the state. More importantly, it meant if the unions won this huge battle that no Governor in America will ever again have the courage to take them on.

Together, we stopped them in Wisconsin…but who’s next?

Now union bosses have emptied almost 400,000 children into the streets of Chicago as some of the highest paid teachers in the country demand more. Chicago is on the brink of financial disaster, yet union bosses turned down a 16% raise and demand even more?!?

In 2011, union thugs tore apart the state of Wisconsin with sit-ins, boycotts, and protests. They brought the state legislature to its knees when aided by liberal Democrats; they orchestrated a walk out where the Democrats refused to show up to work and vote. Then they spent millions and recalled TWO Republican Senators who stood up to them.

Then they turned their guns on Gov. Scott Walker. They gathered over a million signatures to remove him from office and spent millions of union member’s contributions trying to recall him…but failed!

We are not going to let that happen again...anywhere! But we need your help.

I joined Newt Gingrich to head up our effort to stop “card check” across our country. We set up an online, grassroots organization in 11 states to help convince key Senators to oppose any efforts to jam various union bosses “card check” proposal throughout America.

Conservatives across the country stepped up and helped us fund this project and fight the fight on the ground. You made a difference! Unfortunately, union bosses continue to do what they want, spend members money ANYWAY they please. But we can help stop them!

Here’s what these union goons don't know: we've found their Achilles heel. The secret the union bosses don't want you to know is that according to Federal Law, rank and file members can get a refund on their dues that are spent on politics by simply writing a letter and asking for the money back.

Every dollar we raise will go towards educating rank and file union membership that they can get their money back from the Union bosses. Literally every dime they request back comes straight out of their political operation. That means we are DEFUNDING Big Labor’s ability to run attacks ads, intimidate voters at the polls, send mailings, and do phone calls.

Help us DEFUND the unions today!

Since communicating directly with union members across the country and creating an easy to use, online resource – hundreds of members have accessed our information and have asked for their union dues back. A direct threat to union bosses ability to fund their left wing political agenda.

These Union bosses thought they could silence Gov. Scott Walker and keep him from restoring sanity to Wisconsin's budget. They thought that if they can strike hard at the first Governor who's threatened their cushy, high-paid jobs, they'll scare the other 49 Governors into submission. They think that their system of extorting monies for left-wing activism via mandatory dues will be able to fund their political machine for decades to come.

I hope you can see why what we’re doing terrifies them so much.

The union bosses know that if their members realized the amount of their money that is spent advocating radical left-wing policies instead of going to protecting their jobs, they would be outraged.

All Union members have to do is send a letter requesting that the part of their dues that gets spent on left-wing activism be returned to them. It's that easy.

We can hurt the Union bosses in a big way. We can help stop their left wing agenda. But we need your help to do it.

Click here to hurt the Union bosses!

Every member we get to send in a letter helps stop another Scott Walker style recall, and sends a national message that union members aren't going to put up with union bosses targeting our conservative leaders with recall.

Union bosses should not be taking money out of the hands of America's workers and using it to further the Democratic Party agenda.

Let’s remember who these guys are. They are thugs. Union bosses demand these dues and threaten people who don’t toe the line. Then, they take that money to work against our values and beliefs, no consultation required.

If we defund the union bosses, we can save brave political leaders like Gov. Walker. Drying up their supply of money to the engine powering the recall will stop it dead in its tracks.

Conservatives can fight back…our voices can be heard if union bosses are neutered.

Let’s get that money back. And then let’s get our country back. Will you help us defend America’s NEXT “Scott Walker” and defund the union bosses?

Click here to make a donation today to help take our country back!

I always thought the campaign should give their lists away

I always thought the campaign should give their lists away, or better yet, sell them to other campaigns. It just wastes the other campaigns money when they send me endless mail that I trash.
