We Are A Scrappy Bunch Of People

Wow, my head is spinning with all the different directions people are pursuing, I am ok with that, it shows we are still hanging in there.

It just takes me a lot longer to get through all the different threads and thoughts to ponder.

Since it is the weekend I just wanted to share a thought.

It seems we are a lot like remnants of society all different colors, cultures, ages and monetary positions.

Here we are, sharing all different thoughts for plans of action.

Oh, gosh I think that makes us a collective. (just a little joke)

What appears as chaos is really just solutions that have not yet materialized.

If our thoughts and actions came together it may look like a Scrap Quilt maybe one of these.

Or we could look like a Crazy Quilt, maybe one of these.

What I guess I am saying is please don't give up on each other, that somehow someway we will get by and make a go of things and create something beautiful and lasting.

Peace my friends and hang in there,

much love quiltingsando

Right and we're a free country. Amazing how things change.

Scrappy. Not the word I would use to describe

Windham Fabrics, New Jersey - Quilt: Mark Twain Collection

Mark Twain Collection

As his literature provides insight into the past, the events of Samuel Langhorne Clemens’ (Mark Twain) personal life further demonstrate his role as an eyewitness to history. These fabrics are inspired by Sam’s personal artifacts and the museum’s other collections, along with a hand written manuscript and illustrations from early editions of ’Tom Sawyer’ and ’Huck Finn’.

I don't know what else to say.

Wow, I never knew there

was a Mark Twain line of fabrics and really beautiful too, thanks for sharing this with us.

Forgive me I have been meaning

to say how good it is to read your words of love.
Whenever I see you here I am reminded of your tree of liberty artwork.
Do you have a link for those who missed it?
I miss it too.

I went to search

and typed my name and this is one of them if it helps.

It was fun and I never did anything like it before, not likely again. lol

Love is a good thing and wish there was more of it in the world. I really do think people love but they are being deceived, confused and fearful. Interesting times we live for sure. Good luck

Quilting, these are literally the kinds of threads

that hold all of us scraps together here at the DP. :)

Nice metaphor. :)

So glad you're here, QS, with your wisdom

and big heart and soul :)

Scrappy is a mild term for us.

Listen we have a dialogue here and if things hold together we will figure out in two years our new direction.

Most of us are awake and will soon be the majority ... if we keep this up someday we will set American policy.

The thing I love about this

place is everybody is so different, so much contrast in personality and ideas.

I get sad when people get too upset but when there is a good discussion of ideas it can be electrifying.

Cute visualization

and oh so true! I would love to see a real DP quilt. I am a fairly inexperienced quilter... However, I would certainly send a scrap of fabric that I felt reflected me or my personality for such an undertaking. I can already see an internet auction with proceeds going to some liberty themed project or group. ;)

I had tried to get a project like that going but it

fizzled a while back. Always enjoy talking to other quilters and lovers of hand crafts.

Quilting is very calming to the nerves and in the end you have a useful warm blanket.

Good luck

. . . and even when the grand project fizzled, Quilting was

so kind and thoughtful to make a sweet little cute pillow with my single odd PEACE bird scrap on! That was truly generous of you, Q.

Unfortunate...

Unfortunate it fizzled. I really would've loved to see the finished product, it would have been truly beautiful! Oddly enough crafts such as quilting are extremely relaxing. I can completely lose myself and all sense of time in hand crafts. Personally, I like to think about the warmth and love I'm stitching into quilts and afgans as I go... I will never know if it really works or not, but I do like to think it does. : )

Thank you for this post quiltingsando.

We definitely CAN come together to make something beautiful.

~Your perception becomes your reality~

Coming to grips of the implosion.

However it all came to be, the Liberty movement imploded.

What we are seeing is the pieces figuring it out and what to do.

It is going to take time.

It is a matter of, focus in one direction might be very hard to come by. We have to keep putting out the thoughts and see where we end up.

It will get a little better after the election.

Nah, we're just getting

Nah, we're just getting going. Look at how far we've come with rigged voting, rigged conventions, a hostile media, and a distracted America! The statistic really aren't going to know what do do when RP keeps speaking to people across the nation after the election is over and we continue to win the intellectual battles without a Presidential candidate. We are a decentralized and creative movement!

Oh, I agree, we have come far.

But in retrospect, things imploded emotionally and physically. I experienced it locally too.

It is not a forever thing. But the hits were big enough to just about stop us.

We'll be ok.

Hanging in and hoping you are well, too!

Thanks for your upbeat thoughts, as always. Beautiful quilts!
P.S. Add a "p" to scrappy!

Hee,hee

You caught me and I thank you so much.
