First Amendment: shorten it. Take the first five words, place a period after them. Dispense with the rest of the document.

Okay, I'm dreaming.

But while I'm dreaming, here are some more serious proposals for much-needed changes in the Constitution:
1. Eliminate he commerce clause, removing government's power to regulate business. Only fraud and harm to life, liberty or property should be illegal.
2. Eliminate the government authority to issue fiat currency.
3. Rescind government's authority to borrow money.
4. Establish a protocol by which a fourth branch of government is established with veto power over ALL legislation and Executive orders: "We the People." How it works: all laws proposed by the Legislative and Executive Branches must be published and put up on the internet for popular vote. (Issue each voter a unique ID, encrypted, to avoid fraud). Any law that doesn't win 90% approval is null and void. Further: ANY existing law may be put up for vote by a popular petition signed by 100,000 people. Once this is done, the law will be repealed if it does not win 90% approval.
5. Renounce the concept of "sovereign immunity." Government agents should enjoy NO special immunity when they injure innocent parties.
6. Forbid the power to levy "taxes" to all branches of government. All government functions should be structured to be paid for by user fees. People pay for the services they want, not for the ones they don't.

If you're starting from scratch, building a new Constitution, dream BIG. Our last Constitution was clearly inadequate to defend freedom -- look where it's brought us: Evil Empires R U.S.
