Greeks strike! Even taxmen strike!

Greece: General strike with a silver lining - even the taxman's walked out

Politicians... have been locked behind closed doors all week... European Union and International Monetary Fund inspectors... with each other as they try to scrape (sic. 'escape') together...

Most of the striking workers – from tax officers to university professors – oppose looming salary cuts which are included in the austerity €11.5bn (£9.2bn) over the next two years. More than half... from cutting wages, pensions and social benefits again....

Tax officers yesterday joined prosecutors and judges who continued their week long work stoppages. ... president of the Union of Judges and Prosecutors, said her colleagues had previously agreed to salary reductions to help the country battle its financial crisis. "But the new planned cuts mean our wages could drop by up to 60% and that means we're stripped of a dignified living." ...

Authorities ramped up security measures around the office of Prime Minister Antonis Samaras. Most of the gates of an adjacent public park were locked suddenly, trapping tourists inside, while scuffles broke out between police guarding the building and protesting firemen.

There's a land slide a comin......

Imagine, just for a moment, that there's a huge crowd of 350,000,000 people all smashed up against the edge of a cliff. The poorest are closest to the edge and the rich are furthest away.

A landslide starts, those closest go first, but the landslide progresses and the rich eventually fall too.

Everyones goin over the edge if the slide isn't stopped or the people get away from the edge. The best way for everyone to survive thru this, is for all, rich and poor, to realize this and act together to over come.

I just said that as a visual. Now what do we do? I'd like to hear your ideas.

Dignified living?

What does a Prosecutor or Judge consider a 'dignified living' in legal terms? :P

I will have to look that one up next time I am near a library.

I wish this sort of tripe to be... an extinct species. Extinct animal.

International banking tenders no money. No specie need apply. They ply their "legal tender" trade of promissory notes.
