Very latest Michigan Primary Update News
Here is the very latest Ron Paul Michigan Primary News.
1. Polls show Ron polling between 4 to 9%; Tomorrow is Primary Day in MI.
2. Looks like Iowa all over again; he is tonight, not that far behind Huckabee; and right in the midst of a serious battle between Rudy and Fred.
3. 4,000 more signs arrived at the Flint HQ a couple of days ago; should have been here much earlier. How can you expect us to put up 4,000 signs in less than a week?
4. Regarding signs; once again, we have more up than anybody; McCain has a few, so does Hillary; that is all I have seen.
5. The Meetups have done a fantastic job here. Lit drops, constant sign waves; gun shows.
6. Really great leadership from Meetups, with daily efforts, and several emails daily keeping everyone up-to-date.
7, Media coverage has been pretty good overall. Some real good stories in the press, and a number of letters to the editors. Ad campaign has been off; should have targeted Dems for crossover -- especially with Ron's position on trade. Ad quality has been addressed by others, so I will not go into it.
8. Ron Paul MI does have their own website, with videos of his visits, and MI related items, but NHQ has not linked it from their home page, so many RP supporters in MI do not know about it. Several calls asking NHQ to place the link up on the homepage since July have gone for not.
9. Spirits here have been good overall; like elsewhere, a number of Volunteers have become upset, demotivated, and insulted because their phone calls, or emails, or suggestions, have gone for naught from NHQ.
10. We were hoping that Ron would do a bus tour here in MI from town to town -- because we are so close to third place -- but that did not happen. He is rather putting his time in NV; we hope he does well there.
11. Just a note to RP supporters here in MI and elsewhere; please save your signs in case Ron does try a 4th party run.
12. A Big and Huge "thank you" to each Ron Paul MI supporter, for your emails, phone calls, money for gasoline, letter writing, sign waving, letters to the editors, lit drops, and prayers.
We need to win Nevada
The campaign has a real chance in Nevada and if they can win Nevada I am hopeful the momentum can carry over to California, the state with the most delegates. Think about it, Ron Paul will not win in Michigan and if Mitt wins, this is a brokered convention. Huckabee - Iowa, McCain - NH, Romney - Michigan, Ron Paul - Nevada and it's anybody's guess for SC. The campaign does know what is going on so please have patience, Rome wasn't built in a day.

Honestly, besides New Hampshire, Michigan and South Carolina are two States that Dr. Paul should be kicking ass in but it's just not the case.
Why?
I have to agree a little with the poster below, they need to think about hiring new campaign leaders.
It just seems that for whatever reason Dr.Paul's campaign has sputtered since Iowa and it just shouldn't be the case. This race is a roller coaster ride but Dr.Paul keeps ending up at the bottom. We need a win and we need it in a timely fashion.

NHQ is NOT TARGETING ANY DEMOCRATS OR INDEPENDENTS
just as in NH as well, they had the people manning the phones calling the SAME registered Republicans over and over and they were NOT happy about it either!
WHAT is going on a NHQ???? Are they DELIBERATELY SABATAGING Ron Paul and do they think that we are too stupid to notice? I don't know whether it's ignorance or arrogance! They (HQ) just keeps repeating the "get out and vote" mantra, but that isn't much good if people aren't hearing Ron Paul's message and without solid advertisements!
This is coming up over and over and over again! Here in FL, RP had some overwhelming support; but there is NO advertisement and our primary is on Jan. 29th which is a closed primary. Unfortunately, I've seen too many fear mongering Julieannie commercials, this is a do or die state for him/her and they're pooring a lot of money into advertising in FL.
A LOT of people are getting discouraged and his money will dry up if they don't make some MAJOR changes at campaign HQ SOON!
Oh, you guys in MI are doing AWESOME! There will be VOTER AFFIRMATION AFFIDAVITS to download, copy and distribute at all meetups and polling places on Libertybroadcastnetwork.org and watchthevote2008.com for MI voters to have notarized as a LEGAL SWORN statement of their votes for RP and will be a VERY useful tool against Election Fraud if they're planning to fix the numbers! If you have any meetup members who are notaries who will volunteer their services at the polling places, that might help, or they can just take it to their local bank and have it done, usually free if you are a customer.

Sorry I prattled on, just trying to do what I can, and get others not in MI, to help out.
When you talk(to anyone Union, if you do...) try to explain the difference between Free Trade and NAFTA.
U had one guy who Liked everythign except the "he's a free trader".. like he's for WTO/NAFTA, etc..which he is Not.
I explained this to one fellow on detnews,com/forums(political) this am.
I posted NAFTA threads(one site expalined it all, Free trade, vs NAFTA, how it hurts some on both sides of the border) and RP's free trade explanation.
Hope the guy reads it and responds later today.
Hope he will take the 3 minutes to read Ron Paul's position about this, as I have posted a direct link to it.
People seem to be spoon fed from the MSM, and don't care to do 3 minutes of reading facts anymore.
Seems Some unions guys are "free trade= NAFTA" and it doesn't.
I know one union guy who votes Democrat no matter who they are(blind party loyalty is bad for any one/any party, to me. I vote for the person..not the party)...but he did tell me" At least he doesn't take money from companies" to run for office, and he sounded liek he respected that.
May be another good point to explain..others take money from company's, which may not be a good thing for Americans, in general, or RP takes donations from voters only, not special interests.

I had 2 people "bad mouth" Ron Paul... one was about the war...and I posted RP's stance about terrorism/war foreign policy( the whole site link with his comments/positions). Then another guy attacked RP about racisim... I posted 2 links, I found here on daily paul... one was the story about Mr. Linder, the NAACP President , that says RP is not a Racist, and another to that VDare site, sticking up for RP... Both article,same post/thread.
It was a Romney thread.
I also posted on McCain/Romney thread....
and a blog, etc...
and I did find 3 other Pro-RP posters, 2 from Michigan, one from CA, in the past 24 hours.
So it's 5-6 Pro- 2 against(due to smears, and uniformed people not taking 3 minutes to read the links to RP's foreign policy I posted) since Friday.
I was not nasty, but got the point across.
Detroit News wants McCain to win.
Did seems many others see through his warmonger ways, but some think Huckabee and Romney are perfect(roll eyes).
I shot that down, also, with threads to information.
NO ONE ELSE -but me- posted Links, except 1 other Pro-Paul poster- to prove their opposition to RP is just plain wrong, just TALK.. no facts to back them up.
I also mentioned: Michigan residents: are you better off now than 5 years ago?
I know most aren't.

I have "mildly" challenged others to Post factual information that shows RP is racist, or his foreign policy would lead to us becoming extinct(something like this), lol.
I said we are fighting terrorist 6000 miles away, yet, they could easily cross into America via Mexico
Rp would bring home troops(which saves Billions, if not Trillions of dollars worldwide, to help Americans here)and patrol the borders versus looking for boogie men 6000 miles away when 12 million illegals are in USA now, and many more daily come here, some could be terrorists!

There is one blogger telling it like it is about Hillary, etc, running in MI( is it true even if they get tons of votes, they get No Delegates, because they went against the National Democratic party to hold MI's primary earlier than they wanted, thus, no one gets delegates on Democrat side? That's what I kind of go tfrom one blogger..maybe I misunderstood?).
Anyhow.. go there and 50 people post Pro-Ron Paul.. who knows? maybe they'll wake up more than they have?
My Theory
I believe Ron Paul is working so hard in Nevada because the campaign feels they can take all of the delegates in that state. So everyone in Michigan needs to keep working for him. I know we would all like him to visit every state but that is not possible. It is about collecting delegates. Hopefully, the mood swings over to California, the state with the most delegates. We the grassroots need to keep doing our work and don't get discouraged. The campaign has a plan.

I`m getting tired of spending money I don`t have,spending time making signs,waving signs,handing out information,talking to people in Ron`s name,and getting ZERO from the campaign office,not even a reply.Totally ignored by all.I`ll vote for Ron Paul for sure,but!! I`ll spend more time with my family from this point on,and less time campaigning.
I am an Organizer of a Ron Paul meetup group,that dosn`t seem to matter either..totally ignored I am,totally ignored by all.
Makes one want to do more,right?...wrong!

However, the LACK of support from the campaign staff is shocking to say the least. I, for one am sick of hearing these reports of VOLUNTEERS not getting the right response from the campaign staff.
I will tell you this. This campaign staff had better get in gear. We haven't supported this effort to see it go down the drain from some numbskulls.
