How I will become an advocate of peace

I am on the path to become a minister. This unique path allows me to advance the cause of peace, the peace of the Lord. One of my stumbling blocks of my faith was how to reconcile all the war propaganda with my faith. This was extremely hard. Because of Ron Paul, I do not have too. Ron removed the last stumbling block so that I can become a minister with a free conscience.

I go with full confidence that the Lord protects those who advocate peace. This peace passes beyond all human understanding. If I am an advocate of peace, I am doing my Father's work. I feel really complete.

Even if I am very frustrated at times on the DP, I must love my neighbor. I must love one another as the Christ himself loved the world. This is not easy mind you, but peace is never easy.

From now on, I will advocate peace as much as I can. I will bring to people that conflict is not the way to solve disputes. Diplomacy is preferable to bloodshed no matter the circumstance.

Those on the DP that are not against me are for me. We are all advocates of peace. Let this common purpose unite us.

I get your intention.....

my problem is "slaying folk with truth". I've always been bluntly truthful and some might say "caustic". So I really rely on that old hope that
"I planted, Apollos watered but God gaveth the increase." Even if I planted that seed super-duper hard :)

So now I've got several Scripture cards I've got sitting right out in front of me to keep reading and "visualizing" so I can ingrain them into me (may the word "abide").

So my new trial = Colossians 4:6
Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

I always have asked God to "give me the right words to say" but forgot about asking for the right countenance and to help me reset my abrasiveness. I am like the walking female Clint Eastwood with a humongous salt shaker holster, and am just now realizing how awful waaaay over-salted food tastes. I figure God "allows" me to be the way I am for some reason but also is now showing me another tactic to try.....low sodium :)

I may only make it a 1/2 hour "low salt" but I strive, Lord knows.
"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12

And one more that I have seen over and over actually really (mystically if you will) work = Isaiah 55:11: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it.

I fully believe if I keep speaking the word, even though it may be a tad over salty, I have faith that Apollos will come along and tone it down with water and God will not let his word return void and will giveth increase.

Just maybe for my own well being, I'm going to try low sodium. When you pray, remember me.

Hugs B

Freedom is not: doing everything you want to.
Freedom is: not having to do what you don't want to do.

I agree

I have longed to read those words

Thank you burningsirius. If I had written the post it would have been closely related to what you have said here. We must keep in mind, peace isn't based on the worth of the other person, else we would never have it. We have all committed our share of wrongs, so we should simply look for the good where it may be found in each person and enhance that. May God bring many blessings to you in your pursuit of happiness in others.

God bless you--

I have determined that at this point the best I can do is be at peace with those I meet on a daily basis (especially my family!)--

:)

And to pray for my enemies: (including Romney, Obama, etc.)

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

I'm not a man of God, but

I'm glad we have people in your position helping to shift the minds of many Christians that call for and promote war. Liberty is for all! Good luck in your endeavors.

If you want peace, then work for justice for all.

If you want prosperity, then work for liberty for all.

Liberty and justice are in the general welfare.

Free includes debt-free!

I have been thinking of doing a post about this.

But you summed it up perfectly.

Lord Acton, Lord Chief Justice of England, 1875 - "The issue which has swept down the centuries and which will have to be fought sooner or later is the People v. The Banks."
