Yhusha

-Numbers 13:16 And Moses called Husha the son of Nun, Yhusha(Strong's Hebrew 3091).

-Zechariah 3:8 ‘Now listen, Yhusha the high priest, you and your companions who sit before you, for they are men of symbol. For look, I am bringing forth My Servant – the Branch.

-Zechariah 6:11 And you shall take the silver and gold, make a crown and set it on the head of Yhusha the son of Yehotsadaq, the high priest,12and shall speak to him, saying, ‘Thus said YHUH of hosts, saying, “See, the Man whose Name is the Branch! And from His place He shall branch out and He shall build the Temple of YHUH. 13It is He who is going to build the Temple of YHUH. It is He who is going to bear the splendour. And He shall sit and rule on His throne and shall be a priest on His throne and the counsel of peace shall be between Them both,” ’

Now translated from the Greek

-Luke 2:21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called (Strong's Greek 2424), which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

-Acts 4:11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

-Philippians 2:9 Elohim, therefore, has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name which is above every name, that at the Name of (Strong's Greek 2424) every knee should bow, of those in heaven and of those on earth and of those under the earth, and every tongue should confess that (Strong's Greek 2424) Messiah is Master, to the esteem of Elohim the Father.

-Acts 26:14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue,
"Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks"
And I said, "Who art thou, Lord?"
And he said, "I am (Strong's Greek 2424) whom thou persecutest."

So, what is Strong's Greek word 2424? At least twice in the New Testament, Strong's Greek 2424 is used for the man who came right after Moses, Yhusha(Yod-Hey-Waw-Shin-Ayin, Strong's Hebrew 3091). Did these men have the same name?

-Acts 7:44 The Tent of witness was with our fathers in the wilderness, as He appointed, instructing Moses to make it according to the pattern that he had seen, 45which our fathers, having received it in turn, also brought with Yhusha(Strong's Greek 2424) into the land possessed by the gentiles, whom Elohim drove out before the face of our fathers until the days of David, 46who found favour before Elohim and asked to find a dwelling for the Elohim of Jacob, 47but Solomon built Him a house.

-Hebrews 4:9 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8For if Yhusha(Strong's Greek 2424) had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

Now, what is the meaning of the word?

You should recognize the first three letters Y-H-U.

Many people say the last two letters and the original name "Husha" come from Yasha, (Strong's Hebrew word 3467, http://concordances.org/hebrew/strongs_3467.htm).

Save

Safe

Salvation

I can barely read(or count), but tend to agree with them. And the saying "Jesus Saves" now seems redundant.

Mmmm, salty.

Hear, O Israel: YHUH our God YHUH one. And thou shalt love YHUH thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

"Anointed", & Promised.

+1, thanks for the link, Strong's Hebrew: 4899. מָשִׁ֫יחַ (mashiach), with 39 occurrences, all OT. In Daniels an attribute is added = The Prince.

Strange, english dictionary does not give this meaning =
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Messiah
[noun, 1. the promised and expected deliverer of the Jewish people.]

notice, they put a condition, =
[—n, 1. Judaism the awaited redeemer of the Jews, to be sent by God to free them
2. Jesus Christ, when regarded in this role.
3. an exceptional or hoped for liberator of a country or people.]

Notice, the term "Anointed" does no appear in the dictionary, because anointed also indicates appointed, ordained, designated, and esp to "confer holy orders on".

4 sister - semitic languages

+1, thanks for the historical & scriptural references, from these we find records of 4 well known branches.
1. Aramaic, said to be the language spoken by the Maseah (son of Maryum), is not the same as spoken in Armenia. Now it is not a living language, nor do we find any Gospels recorded in it. The Greek versions were written 50 - 70 years later, then translated into Latin & => further away into the anglish version called English.
2. Hebrew, as mentioned above - it has been recently revived by Yiddish speakers, - not exactly similar to the ancient versions, and they have borrowed (& altered sounds) words from Arabic.
3. Amharric, spoken in Ethopia, a little different.
4. Arabic is the most well preserved and living, has recorded scripture.

Alright

Thanks for explaining that. I should note a difference between modern Hebrew and the Aramaic or classical Hebrew.
