Don't indulge childish Attention-Whore Kurt Schlichter

Today, Kurt Schlichter (from not-so-brightbart) has reiterated his misguided opinion of Paul supporters and libertarians in general.
From Last week: http://www.dailypaul.com/255426/continuing-to-squeal-conserv...

Using slightly different wording, he has again mischaracterized Paul supporters while ignoring any mention of the unconstitutional positions Romney stands on, his lack of principles, his failure to govern like a conservative, the corruption that occurred throughout the Republican primaries, the illegal behavior witnessed at the convention, or the power grab of the establishment GOP - which was forced through while using unethical tactics to ensure that opposing viewpoints were excluded from the vote.

Instead, he repeats the same narrative we hear over and over from similar establishment lackeys. Nothing new here, and definitely not worth clicking on. Essentially, it's just more, "Wahhhh! Romney can't win and it's all Ron Paul's supporter's fault!" Of course, they will continue to push this narrative to deflect their own foolish decisions and corrupt behavior.

There's no need to reward him with traffic. He seems to believe that because 3,100 people responded to his last tantrum, it is a positive reflection on him and he want's still more attention. I'm providing a list of his insults and misinformation below if you are curious.

He pretends that it's all about:

  • "hurt feelings", "sore losers" and "making a statement".
  • our being "focused on the wrong things".
  • We're not playing "the long game" and want to be a "fringe movement".
  • We are "vindictively boycotting Mitt in the name of ideological purity".
  • We are "the pouters, the angry and the attention seeking".
  • We simply don't want to let the "chance to be in the spotlight slip away".
  • We "want to make sure the country pays the price" for their disrespect and Romney's refusal to debate an actual conservative.

He pretends that if Romney loses:

  • It has nothing to do with Romney's ineptitude.
  • It has nothing to do with the GOP's corruption, as mentioned in my first paragraph.
  • It's not the GOP's fault for picking another loser.
  • Our expectation that the Republican candidate be an actual conservative who obeys the constitution, is too high a standard, and a selfish principle.

He pretends that:

  • a "significant number of libertarians" believe voting for Romney "is the only hope".
  • we must not know how bad Obama really is.
  • that he, his cronies, and Romney are not "spineless GOP RINOs".

He faults us:

  • for disliking the deadly blowback and massive financial waste resulting from current foreign policy.
  • for knowing that the Patriot Act is unconstitutional and not ignoring it.
  • because we "expected respect but felt no obligation to do what losing factions are expected to do after the primary season – paste on a fake smile, high five the winner, and go to work." In other words, maintain the status quo, ensuring that nothing ever improves.
  • for adhering to principles
  • .

He claims that:

  • we just want to smoke pot and that's the only problem we have with the failed, $76 billion a year drug war.
  • We will "alienate the only possibly receptive wider audience libertarianism has."
  • In November we want to "go out of [our] way" to screw the folks that screwed us", which therefore makes it only right that they went out of their way to screws us, AND he threatens that we should expect them to continue to screw us in the future.
  • There are no Democrats capable of grasping the fact that freedom, peace, ending the drug war, and an end to corporate welfare are common goals of great importance, which may may lead us both to vote libertarian this November.
  • Ron Paul and Gary Johnson want to "ensure their party (and our country) pay the price" for their failure to be nominated.
  • no one "give[s] a half-damn about [our] grievances".
  • If Romney loses, they intend to blame us, and he threatens that "libertarianism will never be more than a punch line"

He then goes into the obligatory warnings about Ralph Nader, "quixotic campaigns", the failure of the green party, and finally states that, "the people you’re enjoying vexing today will send libertarians a message right back in the future.  And that message is anatomically impossible for any but the most limber of gymnasts." Blah, blah and blah….

We have more important things to than wasting our time trying to rehabilitate this buffoon.
