List Of Companies Against GMO Labeling - Prop 37 California Right To Know Act

by TheDesertBee

There has been quite a lot of controversy created regarding GMO’s (Genetically Modified Organizms) called Bio-engineered (a.k.a. GE-genetically engineered) organism/ingredients in our food. However many believe that the verdict is in with the recent BREAKING: Study Shows GM Corn Cause Massive Tumors. Eating genetically modified corn (GM corn) and consuming trace levels of Monsanto's Roundup chemical fertilizer caused rats to develop horrifying tumors, widespread organ damage, and premature death. That's the conclusion of a shocking new study that looked at the long-term effects of consuming Monsanto's genetically modified corn.

The study has been deemed "the most thorough research ever published into the health effects of GM food crops and the herbicide Roundup on rats." News of the horrifying findings is spreading like wildfire across the internet, with even the mainstream media seemingly in shock over the photos of rats with multiple grotesque tumors... tumors so large the rats even had difficulty breathing in some cases. GMOs may be the new thalidomide.

I am an advocate of foods grown as nature intended, WITHOUT GMOs and NO manmade pesticides. So many people have trusted these companies/corporations who provide food to the masses, but rarely (if ever) question their moral ethics, behavior, or their motivations for providing that food. It is long overdue that we wake up and question what is truly going on here. What have we all been exposed to in the name of big corporations lust for money and control of our farmers?

Below listed companies who are campaigning to DENY you the right to know if GMOs are in your food – Soon Prop37 (the California Right to Know Act, a.k.a. Label GMO) an important law will be up for a vote. On the national level HR 3553, the Genetically Engineered Food Right to Know Act and HR 3554, the Genetically Engineered Safety Act is scheduled for debate and a vote.

that's the whole point that

that's the whole point that many libertarians don't understand!

We aren't in a FREE economy right now. We still have a government that tries to pick winners/losers and certainly has their favorites. The more money the lobbyists give the politicians, the better treatment those companies get.

There must be MORE consumer protection laws UNTIL lobbyists and big government are out of the picture.

Less laws needed in a truly free economy...more CONSUMER PROTECTION LAWS needed in a corporate/state run economy.

“Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it’s realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy.”
― Ron Paul

True...

But given that corporations and government are intertwined, knowing what governments and also corporations are doing is not exactly bad. Or maybe not even against libertarianism. It's not a stretch to say corporatists are too secretive and apply the same rules as government. I think defending corporations by saying they are part of free markets isn't completely factual. Corporations own a lot of the government and control a large part of it. Only they aren't elected. Not unless they work within it like Cheney of Halliburton for example. Most of the time they just lobby officials to alter the legal landscape to their advantage. Heck just look at Romney. Do you think he will do anything to hurt his business retirement program through Bain Capital if he gets elected? Is it coincidence that the heads of rich corporations end up running for government positions? If you work in government you can protect the bad moral decisions your company makes. It is anything but a free market principle once the two factions are in bed.

Might've been easier

to post a list of companies that don't oppose labeling. Damn...that's a long list of products I'll now have to avoid (assuming that the reason those companies don't want labeling is to conceal that their products are loaded with GMO's).

Even more complicated than that.

Not every product line listed contains GMOs, but each of the companies listed has SOME GMO products. You're probably safe drinking Perrier water from Nestle, or Aquafina from Pepsico, even if most of their other products are full of GMO corn syrup.
