Romney being sabotaged? We will take the blame. *Updated*

It doesn't take a political genius to see that the RNC in Tampa was a self-destructive disaster for the Romney campaign. In a tight election the LAST thing you want to do is antagonize and alienate swing voters. Ron Paul Republicans and independents are practically the definition of "swing voters".

But what is going on now is even more bizarre. Iowa is considered a swing state. Even though my county is 80%+ Republican, the Obama campaign has actually opened up a campaign headquarters in our little town. And he has another one 15 miles away in our county seat.

As the GOP county chair, I expected to be inundated with phone calls, emails, yard signs, buttons, and pamphlets from the Romney campaign after the convention. Instead I have gotten nothing but junk mail asking for donations.

As a well known Ron Paul supporter I have been bending over backwards to show that I am a loyal Republican. And I have been taking heat for not holding a central committee meeting (I had planned on distributing yard signs at the meeting).

My wife has been calling and even driving an hour to the nearest Romney headquarters in Council Bluffs asking for yard signs. They keep telling her that they are out of signs and don't know when they will get another shipment.

Today I heard from another liberty Republican that his county is having the same problem. In fact, one of his central committee members is still waiting for a sign that she purchased online. Are you kidding me? Romney's campaign has had ten times the money that Ron Paul had and they can't even get yard signs out?

This goes beyond incompetence.

Here is my theory. The insiders had been hoping for another Bush-style, RINO presidential administration to further their agenda and take the blame when the big crash happens. But with the resurgence of true conservative/libertarians in the GOP, I think they have changed their mind. I think they are more concerned about taking US out than any advantages they might enjoy from having a "Republican" president.

They are going to blame us for Romney's defeat. The lame articles pleading with us to vote for Romney are just an excuse to make us the scapegoat.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking anyone here to vote for Romney. It's bad enough that I have to. And I don't think it matters if you vote for Gary Johnson, Ron Paul, or just abstain from voting for president. That train has left the station.

But what DOES matter is winning as many hearts and minds in the Republican Party as we can; consolidating or improving our power within the GOP.

I think our enemies agree.
And I think they are setting Romney up to take one for the team.

What do you think?

======================= Update=====================
Just got this on my Facebook page from a liberty GOP state legislator--

If the Republican ticket loses in November, the rush by Mr. Ryan and other 2016 hopefuls to position themselves for the Iowa caucuses “is going to look like Best Buy the night after Thanksgiving,” said Craig Robinson, a former political director of the Republican Party of Iowa. “I hate to say this, but if Ryan wants to run for national office again, he’ll probably have to wash the stench of Romney off of him.”

Wow. Can you imagine the unleashed hell if I had said, "the stench of Romney"?

I sure can.

And I bet the insiders already have a list of "frontrunners" ready for the 2016 race.

Rubio, Christie, Santorum, Ryan, Huckabee, etc. are a few that come to mind.

The only thing I am sure of is that Senator Rand Paul isn't on that list.

I am not sure your theory is correct

First, most USA politicians have no clue about economics. They do not plan according to a future crash, only on an immediate goal to take or keep the power.

Secondly, if you are honest, you should see what GOP leadership & RNC have understood: if GOP had given all dues to RP supporters and Romney had still won in delegate count, RP supporters would had not endorsed Romney anyway. We know that, GOP knows that. Therefore, GOP counts more on DEMs who lost their job under Obama than on us.

Yes, we want to feel important and think we have big numbers, and yes, some politicians make unification calls, but they do not actually count on us. We are in a mania mode.

Quick, someone create a

Quick, someone create a "Blame me, I voted for Ron Paul" t-shirt. I'll buy one!

What Do I Think???

I think you're a bigger dupe than most of the people on the Daily Paul for

1)being a G.O.P. anything, and
2)admitting it

I don't believe that you or most of the "liberty-loving" Paulbots are getting it or are going to get it...YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE TWO-PARTY SYSTEM FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE!

Get out of their system - stop supporting them financially - stop watching and listening to their propaganda ministers (translation: TURN OFF THE TV AND RADIO)- do what Dr. Paul said and NOT WHAT HE DID...build grassroots independence and DO NOT ALLOW CAREER POLITICAL ESTABLISHMENT FIGURES TO CO-OP YOUR MOVEMENT (translation: stay away Jesse Benton, Doug Wead, Dick Armey, Sarah Palin...the rest of the usual suspects)and above all, be willing to die for your cause...or at the least, ask yourself if this is a cause worth dying for.

Think for yourself.

Be seeing you.

Now

do you understand why so many who supported RP in 1988 and 2008 did not take part in GOP primaries of 2012?

They had made the same mistake as you have just done.

My Mistake?

My mistake was believing I could help change something for the 36 years I participated in the two-party election process. I now understand that I was a bigger dupe than most of the people who post here. I freely admit that I thought I could band together with other like-minded individuals who operated outside of the box. I created the "Presidential Pink Slip" in 1992 and passed them out with Pat Buchanan supporters. I debated with Rush Limbaugh on the radio in 2008 over the lack of an immigration policy and the need for the G.O.P. to wake up. After McCain stabbed Dr. Paul in the back later that year, I finally woke up in time to vote for the last time.

I'm out until I see a change in the weather...a change that will turn the whole rotten system upside down. 2012 was close until the maggots crawled out of the festering meat of the two-party system and wrecked Dr. Paul's best and last run. I'm out until I see enough people get fed up and smart enough to do the right thing - then I'm back in...all in.

Be seeing you.

Blame? You mean credit!

Proudly say "Willard lost and we are why!" We will not be the GOP's doormat. We are not GOP hostages. This is not Stockholm. We do not identify with people who abuse us. Call us crazy. And they did. Call us traitors. And they did. But abuse us and expect us to vote for you? That isn't crazy. That is silly. Willard can go the way of McCain and Dole. In four years people will be asking each other who ran for president on the Republican ticket and nobody will remember: Some Amish guy or somebody. Willard is going to lose and we should be giving each other medals for it.

Let them blame us. The extra

Let them blame us. The extra publicity is a net plus.

I agree, they will blame us

Then all mainstream fox news republicans will say " send those Ron Paul supporters to FEMA camps for reeducation" and the tyrants will give them what they want.

And the Ron Paul supporters will lead the new revolution

and the tyrants will be thrown out. And a new age of freedom and prosperity will begin. Sorry, my story telling got carried away. What I meant is we will all bow and worship Robombney.

It's more important than ever

It's more important than ever to wake people up, for the very reason that being connected to the 'tube' can spread the idea that "Paul hurt Romney's chances" like wildfire. Stand prepared to the vile "It's your fault we lost to Obama" drivel, that I know I'll get from people who know me(mostly family/friends)

Spacehabitats, I agree with you!

Here in my MN county, we are not seeing any yard signs for Romney either. I am staying involved in the GOP to honor my obligations when I became a county delegate. Ron Paul supporters are in leadership positions here, and they are doing everything they can to promote the GOP ticket from the top down. Unfortunately, the Romney people in the party are not willing to do anything to help out. They won't show up for meetings or turn out for planned events. They are in effect boycotting the local party. Odd thing is, their man Romney won, and they are not doing anything to volunteer and help him get elected.

I don't understand how a campaign for President can be so badly mismanaged as this one. Although old man Bush's campaign was really pathetic too, with Mary Matalin dating James Carville during that campaign. It is perplexing to see the likes of Bill Kristol, Peggy Noonan, and other establishment Republicans running away from Romney. What do they know that we don't?

Evidently the fix is in for Obama.

Minnesota Mary

This is All Bullsh*t!!

That S.O.B. bastard Romulan knew we, the Ron Paul nation, would not go out and support him after all he and his crooked campaign operatives and the media did to Ron Paul.

Romulan can go screw himself right up his hershey highway..Pardon my french but, I can't stand that snake in the grass and his entire phoney family...

Romney doesn't have a snow flake in hell's chance to defeat the other lying bastard Obama in a fair election without our support. We are a huge voting block in the republican party and without that block of support, Barack 'Insane' Obama is going to wipe his stinking ass on election day..

Personally, I really didn't believe the global elite wanted to replace Obama with that bigger idiot Romulan...

The whole idea from start to finish in this election cycle was to prevent Ron Paul from winning the GOP nomination. It wasn't about Romulan at all, in my humble opinion.

You can tell by the way he and his handlers are camapigning 'The Romulan' isn't campaigning to win the nomination. This whole scenario is a repeat from four years ago...only with McInsanity...

Let them blame us for Romneys defeat. They have no class anyway. They wouldn't take the blame weather it was their incompetence or not...

Its all about destroying and attacking the liberty movement for everything that goes wrong. We are a serious threat to them and they want to throw us to the lions because Rome (America) is burning...

Before this whole thing ius over there will be blood shed down the road and many of you out their in cyberspace can see it as well...

Be honest

"after all he and his crooked campaign operatives and the media did to Ron Paul."

Now - if GOP and Romney had played a fair game and Romney had still won, would we have supported Romney today? If you are honest, you will understand what GOP had understood long ago.

True...

Governor Romney and the Election-Fraud-Party know us quite well. Many of us "Ron Paulers" will support candidates who support Liberty and true American spirit.

I'd wager since the Ron Paul

I'd wager since the Ron Paul Republicans took over IA that's the reason you're getting ignored.

Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes the laws - Mayer Amschel Rothschild

I would agree

I would agree especially since MN Mary said the same thing.... however, I'm in TN and don't see any yard signs (oh wait, that is because no one around here still owns a yard)

Even I had to take my Ron Paul stuff off my car... when they come to repo it, it should be clean.

Only halfway kidding, people.

We didn't sabotage Romney

ROMNEY SABOTAGED US!!!!

GOP microtenters must learn a hard lesson

GOP microtenters must learn a very hard lesson for purging us. That lesson will be made abundantly clear when we deny Willard "White Horse Prophecy" Romney and his pathetic stooges any and all aid.

And when Willard goes down in flames EVEN harder than Mad Dog Maverick McCain, sure, there'll be hard feelings. Harsh words. And hopefully a lot of empty seats as microtenters abandon all hope and retire their useless positions in the party.

Then we will humbly, graciously, fill those party seats and take up the unenviable task of building anew the rotting hulk of the much lessened opposition party known as the GOP.

This is the microtenters' last hurrah. Let em buuuuurrn!!

"Cowards & idiots can come along for the ride but they gotta sit in the back seat!"

I think that the Robme cartel

I think that the Robme cartel does not have to try.
Look at his top donors.
The banksters that put puppet Obongo in.
Obongo is far too compromised and they know it.
That's all I have to consider.
Doesn't matter how anyone votes.
They have smart voting machines to sort things out.
Meanwhile the MSM hand wringers are very amusing.

WWE

I think our two party political system is just like pro wrestling. Winners and losers are predetermined and the storyline is set up. Romney was always supposed to be the fall guy. He is a professional loser. Period. That is also the same reason grassroots campaigns and candidates are such a threat... it's like someone jumping in the ring from the audience at a wrestling match. It ruins their layout completely.

You don't 'have' to vote for

You don't 'have' to vote for Rmoney, it's a secret ballot, who's to know?

Great insight!

.

I agree--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Who gives a flying fuck if they blame us?

They can suck it.

Considerations for the 2012 U.S. Presidential Race from the Mind of a Political Independent-Use this tool to educate the unconverted and prove support for Dr. Paul among Independents.

Is there a tall bridge you can jump off of?

That would be a better alternative than voting for Romney. What's this about yard signs for Romney? I hope you were intending to burn them.

When Mitt loses...

When he loses the Presidential bid, Mitt and the GOP will have no one to blame but themselves. They should of picked Ron Paul, the real winner of it all. The party people will vote whoever the GOP says will win. Anyways we can show the people how the election was stolen and hopefully open some eyes up. I still talk about Ron Paul and liberty to whoever will listen. Of course talking to old people in Florida is sometimes like talking to zombies that want to eat your brains. Anyways that is all.

Easier for establishment to cheat

It is easier to for the establishment to cheat at party level than to cheat at the national level. That is why they took Ron Paul out at the Republican Primary at whatever cost since it will be harder for them to cheat in case he won the republican candidate instead of Romney.

Establishment wins with Romney versus Obama.

hey space what county are you

hey space what county are you in? In Webster here we have both offices literally a block apart.

Could not happen to a nicer guy.

I do not want Romney's campaign sabotaged. I want Mitt Romney in jail.
