Romney being sabotaged? We will take the blame. *Updated*

It doesn't take a political genius to see that the RNC in Tampa was a self-destructive disaster for the Romney campaign. In a tight election the LAST thing you want to do is antagonize and alienate swing voters. Ron Paul Republicans and independents are practically the definition of "swing voters".

But what is going on now is even more bizarre. Iowa is considered a swing state. Even though my county is 80%+ Republican, the Obama campaign has actually opened up a campaign headquarters in our little town. And he has another one 15 miles away in our county seat.

As the GOP county chair, I expected to be inundated with phone calls, emails, yard signs, buttons, and pamphlets from the Romney campaign after the convention. Instead I have gotten nothing but junk mail asking for donations.

As a well known Ron Paul supporter I have been bending over backwards to show that I am a loyal Republican. And I have been taking heat for not holding a central committee meeting (I had planned on distributing yard signs at the meeting).

My wife has been calling and even driving an hour to the nearest Romney headquarters in Council Bluffs asking for yard signs. They keep telling her that they are out of signs and don't know when they will get another shipment.

Today I heard from another liberty Republican that his county is having the same problem. In fact, one of his central committee members is still waiting for a sign that she purchased online. Are you kidding me? Romney's campaign has had ten times the money that Ron Paul had and they can't even get yard signs out?

This goes beyond incompetence.

Here is my theory. The insiders had been hoping for another Bush-style, RINO presidential administration to further their agenda and take the blame when the big crash happens. But with the resurgence of true conservative/libertarians in the GOP, I think they have changed their mind. I think they are more concerned about taking US out than any advantages they might enjoy from having a "Republican" president.

They are going to blame us for Romney's defeat. The lame articles pleading with us to vote for Romney are just an excuse to make us the scapegoat.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking anyone here to vote for Romney. It's bad enough that I have to. And I don't think it matters if you vote for Gary Johnson, Ron Paul, or just abstain from voting for president. That train has left the station.

But what DOES matter is winning as many hearts and minds in the Republican Party as we can; consolidating or improving our power within the GOP.

I think our enemies agree.
And I think they are setting Romney up to take one for the team.

What do you think?

======================= Update=====================
Just got this on my Facebook page from a liberty GOP state legislator--

If the Republican ticket loses in November, the rush by Mr. Ryan and other 2016 hopefuls to position themselves for the Iowa caucuses “is going to look like Best Buy the night after Thanksgiving,” said Craig Robinson, a former political director of the Republican Party of Iowa. “I hate to say this, but if Ryan wants to run for national office again, he’ll probably have to wash the stench of Romney off of him.”

Wow. Can you imagine the unleashed hell if I had said, "the stench of Romney"?

I sure can.

And I bet the insiders already have a list of "frontrunners" ready for the 2016 race.

Rubio, Christie, Santorum, Ryan, Huckabee, etc. are a few that come to mind.

The only thing I am sure of is that Senator Rand Paul isn't on that list.

Romney is the most SELF_SABOTAGING candidate I have ever seen

I would not be suprised if very soon we'll see Mitt riding around on a military base somewhere in a tank doing the "Michael Dukakis", but worse yet, he'll think he was the first one to come up with the this "patriotic" activity.

With all due respect, I will no longer be a voting prostitute for Constitution rejecting harlots.

Welcome to the party pal...

I saw this coming MONTHS ago. Actually, it's the same transparent scam the leftist GOP ran in 08.

Step 1:

Step 2:
SMEAR Ron Paul. Position him as SO ODIOUS and nationally destructive, even CONSIDERING HIM is ridiculous.

Step 3:
Keep the FAKE-conservatives in the race as long as possible (Santorum, Bachmann, Gingrich) to SHAVE SUPPORT AWAY FROM PAUL DURING THE PRIMARY (let's not forget, RIGHT OUTTA THE GATE, Bachmann CHEATED the Iowa straw from Paul with a "free" country concert).

Step 4:
Pick and "support" your TOKEN "conservative" (leftist), who YOU KNOW HAS NO FRIGGIN CHANCE IN HELL OF GETTING NOMINATED. FAKE-conservative/libertarian Beck did this with FLAMING LEFTIST Santorum.

Step 5:
Your "pick" INEVITABLY drops out. You ACT PO'ed and whine and cry for a few days (it's ALL AN ACT).

Step 6:
Cheat-nominate the MOST LEFTIST REPUBLICAN YOU CAN IMAGINE (like a Lindsey Graham, John McCain or a Mitt Romney).

Step 7:
You ACT beaten-down, politically crushed... but hopeful. You TRICK PEOPLE INTO CONTINUED SUPPORT OF A LEFTIST GOP by telling them that the artificially-chosen LEFTIST "is better than Obummer." You do this EVERY DAY - ALL DAY - REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT on FOX, Clearchannel, Townhall, Hotair, Blaze... as Goebbels instructs.

Step 8 (this is where we are right now):
You begin to condition the naive Americans into believing the election hinges on independents and "loose-cannon" and "self-destructive" Ron Paul supporters (THE VERY VOTING BLOCK YOU STRATEGICALLY ALIENATED BY CHEATING OUT THEIR CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATE)!!!!!

Step 9:
Come election time, after the artificially-chosen leftist INEVITABLY LOSES (McCain in 08, Romney in 12)... then the REAL PROPAGANDA MAGIC KICKS IN! You UNLEASH a saturation campaign of DEMONIZATION AND RIDICULE (UNSEEN SINCE Stalin vs. private farmers) to blame the loss (that YOU, YOURSELF ORCHESTRATED) on Ron Paul supporters!!!! You select SPECIFIC WORDS designed to position RP supporters as a THREAT to the nation: political terrorists, wreckers, saboteurs, destroyers, etc. These strategic words will attempt to make the name Ron Paul a dirty word and ANYONE associated with it... a national threat and the SOLE REASON for whatever "Obama" (Obama, democrats AND republicans) do before 2016.

Thanks for reading... that was very... therapeutic.

Brother Winston Smith

The r3VOLution is NOT republiCAN.

I think as a "loyal republican"

you are pert near an idiot. What is there to be loyal about in the republican party?

I would be very pleased if I could get credit for taking down Romney. Taking Romney down is a worthwhile goal whether one gets credit or blame.

Send him back.

Romney Never.

Never, Never Never.

I say good

Let them blame us all they want. Maybe they won't be so quick to throw us under the bus next time if they do see not winning us over as the reason they lost.

And I challenge you as an elected Florida PCO to at least leave your POTUS vote blank, but don't vote for Romney, I won't be. There a few elected GOP officials that have already openly endorsed Johnson in NH as well as a GOP candidate too, so you won't be alone.

If you won't do that, at least encourage everyone you know to write in Ron Paul or vote for a 3rd party candidate. We need Romney to lose if a Liberty Republican is going to have a chance in 2016.

I am!

What makes you think....

there will be an election in 2016?

Minnesota Mary

If we don't give up our guns

we will always have elections

What makes you think there is

What makes you think there is a real election in 2012?

My point is to say, which is better if you are in control, the appearance of a real election or outright dictatorship? The appearance of choice is much better, because it keeps so many in denial and keeps so many spinning their wheels trying to fight in a corrupt system.

How many of you have seen ANY Romney or Obama yard signs or bumper stickers?? NONE for me. I still have my Ron Paul bumper stickers on my car and I had my Ron Paul lawn signs out until my association made me take them down. IMHO, I think Obama is the chosen one for a second term. Romney has been too quiet and seems like he isn't even trying unless it was to keep Dr Paul from winning the nomination. Then he crawled out from under his rock to stop the Paul delegates, caucus's and conventions. The elite knew that if Dr Paul won the nomination that he could and would beat Obama. There is no grass roots support for Romney or Obama and no enthusiasm for either candidate. It is corrupt and the outcome has already been determined. It's now up to the Liberty movement to determine what Plan B is when it all hits the fan.

You know what, I haven't either

I'm going to keep an eye out for signs promoting either Romney or Obama. I've just seen Ron Paul and Gary Johnson :-)

I have thought the same for quite some time now; it wasn't just the RNC against Dr. Paul, it was the WHOLE system. From the moment Dr. Paul announced he was running, I bet strings were being pulled and people put in place just to counter the movement.

2008 stickers everywhere

I've seen the older 2008 stickers for Obama and 1 for romney that said "Believe in America" which I am guessing was his slogan for 2008 as well.

Yes, I think they could be playing some strategy......

to divide the republican party.

Today politico published and article saying Paul Ryan refers to Romney as "the stench". This is like purposefully sabotaging your own campaign for VP. What kind of idiot does that, unless they have $ome real good rea$on$.

As I've said many times, a few people at the top decide the election for president before it ever takes place. And it looks like they're pulling a lot of moves to get the voters quarreling over red tyranny vs blue tyranny.

That was not

a serious article. It was supposed to be funny.

I don't give a hoot.

Boehner did it in '08, they went well beyond overboard in '12. They silenced us from the get go and used physical abuse along the way.

I will never support a party again.

RNC, DNC, Libs LISTEN UP: I look at voting records. If they don't support and vote the Constitution, Liberty, I reject them. This is the USA!!

Get your ass OUT Of the nwo/UN. I want the corrupt Fed ended! Hear my words!

YOU don't have to vote for Romney. Why would you make a...

...statement like THAT???

You said (quote); "Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking anyone here to vote for Romney. It's bad enough that I have to."

And don't worry, I will be more than happy to take any blame for losing in November.

I'm voting for principle only.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."

There are things called honor and integrity...

Perhaps I'm wrong, but sometimes people make promises to get elected. We moan and complain when they don't keep their promises. I assume to get elected the County GOP Chairmen in an 80% Republican county while openly supporting Ron Paul, that you would have to make a promise to your constituents that you will support the nominee. In Texas, several of our National Delegates had to promise to support the nominee when lobbying for votes to get support from GOP loyalists.

Also, many here are suggesting that working through the GOP is a lost cause, and I tend to agree, but it's still necessary and we shouldn't kill our own for working that route.

There are 3 ways to bring the change we all want, and all 3 are necessary. But one has proved most effective overtime. One, become a politician to bring about change. Two, work through the party process to lobby your representatives for the change you want. And three, civil disobedience which has proved to be most effective over time...think Rosa Parks, Gandhi, anti-slavery riots, etc.

Politicians will always reflect the will of the people, but the people have no will right now. Working through the party process affects politicians....civil disobedience affects the people. The people are the problem.

Inside the convention hall in Tampa there were maybe 15,000 to 20,000 people. Outside the convention hall there were about 300 million.

But we also need people inside and on stage...

Their goal is to destroy the

Their goal is to destroy the RATpubliCON party. They are being very successful of it, too. There's no longer any reason for ANY of us to remain as RATpubliCONs anymore. The best thing the establishment can do right now for themselves. Is to destroy one party while forming another. An Illusion of a "NEW" choice. This is why I believe it is NOW our time to get this REAL new party going. And NOT let them co-opt it, like the tea party was.

That may have been the plan all along.

I mean...come on. I don't for one minute believe they could have thought Romney could win against Obama. Well...then again, who are we dealing with? (er-HEM!)
We all tried to tell the "inner circle" of the republican party and all those faux TEA party leaders that what they were doing in supporting Romney was going lose the big one. Ron Paul was their only shot at gaining back the white house because Ron Paul appealed to democrats as well as republicans and independents.
Unless they honestly thought Romney could win because of their belief that Obama is just that terrible. But Romney has nothing to offer BUT Obama. He is in fact so much like Obama that even that doesn't get him anywhere in the polling.
As far as taking the blame goes...
BRING IT ON. I stand guilty as charged.
Blame me. Because I ..."told ya so"

Who Cares? I accept their

Who Cares? I accept their label of scapegoat. What of it? I've been saying for almost a year now: if you don't want Barack Obama for another four years you had better nominate Ron Paul. Anyone with even an ounce of political acumen knows this. In other words, the GOP knew well what they were doing from the outset. They stopped cooperating a long time ago. This isn't brain surgery, folks. If they truly wanted the White House, they would have nominated Ron Paul to begin with. The irony is, they had the less informed convinced Ron Paul was unelectable, when in truth, he was the only electable one of the lot.

Romney doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell. The only conclusion a thinking person can come to is that winning the White House was not the objective. BTW, I think you are correct in your analysis. It was more important to take out the liberty contingent than it was to win the White House. Romney, the ringer. Obama, four more years. What a shame. We tried to warn you.

I will vote for Gary Johnson or write in Ron Paul. I will not vote for Mitt Romney.

9/11 Truth.

We've gotta teach the GOP/RNC a lesson

Lesson 1: You will not get my vote for blacking out the best candidate.
Lesson 2: Your days are numbered, just like all corrupt regimes, the sooner the better.
Lesson 3: You can not disenfranchise people in your party and expect them to just forgive and forget your crimes and vote for your guy.
Lesson 4: There is a new party emerging withing the old RNC and the older criminal element is about to vacate the premises, You will witness it this election cycle.
Lesson 5: You (GOP) is the same as the democrats, we saw that last election. What changed when Obama got elected? Nothing.

You maight want to do a little research

Obama was vetted in The New Party, which was established in 1992

It's very interesting what you will find searching, The New Party

good list

You really think the GOP/RNC are smart enough to learn from that?? I haven't seen any evidence of it yet, they still keep stumblin' on...

But, maybe the lightbulb will go on someday, especially when they get creamed! Either that, or they already know and all this is just 'Theatre', hard to say. I don't trust them either way.

I've been thinking the same thing.

The GOP establishment's main goal was to steal the election from Ron Paul. Mitt Romney and the GOP establishment could care less if they win or lose.

I think

none of these egomaniacs want to lose.
