Four Candidates Confirmed for the 2012 Presidential Debate Hosted by Free and Equal Elections Foundation

Free and Equal Elections Foundation announced today that four candidates have confirmed their participation in the 2012 Presidential Debate at the University Club of Chicago on October 23: Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson, Green Party candidate Jill Stein, Constitution Party candidate Virgil Goode, and Justice Party candidate Rocky Anderson.
This debate is the only 2012 Presidential Debate featuring four candidates. The top six candidates were invited to participate. Democratic Party candidate and incumbent Barack Obama and Republican Party candidate Mitt Romney are welcome to participate in this historic debate. The moderator will be announced shortly.

It is absolutely pathetic that Obama and Romney have declined this debate. I think this fact needs more publicity. These people are supposedly the "front-runners" to be our next president? And they won't even participate in a debate that includes other candidates? These two men deserve nobody's vote.

Earlier I heard that GJ was fighting to be a part of the debates, incl the 10/3 debate coming up. Any updates on this?
I have no idea..
But I do know that every 4 years the libertarians candidate has done everything short of crashing the Democrat and Republican dog and pony show debates and the results have always been the same.
It makes much more sense to me to promote this debate and pressure/beg/plead enough media to both interview Christina Tobin before the debate and broadcast it live.

Should be promoting this debate. He wants to be in the debates in 2016, and the Demoblicans aren't going to just let him come to their debate/party, and it's impossible for us to give him the assurance he wants that we could get him in those debates. So make this one something the media comes to and millions and millions watch.

The official televised big
The official televised big network debates (where team D and team R show up) have been rigged for a couple decades now. The team D and Team R guy will only appear in "debates" that are essentially totally scripted. There was report on it linked from LRC a couple months ago or so. The official debates are about as real as the typical reality show.

We were talking about I'd agree with you, Barr would have wanted to debate himself while doing his best acting job to show us what a Paul supporter/ man of liberty he really is... but this is 2012 and so far Gary Johnson has shown much more class than Barr could ever be capable of when talking to the Ron Paul r3volution.
