The Math Doesn't lie - We've Got Bigger Problems Then Elections!

This really lays out how we are in serious trouble and how it will seem almost fine right up until the collapse of things and not only will it be financial and economical but it will be energy food water and environment. How it keeps expanding exponentially. While there is a bit of a slant on it (isn't there always?) I believe these guys lay out just how dangerously close we really are. Before you dismiss this as just more doom and gloom hype these guys really give the whys and numbers better then most..

They also talk about peak oil but not like you think they explain it's not that we are going to run out its that production is already behind demand and that will make prices skyrocket at some point. I usually don't listen to peak oil arguments much but these guys make a lot of sense.

I think there is a lot of info in there that people need to know and understand...

"Economist Richard Duncan: Civilization May Not Survive 'Death Spiral'
By Terry Weiss, Money Morning

Richard Duncan, formerly of the World Bank and chief economist at Blackhorse Asset Mgmt., says America's $16 trillion federal debt has escalated into a "death spiral, "as he told CNBC.

And it could result in a depression so severe that he doesn't "think our civilization could survive it."

And Duncan is not alone in warning that the U.S. economy may go into a "death spiral."

Since the recession, noted economists including Laurence Kotlikoff, a former member of President Reagan's Council of Economic Advisers, have come to similar conclusions.

Kotlikoff estimates the true fiscal gap is $211 trillion when unfunded entitlements like Social Security and Medicare are included.

However, while the debt crisis numbers are well known to most Americans, the economy hasn't suffered a major correction for almost 4 years.

So the questions remain: Is the threat of collapse for real? And if so, when?

A team of scientists, economists, and geopolitical analysts believes they have proof that the threat is indeed real - and the danger imminent.

One member of this team, Chris Martenson, a pathologist and former VP of a Fortune 300 company, explains their findings:

"We found an identical pattern in our debt, total credit market, and money supply that guarantees they're going to fail. This pattern is nearly the same as in any pyramid scheme, one that escalates exponentially fast before it collapses. Governments around the globe are chiefly responsible."

I think every one of these experts are underestimating the possible speed and breadth of their problems. When you factor in human nature, global instant news, and things like hoarding, each of these problems could actually blow up before I finish this comment. It's that interdependent.

However, I also think these guys underestimate the solutions. I personally know of guaranteed solutions to each problem and many of them solve two crises and other problems too. The real problem is that all of these solutions are stuck in a loop between the rock (people don't believe we need them yet) and a hard place (funding only comes from those who want to rape it for eternal profits.

Solve the funding problems and you'll see all these problems go away completely within just a few years.

After 10%+ inflation for the

After 10%+ inflation for the years 2014-2018, the debt will be essentially cut in half, as will social benefits, they will move the retirement age to 67-72 range and keep this system going until around 2050. Remember, as bad as it is in the US, it is that bad or worse in every other country, and until China is able to overtake us, which will be at least 2050, the US rules the world. There ARE people that KNOW exactly what the future holds in the financial sense, and it is scripted in the political sense, so everything you hear that is a scare tactic is just that. Now if you are on a fixed income, or poor, it WILL be VERY painful when inflation sets in, about 2 years from now.

You are greatly overestimating the staying power of the Dollar in coming years. The manipulation of gold and silver and the borrowing of money can only work so long and it will not be measured in decades. China and other major economic countries are investing heavily in pressure metals for a reason, they see the writing on the wall.

Frankly it will be nothing short of a miracle if there is not a complete collapse of the dollar and then the world economy in the next 1-3 years.

Peak oil=
oil at $15.00/barrel=peak oil in 1989
oil at $60.00/barrel= peak oil in 1997
oil at $100.00/barrel=peak oil in 2025
oil at $200.00/barrel=peak oil in 2990
2/3rds of the earth is covered in water so when is peak water? I kept looking for Al Gore in that youtube.

Biggest problem they discussed is the government run away spending and printing worthless money.

It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people that pay no price for being wrong.

I hate just posting problems and sounding all doom and gloom so I wanted to post some thoughts and solutions I jotted down while watching the video:

I came away from it realizing that it's not just financial collapse we need to worry about. Even if we were to fix that (doubtful) society is crumbling in other ways and is not sustainable. Water is becoming an increasing problem and the oil based economy is completely unsustainable. That doesn't mean we will run out it means there will not be enough to go around at our current expansion rates that keep doubling exponentially.

We have to change and we have to do it now to lessen the impact but it is probably to late to avoid lots of pain.

Here's some points and solutions I jotted down

Problem: petroleum based factory farming is unsustainable and ruining the environment with pesticides and GMOs the food travels an average of 1400 miles to get to our tables. It all eats a ton of energy too.

Solutions: We need local/regional food production, Aquaponics and green house tech can save us energy increase yields and use only 10% of the water with vastly less travel to our tables. It needs to be natural and organic heirloom and non-hybrid in most cases.

Problem: Oil is peaking as far as production meaning we produce less then we did 30 years ago but demand is higher and increasing. The low hanging fruit (easy to get oil) is much less now days (we have got most of it) and shale and other means is harder and more expensive to get and process so prices will be going up while production continues to decrease...

Solutions: Ethanol, Biodiesel, methane, and wood gas/gasification all need to be ramped up along with research into alternative energies such as over unity devices etc... They need to be done also locally and regionally not using the gasoline model with centralized processing plants trucking fuels thousands of miles or they are not as cost effective. Also wanted to mention the idea they don't put out as much energy as they take to produce is a myth put out by big oil. We will have to cut energy use while in transition and learn to be more frugal with its use all around.

Problem: we waste tons of water and sewage and water treatment plants are not sophisticated enough to filter out exotic chemicals that we consume in medicines and food like caffeine etc. and they are showing up in the water supply now. Water use is increasing exponentially and our aquifers are not being replenished as as fast as we are depleting them.

Solution: we need to compost our manure and collect and filter rainwater locally and individually. 1 inch of rain on 1000 square feet of roof is 500 gallons of water. Nature brings water right to us but we let it get away and have to expend lots of energy to get it back out of the ground when all we need to do is collect it right were we live in most cases.

Problem: Credit based fiat debt system is completely unsustainable and could implode at any moment, we see the effects already with the 2008 crash etc. and we are heading for a bigger crash.

Solution: Sound or hard money such as gold and silver and local currencies that are backed by precious metals or commodities. Not leaving it in the hands of government anymore. No more credit based currencies and no more fractional reserve period!

Obviously there are more but these are the main ones. We need a movement to a new society or at least we need to create a model of one for others to emulate IMO..

Have not

put much thought into this but Ethanol jumps out to me. I am no expert, but I am pretty sure that I have read the process to create Ethanol is counter productive for its use as an alternative. Not to mention the vast fields of corn and what not, it requires that could be used to feed people...

Government create shortages for us and surpluses for themselves

Heck, Moses warned the Pharaoh.

The Roman historian Tacitus ca 100 wrote,

A motley crowd was thus collected and abandoned in the desert. While all the other outcasts lay idly lamenting, one of them, named Moses, advised them not to look for help to gods or men, since both had deserted them, but to trust rather in themselves, and accept as divine the guidance of the first being, by whose aid they should get out of their present plight.

Seventy five years earlier Strabo, a Greek historian, geographer reoprts an Egyptian priest named Moses

[Moses] taught that the Egyptians and Africans entertained erroneous sentiments, in representing the Divinity under the likeness of wild beasts and cattle of the field; that the Greeks also were in error in making images of their gods after the human form. For God [said he] may be this one thing which encompasses us all, land and sea, which we call heaven, or the universe, or the nature of things.

Tolkien referenced Divinity as the Right to power. Monarchs often claim Divinity in order to claim the right to wield power unlimited.

Hoppe's Democracy: the god that failed dethrones another false Divinity as Jung had dethroned psyche.

Autonomous means self-ruled. It is a moral duty to act in my own best interest. Am I standing under what I ought understand. Zarathustra doesn't care if you are free of something. He asks, "Free for what".

The sad truth of history is that it never teaches us anything.

Free includes debt-free!

I tend to agree with you but

I tend to agree with you but these shortages are not just fake ones to enrich government and oppress people it will collapse all current governments too. This is serious and if we do not take it serious and prepare for it the pain will be that much worse for us as individuals IMO.

We can't afford to just write this off as another government scam. it has gotten away from them in their arrogance. Now you know why the elites have bought property in South America and government has built underground cities and are stocking up on supplies ammo and equipment.

Most people will dismiss this with normalcy bias it is to far out for them to even consider.

Truer words have never been spoken here.

The normalcy bias, even in this comment thread, is so pervasive that it is virtually guaranteeing the crises and accelerating their approach.

What's it take to get people to rally around some action when the very future of their race is at stake?

I've researched each of these impending crises and a few more. Basically, I find that each and every one could potentially be a game ender (for a majority of people and certainly our way of life) within a matter of days or weeks. We could already be in that 8 minute window referenced in another comment where we just haven't heard about the beginning yet. Why can't we focus a little more on action, rather than endless debate?

Just a note

This is an excellent video. At least some people are talking about the problems we face.

Didn't bother me too much

I worry a little about water but not too much.

I think peak oil is real but we should never run out of oil. We are running out of inexpensive, easy to find oil, but I'm convinced that we will start converting to something new prior to 2025. (If we didn't police the world we could save massive amounts of oil/gas. The US military is also the largest polluter on earth)

Not worried about robots. I think they will be great. (although I dispise drones)

I'm looking forward to the currency collapse. The sooner we get a reset in the banking system the sooner things will turn around. Also, I've been telling people for almost 3 years to stay away from stocks and buy Silver, Gold and guns. When the system finally goes down, the people that have yet to heed my wake up calls will hopefully start listening to what I've been saying.

And I totally disagree with the guy worried about a terrorist attack. Unless, it's done by our own government. I do not worry about radical muslims or right wing extremists....I worry about the CIA, FBI, etc.

I agree we need to de-centralize and start buying our food and products locally.

I didn't care too much for the way they all were selling fear. As I have said many times...I fear nothing or no one, other than our government and the police. Sad but true.

Why would you think we would

Why would you think we would be on to something new in 2025? We have had the technology to be energy independent for a century and the politicians have kept us dependent on oil and 140 year old tech for transportation anyway. There is lots of things we could be doing "IF" but the point is we are not doing it and the they are leading us off the cliff trying to perpetuate this whole unsustainable system as it keeps doubling size/needs exponentially...

Its not just going to be a currency collapse that is the point. If you haven't watched the video you owe it yourself to watch it. Very important!

The problem with your 2025

The problem with your 2025 prediction is we have nothing that comes close to petroleum. Do you realize how many petroleum products surround you as you type? Petroleum is far more than just energy. Everything made from plastic, including the keyboard you type with would not be without petroleum. The colors in your cloths, tooth brush, cell phone, solar panels, just about everything and the list goes on and on. It will take thousands of revolutionary inventions to produce (without petroleum) the simple products we use everyday.

If Henry Ford could build and power a car from hemp, I think a toothbrush would be pretty simple. Oil and synthetics are the real reason hemp was made illegal to begin with.

I agree, speedyman! The wars will last as long as the petrodollar is still king of the heap. And the cental bankers will continue the wars to protectthe dollar's status as long as there is still some wealth left in America to steal...so, if it is inevitable, the sooner the better.

Wanting for an entire collapse

of our dollar is like playing directly into the hand of the elite. They want this as well, for it will give them more opportunity to enslave us if you think about it. They have everything in place already to control what they are ultimately causing, so why would we want this or wish for it?

Better to concentrate on Ending the Fed's fiat system and backing our currency with gold once again. Although people think that it will take a collapse to do this, they are wrong.

Just like they have everything in place for a collapse, we have everything in place to build a strong currency. We simply need to remove the obstacle thats creating the problem.

Wrong, Kat.

I'm sure that the 'goldbugs', backed by information from those "in the know", who are nothing more than talking heads for the elite (who have planned for the coming downfall for decades), are relieved to see that the fall of the Fed is at hand. But unfortunately for them, what they do not know is that the alternative currency will NOT be backed by precious metals. So calling for "ending the Fed's fiat system and backing our currency with gold once again" is like spitting in the wind. Because soon, the people will rise up with a form of exchange of their own - beginning with a system of barter that will lead to an exchange of scripts, or points earned for work performed. This system will have absolutely nothing to do with the elite's hoarded supplies of precious metals. It has been prophecized.

The sun got deleted

I was listening to a RadioLab the other day and they brought up the topic of how long would it take for us to know after the sun got deleted. Not that it could ever happen but how life would go on at the instant it vanished from our solar system.
Basically nobody on Earth would notice until 8 minutes and 20 seconds later. This is how long it takes for the last bit of light and gravity to reach us. At this point the sky would go dark and all planets would leave orbit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGRA1mZJwaE (not time scaled but still interesting)

When hearing this I couldn't help but draw a parallel to the financial disaster. What if we are all within that 8:20 window going about our lives not taking a second thought about if the stocked shelves of the grocery stores will stay that way.
Not that there is anything we could ever hope to do if the sun vanished, but the looming feeling when everyone wakes up and realizes life as we know it has abruptly changed like when our dollars become less valuable than toilet paper.

Watch how the bottom of this Slinky has no clue that that it has been dropped until the rest of it crashes into it:

It's not that we will use

It's not that we will use them up it's our use keeps doubling in expansion faster and faster and production can't keep up. So prices will skyrocket it's already happening this is why we are in the middle east and135 countries. We are already fighting over oil and resources to keep the economy expanding. It is totally unsustainable. Things are about to drastically change and most don't even realize it and will dismiss it till they are living under a bridge or in a fema camp...

Also allowing our resources to be mined and taken offshore

While staking claims, we found several claims staked by Russians, Chinese, Canadians. The bankrupt county we used to live in is letting Canada come in and turn one of their mountains into "the biggest hole in America" and bragging about "the jobs." These morons do not realize that is THEIR silver, copper and molybdenum that CANADIANS will take away from them, and they WANT to go dig it out for the Canucks for minimum wage rather than go stake the claim and be the mine OWNER.
Mind you, I hold no ill will against the people coming in to take our precious metals, as I do not begrudge "illegal aliens" their efforts to improve their lives. I have a BIG problem with the bureaucrats who allow this to happen.

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.
