Quintessential Catch-22 limits debates

The presidential debates begin Wednesday. Unfortunately, Americans will only be receiving half the needed information.

Debates are an important and time-honored way for Americans to learn about their candidates. Elections have been won or lost based on debate performance.

But it is an undemocratic lie.

The Commission on Presidential Debates, a tool of the Republican and Democratic parties and the major media outlets, has made it impossible for anyone but the two candidates from the two evil parties to participate.

According to the commission’s own mission statement, it is supposed to ensure that the debates “provide the best possible information to viewers and listeners.” But how can that happen when only two candidates are ever permitted to participate?
