Ron Paul is an Official Write-In Candidate...in Maine :)

I received word this morning that Ron Paul is an official write in candidate in Maine. Pretty cool, huh! Maine did everything they needed to do to get him on the ballot and they also got a Vice President on the ballot. They were even able to get the 4 electors who will go to the electoral college if Ron Paul were to win Maine.

You can see it here: http://www.maine.gov/sos/cec/elec/2012/writeinnov2012.pdf

So, if you are in Maine, you can write in Ron Paul for President and Mark Willis for Vice President. Mark Willis is Maine’s new national committeeman.

I think it would just be great if Ron Paul won Maine in November. Most likely it won’t make a difference in the general election, but at least Maine could send a message to the Nation as to who we really want as President. If only we all could move to Maine just for November.

You can also hear a short radio broadcast about this at this link: http://www.hark.com/clips/lrqqyjpygy-ronpaulmaine

yes, usually

when a candidate gets themselves on the ballot they submit electors to represent them. So if the candidate wins then his/her electors in turn win so to speak. In many states you have to declare a write-in beforehand and have electors already submitted to the state for that write-in (before election takes place). Every state is a bit different though.

In the case of major parties, they voted on their electors at their state conventions (at least in some states). Those electors then represent whoever got nominated at the National convention--> in theory, usually. Of course they don't HAVE to.

Go Maine!

Yeah!Good job Maine! Nice to read this after weeks of feeling like nothing was moving forward, keeping my faith in God, I believe we can do a little more to wake people up before this election is over.If everyone bands together we can get it done in other states as well and be able to vote for who we truly want and believe in.

Oregon Allows Write-Ins for all Candidate Positions

So simply write Ron Paul in as President - In Oregon.

John Locke #201, 202, 212 to 232; Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions 1798; Virginia Ratifying Convention 6-16-1788; Rights of the Colonists 1772.

true but

they are only tallied as write-ins: 24,986 or whatever.
Unless it looks like write-in is winning then they will go through and read them and tally them. Then we get to see how many voted for Micky Mouse....there are always a few. I think a candidate can declare a write-in and that might be different....maybe it gets tallied?

This should get interesting...

Wouldn't it be great if the race was really Ron Paul Vs Gary Johnson...

Well,one can dream, right?

Wishing I lived in Maine!

Wishing I lived in Maine!

Wow!

This is great. If Ron Paul were to win Maine, it would send a SHOCKWAVE through the country.

It would definitely send a

It would definitely send a message if Ron Paul could win Maine. I assume you are making some kind of plans to make sure those votes are counted properly.

Remember the

Maine!

Vote Johnson

I encourage everyone to write in Gary Johnson to send a serious message this time and set the stage for the continuing revolution in 2013 and beyond. Paul wants us to fight the revolution.

I asked Johnson if he saw himself a national leader in the movement. He is humble but he does. We need national spokespeople. The good Dr. wants to retire and we should let him.

I sent this to my local paper and was called on the carpet by the local Republicans:

Most Americans believe the national government is broken. Less than 10 percent of citizens think the Congress is doing a good job. The president's approval rating is below 50 percent. Candidate Romney's approval rating is even lower. We are in the midst of a debt crisis that seemingly has no end in sight. The Federal Reserve prints money out of thin air and bails out bankers when it should be allowing them to fail. The permanent bureaucracy in Washington keeps growing, even as people throughout the country are losing their savings and their livelihoods. Government cash transfers continue to increase such that nearly a majority of citizens is receiving some form of transfer payment from taxpayers via the federal government. The overseas wars go on and on, and we don't seem to even know what our objectives are anymore. The corporate media has become a self-serving morass of bias and ineptitude. Politicos tell them what to report and what not to report. The free press is gone.

Washington politicians are essentially owned by huge investment banks, unions, and corporate interests that buy influence. Lawyers, rather than statesmen, are running the show. The reality is that a fascist oligarchy has replaced the representative republic. The people no longer have a voice.

What do we do about it? We must fight back. The outsiders must regain control from the insiders.

I have little hope that either national political party can or will do anything to disrupt the status quo. Consequently, I don't have any faith in either President Obama or candidate Romney to make much of a difference. The corruption is too entrenched. Both major parties are in on the game. We must disrupt the two-party system that has allowed the oligarchy to grow.

That is why I made the decision to get behind former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson for president of the United States. Johnson may have been the most effective governor in the history of the United States. He is an honest man from outside the Washington establishment who wants to disrupt the status quo. He will balance the budget immediately and create transparency in Washington. He has no ties to the bureaucracy or the corporatocracy that would compromise his decision-making. He doesn't take himself too seriously. We need a common-sense reformer like Gary Johnson in Washington.

It is important that enough of us get behind Gov. Johnson so he can get on the ballot in all 50 states and be included in the presidential debates. When people hear his refreshing libertarian message, they like it. Johnson, like his counterpart Ron Paul before him, will speak out boldly against corruption and the unholy alliance between government, unions, banks and corporations. He will challenge the hegemony of the all-too-powerful Federal Reserve System. He will push for fundamental reform.

Please join me and many other independent-thinking outsiders in getting behind the people's candidate, Gary Johnson, for president of the United States.

What the fuck does this have to do with a Ron Paul

Write-in in Maine you fool. No Ron Paul supporter will ever vote for Gary Johnson in Maine.
Don't you even understand what the Ron Paul movement is about?

No Ron Paul supporter will

No Ron Paul supporter will ever vote for Gary Johnson in Maine.

Wrong, I know many, and I mean A LOT of us that ARE voting GJ. And it has every bit to do with the movement. Not the Ron Paul movement, but the LIBERTY MOVEMENT!

Gary Johnson

Is pro-choice not pro-life so no republican Ron Paul supporter will vote for Johnson in Maine.

Wrong again. My neighbor is a

Wrong again. My neighbor is a Ron Paul republican and pro-life, and he's voting for Gary Johnson because he knows this is bigger than a single issue. I'm a libertarian so your comment doesn't apply to me.

You're assuming Abortion is a key issue...

For a bunch of us, it's not. I honestly don't care one way or another, and yet I'm a HUGE supporter of Ron Paul.

In most of the other issues, Gary Johnson, who is running and on the ballot on 47+ states, is pretty close to Ron Paul, who isn't running and whose write-ins won't be counted.

I am a Republican and I will definitely be voting for Gary Johnson. And I'm sure tons of other Ron Paul fans are as well. I respect people's right to vote for whomever they want, but writing in Ron Paul is not pushing the Liberty movement forward whatsoever, whereas voting for Gary Johnson has a real potential to help promote Liberty. It's not about the Man, it's about the Message - Ron Paul has said that hundreds of times - and voting for Gary Johnson helps promote the Message - writing in Ron Paul does not.

If you could somehow guarantee that the national number of Ron Paul write-in votes were counted and then read on television, then you might have a case that you're "making a statement", but I guarantee you they will not count them and definitely won't announce the numbers. Not a snowballs chance in hell, unless maybe the Romney campaign wants to scape-goat the Ron Paul supporters when Romney gets crushed. And that kind of scapegoating will not help the Liberty movement either, it'll only hurt it.

So in my eyes, voting for Gary Johnson is the only thing that makes sense. If Ron or Rand run again in 2016, I will be 110% behind them, as I was this year, but neither one of them is running or on the ballot, so we need to concentrate on what will move the message forward!

Wrong again. My neighbor is a

Wrong again. My neighbor is a pro-life Ron Paul republican ( will never vote repub again) that is voting Gary Johnson because he knows its about more than a single issue. I'm libertarian, so your comment doesn't apply to me.

Are any other states participating

in the write-in campaign? I would love to be able to do that in Ohio and have my vote count. We are a swing state and Romney is behind by 9% (awesome) but I think we'd garner quite a few votes here because we have a large Tea Party presence and they're not happy with Romney.

Yes,

look up online the write in campaigns. There are several. I don't know which one
was used here in Maine.

Ron Paul is My President

Mark Willis for Vice President.... BUT NOT YET!!!

OK... so I read this today and laughed out loud with glee at the idea of my friend and fellow ousted delegation member Mark Willis being Vice President! My instant thought was, "I can write in Willis for VP!" ...and then my second thought was... "THERE IS NO FLIPPING WAY MARK PUT HIMSELF ON THIS BALLOT! Does he even know he is on here???"

He has been working hard to bring liberty into the Republican party as Maine's National Committeeman, and I can't imagine that he would want to tank that by running. And if he wanted to run, he would just flat out run.

Mark Willis for VP in 2016!

Awesome job, write-in for Ron Paul!!

We need to get other states on board and mail superbrochures to those states.

Ron Paul President 2012

Get Well Nevada National Delegate Jim Uprichard!!

As Maine goes

so goes the nation.
Thank you Maine!
I believe there's also a good chance Ron Paul can win Iowa and New Hampshire. We really need to focus on those states that count write in votes and ensure those vote are counted.

If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.
James Madison

the freedom movement

needs to organize to win one state. That would be a beautiful thing to see and would send a very strong message, hopefully we control enough of the apparatus in Maine to allow a clean vote, because the effort will not be worth it if we don't have a fair election.

Thanks Dr. Paul & www.WriteInREVOLUTION.com !!!!!!

I am ABSOLUTELY convinced that we at www.WriteInREVOLUTION.com can take credit for convincing Ron Paul to register for the sake of our project. We sent him a letter along urging him to register, an explanation of the WriteInREVOLUTION Project, and the registration forms for states with open deadlines, and he responded!!!!! Now we need to focus on getting the word out to promote the project!!!!!!!!!!

I just joined and you should create a post with that link in it.
