Washington Times: When all else fails, blame the Paulbots

Great article by Andreatta Geerdes. I hope to see a lot more from her in the future!

WASHINGTON, September 30, 2012 — Suddenly, Ron Paul's supporters are relevant. You remember Ron Paul — that old Republican guy who ran for president. His non-interventionist foreign policy ideas were considered kooky during the Republican debates but have since landed him interviews on Fox.

He is the guy who barely cracked 10 percent in the primaries but managed to attract tens of thousands of people, from all walks of life, to his rallies during the primary season. People lined up to hear Paul speak about free-market economics and Constitutional government.

Yet his lively supporters were dismissed as "Paulbots" and "Paultards."

But if breitbart.com, glennbeck.com, and others are correct, the Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, may have difficulty defeating Barack Obama if the Paulbots don't fall in line and vote for Mitt.
Various commentators are pleading with the Paulians (and other libertarian and Constitutionally minded voters) not to split the vote and give Obama four more years.

One of the big themes in the forums is that write-ins are not counted or reported. If that is the case, what good will it do to write Dr Paul's name in? I ask because I am still torn over the issue. I would prefer to write Dr Paul in, but if it wont even register as a blip on the public radar, wouldn't it be better to vote GJ?

I wouldn't say holding Ron paul RepubliCANs who took elected offices to loyalty oaths "pleading".

but USUALLY when a BTCH has served his or her purpose... they are usually discarded like used toilet paper. Ha, I guess you could call these poor chumps RepubliCANNED.

Brother Winston Smith

The r3VOLution is NOT republiCAN.

We'll see who the chumps are

and it's not me.

Are you going

to take back your proud loyal vote when Rombama ignores his oath to uphold the constitution?

Hell no

I'm going to continue to vote NO to unconstitutional resolution, inniatives, platforms and going to remain seated so I can help liberty candidates in the GOP and Rand Paul.

What I look forward to is seeing how those who wrote in Ron paul feel in January when they find out they were mislead, or those who voted for GJ who will return to the GOP.

I have never seen a loyalty oath

that requires you to vote for any specific person or party. I doubt if your's did and I think you use it as an excuse rather than it being the real reason you are going to vote for Mitt.

Free and Brave
or Cradle to Grave
You can't have both

When you get a committee seat

The County Clerk askes you to sign three papers.
1. Loyalty to the Constitution
2 Loyalty to Party/By-Laws
3. a 470, will not commit pergury

My by-laws under section C. REMOVAL lists: not supporting the party's nominee.

Some say I could "cheat" since ballots are secret, however, my ballot is mailed to me with two envelopes, one that I put the ballot into and must sign, that goes in another envelope addressed to the county clerk.. I could also drop the ballot off at a specific polling place that is run by the treasurer of my committee who says she opens the envelopes to place the ballot in a special box. So what stops them from peeking?

I'm not going to take any chance.. there are NO candidates I like and writing in Ron Paul is not going to remove Obama, or will it be counted as Ron Paul did not register as a write in candidate. Obama deserve to win, so my vote goes to the Republican, Romney.

if you

change your mind just right RON PAUL
Mitt is going to loose any way

Not me

Ron Paul is NOT a write-in candidate in CA, people here are being mislead and since they are REACTING out of frustration, anger, hate, they have lost their way, dropped the message and are in fior some huge dissappointments. They should do what they want. I've got my focus thanks to Ron Paul.. they've got their own thing.

Romney could win the race by his electoral votes.. that's going to empower Ron Paul Republicans who are elected. If people here were not so angry, they would see the opportunity instead of crap.

I don't mind writing in Ron

I don't mind writing in Ron Paul even if it isn't counted, but my only concern is if it will disqualify my whole ballot. I have a liberty candidate running in my state senate district as a republican and would hate for him to lose just because his base's ballots are counted by writing in ron paul. anyone know if this could happen?

Down with the Party of Lincoln!

"You must be frank with the world; frankness is the child of honesty and courage...Never do anything wrong to make a friend or keep one...Above all do not appear to others what you are not" - Robert E. Lee, CSA

I don't know about anyone else...

But, I want to see Romney (and the GOP) lose more than I care if Obama gets re-elected. Romney and the Republicans losing is a greater tactical victory for the Liberty Movement.

I'm not falling for the four-year fire drill anymore. "if the other guy wins its the end of America as we know it". We're already seeing the end of America as we know it and the Republicans are part of the reason why.

When the Romney loses in November the Republican party will be greatly weakened. Either it will rebuild along stronger libertarian lines or it will fall apart and the message of Liberty will become much clearer to America.

GREAT POST! My feelings

GREAT POST! My feelings exactly!

Why should we care when we can vote for a candidate that is not Obama or Romney and certainly not a clone of Obama and thus not the lesser of 2 evils?
We will have a clear conscience, will you?

Irrelevant. Evil is evil. There's no such thing as "less evil"

It does not matter which of those two wins. We still get evil.

I'm not voting for either one.

Anyone who insists those are my only two choices, is an asinine moron.

I have 11 choices on my ballot. Not counting Romney or Obama, or any socialist candidates, I have 5 choices that are on the surface "not evil."

I think they're...

two different flavors of the same one-party masquerading as two parties... evil.

The establishment's two-party system is a fly-paper for capturing people's political sovereignty.

Writing Dr. Paul's vote will

Writing Dr. Paul's vote will be the happiest vote I've ever cast. I have never voted for anyone more worthy of public office.

Hope it makes you happy

but writing in someone who is not even a candidate is
not just meaningless in the larger scheme of things
it is actually helping to enable the continued Demopublican
duopoly/stranglehold on the electoral process...

Actually it's not helping to

Actually it's not helping to enable anything. I saw what happens in my state if we get the numbers and votes in favor of a liberty candidate. Even if Paul won my state (Maine), through write in they would never let it get public. Voting at all is borderline meaningless, so why not be happy doing it? i'm glad you're concerned for my happiness though b

THEY are the ones that spilt

THEY are the ones that spilt the vote.

i'm still sporting my Ron Paul yard sign

i'm still sporting my Ron Paul yard sign bumper sticker and car magnet sign, and they'll be up til the election. i think i'd be a hypocrite to not write him in! it wouldn't be the first time i wrote in Ron Paul either!!!!!

My yard sign is staying up

My yard sign is staying up until after the election. It's also a good way to keep the Romney and Obama walkers away from the house. In a swing state they are worse than the religion salesmen!

"The purpose of morality is to teach you, not to suffer and die, but to enjoy yourself and live." -Ayn Rand

Mine too! Right next to the Justin Amash yard signs

I have a fairly large Ron

I have a fairly large Ron Paul sign in my apartment window. Right next to it, though, is a Gary Johnson 2012 sign. That's what I'm doing in November, but the Ron Paul ideas are still right there. In fact, a local politician running for a state house spot came by knocking on doors today. I'll go ahead and mention his name, Carter Kessler. He noticed my sign(s), and he said he was the Ron Paul district leader here during the campaign. That's pretty awesome.

Why until the election?

I think it's fair to say that "Ron Paul" is about much more than the presidential election farce. If there is still an internet in 2013, then your signs and stickers could still get people to look up and wake up.

My bumper sticker is staying on because no matter which puppet is chosen, a lot of people will remember Paul and what he said. As things get worse more will notice and will want to know how to link themselves with the like-minded people.

Write In Vote

I love how we are relevant all of a sudden. The neocons' days are numbered, they just don't know it yet.

My plan at this point is to write in Dr. Paul. We have the electronic voting machines where I am, and if writing in a candidate is not on the ballot, I will have prepared a piece of paper with his name on it in an envelope. I worked hard during the primaries this time and in the '08 cycle. I will not compromise now. I must stand on principle.

They can reject it, they can accept it or throw it away, but it is my vote and I believe very sincerely if I go in there and vote for somebody I know I don't like and that I feel in my heart is not worthy or unqualified for the position, then I am responsible for the mistakes they make. My conscience will not allow anything but a write in for Dr. Paul. I have to be able to sleep for the next 4 years.

it can function in spite of the fact that its members
disagree in many judgments of value."
