Letter: Libertarian candidate offers a credible third-party choice

With the presidential election less than six weeeks away, it is interesting to see the opinions given by people, the press or social media about who they will or will not vote for. The Democrats call for “staying the course,” while the Republicans ask “are you better off than four years ago?”

For the past 25 years,or so, this country has seen nothing more than decline and governmental inertia. It seems the wishes of the people are not heard, and the government stumbles from one partisan crisis to another with no end in sight. It has been said that 80 percent of the electorate would vote for a credible third-party candidate, if they had one.

In a recent column in The Mountain Press, John Stossel has named this candidate. He is the Libertarian Party candidate for President, Gary Johnson. As the Republican governor from the traditionally Democratic state of New Mexico from 1995 to 2003, Johnson administered his state on an anti-tax, anti- bureaucratic platform driven by cost benefit. During his term-limited tenure, Johnson built roads and revamped his state’s Medicaid and education systems. All this while he trimed the state’s bureauracy, balanced the budget and left it with a $1 billion surplus.

You will not even begin to get a "perfect" candidate unless...

the entire western monetary system is replaced and the criminals responsible are punished in some extremely memorable manner.

At least for now, Johnson is making "all the right moves" and he is electable. That cannot be realistically said of either Ron Paul or Merlin Miller.

Any Input Appreciated

I am thinking about Virgil Goode...? I have heard it said that the 3rd party voting is just a voiced dissention vote this year...do you consider it differently? I am still searching and learning so any input is appreciated.

gary johnson is roger stones puppet

gary johnson is roger stones puppet. roger stone was brought in by non-liberty federal reserve appeasers to divide the Ron Paul movement

Gary Johnson is NO ONE'S puppet

If Roger Stone was running Gary Johnson, he would be in the debates tonight. Stone has been very clear that he is fed up with the direction the GOP has taken and has switched his allegiance to the Libertarian Party that best resembles his core beliefs. Gary Johnson has a great asset in Roger Stone who has been walking the corridors of the White House years before most Ron Paul supporters were born but make NO mistake about it . . . Gary Johnson forges his own path. I wish Roger Stone was more influential in the campaign because it would place Gary Johnson that much closer to attaining the presidency.

Wondering about Gary Johnson and GOP Roger Stone

I ran across this yesterday and it has left me wondering:

From what I can tell the host on this video is the same host as on Money Masters which is a DP essential video located here: http://www.dailypaul.com/links :

I would be interested in knowing what Friends of Liberty have to say about the Still Report.

Still needs a pill

I hesitate to be unkind to Bill Still but he represents a fringe and hysterical wing of the Libertarian Party. His core beliefs are well aligned with the party but the videos cited here show Still in what can only described as a paranoid frame of mind. I wish him well and think he should stick to what he does best, making videos and let the professionals take care of politics.

Thank you for your input. It

Thank you for your input. It is very much appreciated. I am not familiar with all the wings within the Libertarian Party. I have finally extricated myself from GOP loyalty only recently when I found Ron Paul...and Friends of Liberty, which I never knew existed. Seems Still calls Ron Paul out on being a Goldbug as well...There is much to learn and figure out.

Bad guys are not funding him.
More than that Romney lawyers are fighting his ballot access!

That Still guy seems to imply

That Still guy seems to imply that the whole LP has been co-opted if I am understanding correctly. That is what alarmed me, and I think it is a very serious issue that needs to be pursued by Friends of Liberty because the last thing we need is someone co-opting Liberty. I wasn't voting GJ anyways so the video doesn't sway me one way or another. The life issue is the one that has been the dividing line for me.

RP says "Unless we understand…we must protect life, we cannot protect liberty."

I would like to know though if the LP has been co-opted by the GOP...or perhaps it is an Obama ploy to divide the Romney vote. Who knows. I wouldn't give that Still video another thought if he wasn't the maker of The Money Masters which the DP recommends as viewing. Something is not adding up and maybe it is Mr. Still.

Barr and his neo-con vp left the LP

Life issue.
GJ said he just as RP leaves this issue to the states to decide.
And he wants to appoint pro-life Judge Napolitano to SCOTUS!!!

Can you and other GJ haters f** start learning who GJ is?

Still Learning

Hi, I do not hate Gary Johnson at all. As a matter of fact I thought he was very candid in his Ron Paul Q&A interview and that he was willing to answer the hard questions and did so with what sounded to be honesty to me. I completely enjoyed his handling of the interview.

Asking questions, is not a wrong thing to do. I haven't been around long enough to know about Bob Barr. I only know that Ron Paul introduced Sanctity of Life legislation while in Congress, so he was pro active on the life issue. The only reason it is still an issue is so that voters can be divided between the Dem & Reps.

I do not like the Fair tax either. Ron Paul said we should keep the fruits of our Labor. So, there are some differences.

That being said, when I ran across that video yesterday it caused me greater concern than any of the issues.

I do not see asking a question of someone who appears to be prominent on the DP and a knowledgeable supporter of GJ something wrong to do. Who else should I ask other than GJ himself? I think I’ll look up DWalters and ask him, as I know he is a supporter of GJ and I consider him to be a friend. To me asking is how to know, and I simply want to know.

In GJ own words
"I support a womans right to chose"

SAYS nothing in a, wait for it.... SOUTH CAROLINA DEBATE about state rights.
NOT ONE WORD. If he had a states riht position, he would have said it in may of 2011, libtard,
Of course this was 5/6/2011 and he has probably FLIP FLOPPED by now but here it is right from the horses A$$!

Such a liar.
give it UP!
You and GJ are DONE!
and you KNOW IT!

more about the Still Report especially after seeing this video:

Me toooooooooooooo

Yah, I am in the middle of this one dissing gold...

One thing that I hear Dr. Paul talk about is competitive currencies. I think that may be the answer. As long as there is not a monopoly.
