Atlas Shrugged Again (Part 2) Opens October 12! Trailer

Atlas Shrugged Part 1 was not a large commercial success, but did well enough for the producers to green light part 2 which will open in over 600 cinemas on Friday, October 12, 2012. Here is the link to the movie web site.

If it is not already, you can still get the movie shown in your area by clicking on the "get involved" link and fill the "demand" spots. Part 1 was lambasted by almost every critic and opened in only about 200 cinemas. The buzz is that Part 2 is much better (Part 1 was pretty good and available to rent on DVD, or to stream on Amazon.com.) Go see Part 2 and drag some family and friends with you!

Anyone have a link

to information regarding why they didn't use the original actors?

"If this mischievous financial policy [greenbacks], which has its origin in North America, should become endurated down to a fixture, then that government will furnish its own money without cost. It will pay off its debts and be without debts. It will hav

Because there was no guaranteed Part II

As I understand it, typically actors are signed with a guarantee of work on sequels...if sequels are a certainty. There was barely funding for A.S. Part I, so Part II was hardly a certainty. When it was decided to go forward with Part II, the actors had already moved on to other projects and the production company had to start from scratch.

I don't know much about the movie business, but that explanation makes pretty good sense to me.

Update!!

The film is growing and is now nearing the 700 mark. California alone has about 125, which is over half the Part 1 opening. And there is a decent radio/television advertising campaign, which did not happen with the first. I have to travel to (Los) Anchorage being the local Cinema will not show it. It is very important to see it on the weekend.
If it makes the top 10 that will produce more interest and the top 5 will give it additional press.
P.S. Can anybody tell me why I can edit my comment but not my post?

Awesome ... can't wait!

SO EXCITED!

“Whenever destroyers appear among men, they start by destroying money, for money is men’s protection and the base of a moral existence. Destroyers seize gold and leave to its owners a counterfeit pile of paper. This kills all objective standards and delivers men into the arbitrary power of an arbitrary setter of values. Gold was an objective value, an equivalent of wealth produced. Paper is a mortgage on wealth that does not exist, backed by a gun aimed at those who are expected to produce it. Paper is a check drawn by legal looters upon an account which is not theirs: upon the virtue of the victims. Watch for the day when it bounces, marked, ‘Account overdrawn.’ --ATLAS SHRUGGED PART 2

This trailer looks great, I really look forward to

seeing Part 2. Loved Part one, my whole family did.

I LOVED Part one

I even cried. The closest theater was in San Francisco and I may just drive to SF to see part 2. I think they did a great job making the movie. I really loved it and can't wait to see part 2. It's th only movie I een want to see.

I cried too

...the final scene gets me every time.

Already showing in my town.

Already showing in my town (or rather scheduled to open there). I basically liked the first one. I went and saw it in the theater, and I'll probably go check this one out too.

This movie must be shrugged

by the Daily Paul bloggers much to my surprise.
