I also noticed that comment by Romney and bristled when I heard it! "You couldn't have people opening up banks in their garage and making loans" that is exactly what is happening right now and should be. No one seems to be reporting on it, but the underground economy is growing because of the vacuum created by the recession. With banks giving a whopping 1% interest on CDs and not willing to lend to small micro business, people are getting loans from friends and relatives. That statement from Romney shows how out of touch he is as he claims to support small business.
