Freedom Supporter Needs Your Help

As most of you know, National Delegate to the RNC, Jim Uprichard of Reno Nevada, was involved in a nearly fatal motorcycle accident on September 3, 2012. The accident has left him with memory loss, a broken humerus in 4 places, scapula, L5 to sacrum and many facial fractures. The hospital discovered that Jim did not have insurance and the only insurance he did have with Geico denied his coverage, which resulted in an early release, well before he should have been, on September 12, 2012. The accident happened in Port Orange, near Daytona Beach, Florida, just days after he voted for Dr. Paul.

Here is a little history regarding Jim.

Jim was born in Spokane, Washington and graduated from Joel E. Farris High School. After that he enlisted in the military. Jim served in the Navy during Vietnam and his ship was the USS Agerholm. (http://www.worldnavalships.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10468 and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Agerholm_(DD-826)

Jim learned of Dr. Ron Paul during the 1988 campaign while doing a brief search of the presidential candidates. He learned that Ron Paul was the “only one who would honor his promises and restore the country”. Jim joined his county central committee during the 2007/2008 presidential run. He became a delegate for Dr. Paul at the 2008 state convention where he witnessed the lights being turned out as the delegates for Ron Paul were winning.

Jim has been a person who would be “the first one there in a crisis”, says one of his caregivers. Jim has been at many rallies, sign-making events, calling parties, parades, and canvassing with Super Brochures. Jim has met Dr. Paul on 7 different occasions and he has a photo of him using the phone next to Dr. Paul, which hangs in his office. Jim has been a financial supporter to the campaign for Dr. Paul, campaign for liberty, the dailypaul, supebrochures.com, and liberty Pac, among many others.

The following is a video, which Jim took, of Nevada National Delegate, Wayne Terhune, handing the nomination forms from 6 states to Kim Reynolds, the Lieutenant Governor of Iowa. Jim can be heard on the video saying, “Ron Paul.” And “not authorized, not approved”, among other things. Please watch here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1xexMF3gsQ
Jim is being censured by the Nevada Republican Party and he is not well enough to combat their behavior and defend his position.

Here is a video of Jim filming the handing of the nomination papers to the same Governor; he is in the teal colored shirt holding the camera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXZ9kzIvokY

Jim has had an in home care nurse visit today and the services necessary for his recovery are quite expensive. Just the hospital bill alone is over $91,000. Please continue to pray for Jim and anything that you would like to donate would be greatly appreciate.
Here is the chip-in that will go directly to Jim Uprichard’s account to pay for rehabilitation and other necessary things. http://jimknowledgeequalsfreedom.chipin.com/mypages/view/id/...

Jim is going to need, it looks like 2 surgeries, but we are

unsure at this point. He has been told by several doctors, physical therapists, chiropractors of one surgery. We just found out the news of the second surgery on Thursday and are looking for another opinion before procedding. We are praying he gets in sooner than later. He really needs prayers for his left eye. Thank you for checking in.

Jim got his shoulder re-xrayed yesterday and well the bad news

is that he has a dislocated shoulder with about 14 screws in it. He will need to have it reduced and that may be done at 3:20 today. If anyone could be thinking of him at that time and saying some prayers it would be very welcomed.

We are not sure if this is how it was left at the hospital and sent on his way because the bone was broken in four places. We are not sure if they just worked on the bone and then did not worry about the dislocation, we should find out more today. His pain level is at about 7, which the doctor's say is amaazing.

Please continue to post here and bump this. He needs continued support.

unfortunately we found out that Jim's shoulder cannot be repaire

with a reduction, he will have to have surgery. It is in really bad shape. Please pray and contribute. Thank you.

Hey Dpers, just wanted to update you.

Jim stayed with some friends this weekend and he did pretty well, but he is still in a lot of pain, has double vision, and is feeling dizzy. He ate a good dinner with us, but he went to bend over to reach into a bag and he fell back about 4 feet and landed, fortunately on his rear, and did not do anymore damage. He was quite frightened by the event because he was falling to his left side and that is where he has all the broken areas on his body and he could not reach out to catch himself.

Holding a conversation is getting easier daily, but he still gets tired quickly from too much conversation. He had a long talk with his cousin today and went in to take a nap soon after. We have appointments set up with the nurse and physical therapist for the a.m.

I know that we are truly witnessing a miracle with his recovery. The nurse came the other day and she said that she has seen people with these type of brain injuries and in 6 months cannot follow directions the way that he is.

I hope you will all continue to pray and donate anything that you can to support his recovery. The visits are very expensive, we are still trying for the VA, but at this point it has not happened yet.

Thank you.

Keep up the hard work & progress Jim!

Update from the cousins in Washington:

Jim continues to improve each day. There are good days and better days. He spends a good deal of time sleeping. Many days are spent at appointments.
The shoulder pain that has been so intense and troublesome is becoming more manageable. Getting in and out of bed and dressing aggravates the pain. He is slowly learning what movements cause more pain and therefore has yet another way aside from drugs to control it.
His memory seem better each day but we have a long way and many, many months to go before all those synapses hopefully reconnect. He is aware he brain is not working but indicates he is optimistic, at least when I have talked with him, that his brain can get better. Currently, simple tasks like brushing his teeth,or trying to organize his Eniva vitamins often drain him and can be very frustrating. Trying to write, spell or do a math problem is incredibly challenging. He often fails even the simplest of mental exercises at the moment.
He is probably going to need physical therapy for his shoulder and arm and speech therapy, etc. Various avenues are being explored to ortain this help for him. It is still yet unknown as to when he may be able to be more independent.
At the moment all of his friends in Reno have kicked in to help care for him on a daily basis, get him to appointments, provide his food and help him with paperwork. All of these people are busy with their own lives but have been selfless in helping with his care.
Jim is able to use his cell phone and often picks it up. Short calls from familiar voices will go a long way towards his recovery. Thank you to everyone for your prayers

this should be something that we all support with bumps up,

comments and posts to facebook and other forums. I agree that this should have a lot more vote up and comments on. This guy gave a lot of energy for the freedom movement and the least we could do is spread this message around for him and donate a little to help for his rehabilitation. He fought the RNC and when he gets better he still has a huge fight with the Nevada jerks that want his head.

Bump for the night, sleep well Jim.

Thank you and thank you and thank you. Any support to any

meetups or other forums would be awesome. We are trying to get help through the VA, but with all the new rules that has, so far been a dead end.

I think you mean

"humerus." But I'm telling you, if I were in an accident like that I'm sure it would break my "humorous" badly as well!

I am unemployed, but I'll be contributing, Jim. We must all hang together, or we'll certainly all hang separately.

Jim just said that is not funny! That has been a standing joke.

He still has most of his sense of humor.... Yes, I think spell check changed my spelling when I did this. Appreciate the bump and the support!! Thanks for the spelling lesson, I need a little more than that though :-) ha ha!!

This has been a full-time job. I am grateful to watch the healing, but I am tired. BUT, not as tired as Jim. He is in a lot of pain, but lessens everyday.

Agreed, we must hang together.

Thank you 4con for the updates. I know he is in good care with

Hey Jim, get well. It sounds like you have a long road ahead, but it is good that you are here. Your bills are insane, hope to donate soon.

Jim, I know you are getting better every day. Hang in there!

It is going to be a little while before you are fully recovered, but the good news is you will recover. You have a great care-giver taking care of you, she is awesome, just be patient and get well. We are praying for you.
