Look How Far We've Come

For the past several weeks, I've been following all of the arguments on here about who we should vote for in the election. After a while, I began to feel absolutely dizzy with all of the arguments being thrown back and forth. Then I thought, "Wow it's all gone down the drain in these past few weeks!" (Actually, my thoughts were not that nice, but I will keep it clean.)

However, I realized something today. NOTHING has been lost! Here we are after all that has happened, and we are still fighting. We are debating. We are still determined to set this country right. We could have crawled off into the shadows and sulked because we didn't get our way, but we didn't. We may be arguing, but at least we can't be accused of being apathetic. We certainly aren't blindly following anyone's lead. If we don't always get along, that's fine. Just remember that simply going along to get along is part of what got our nation in the mess to begin with.

We owe a lot to Dr. Paul for waking us up. At first, we looked to him to point us in the right direction, and he did. Thankfully, most of us did not stop there. We began to study so that we could develop our own informed opinions about the issues. We began to find our own way. Yes, Ron Paul started this movement, but it is ours now. In the end, I guess it always was.

Awesome post, I totally

Awesome post, I totally agree. Even Ron said we all wouldnt agree because we're all individuals, as long as we keep trying to change this country we eventually will!

Watching THIS "Presidential" Oct 4th speech by Ron Paul

on the very day after the superficial cosmetic O&R debate re-energized my resolve to continue on with my little share of the liberty fight :-)

That video is From Sept. 14 (not Oct 4). At LPAC in Virginia.

Thanks for the correction.

This particular youtube was "published on Oct 4" and confused me. . . ;-p

What "fight"? Lot of backing

What "fight"?

Lot of backing down but fight? This is what you call a fight?

The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good things is my religion. Thomas Paine, Godfather of the American Revolution

I disagree

Eight years ago, most of us would have barely noticed the lies that are being told, and those who did notice it would have been more inclined just to sit back and shake their heads. It's not going to be quick or easy to change things. At least now we're trying to do something about it. We call them out on those lies when we hear them. We speak to our friends and families. Most of us have been known to corner any stranger willing to listen. Beyond that, those of us who have children are raising them with the message of liberty, something my generation didn't really get a good dose of. We are fighting the lies and the corruption. We're doing it peacefully, but yeah, I call this a fight.

I agree, I am happy to see us all continuing the fight

There are differences of opinion and method but I believe we are still friends in liberty. Differences are not necessarily bad. Sometimes they are strengths. Many different approaches may be needed to move our cause forward. We are decentralized but one in purpose. Our efforts and activism though varied will weave together over time and will combine and reinforce one another until they become an impenetrable mesh, an unstoppable force that will only grow stronger as it spreads. By all means make persuasive arguments for others to join your cause or candidate but remember we are all friends in liberty and respect that our paths might not always be the same, though our destination is. Good luck to all my friends in liberty both here and wherever you may be!

This is awesome. Forgive me.

I am going to start a new thread, I am Ron Paul, rather than put the same thoughts here in a comment. Reverence will be paid to your post.

Great!

I think anything that helps remind us that we are still in this together is a good thing.
