School board to use cameras to monitor cafeteria trash cans for 'vegetable wasting'

Oct 4, 2012

Horses

When out on the prairie, you can always tell the good water from the bad because horse tracks (or other animals) will be near the good water. Animals instinctively know the difference even before scientific testing can tell.

I think kids are more in touch with their instincts and less brainwashed to blindly trust authorities.

So, to counter this, the school board is going to start a witch-hunt for those kids disobeying the nutrition law so they can have their instinct detuned a little bit.

Why is half of America obese

Why is half of America obese then?

Corn syrup and other

Corn syrup and other artificial stuff they're putting in our food supply now.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

I agree. The above theory

I agree. The above theory about "instincts" don't really hold up to this fact though.

I tend to agree.

Although as adults we tend to write it off as "kids these days think they know all the answers," kids who have been raised correctly don't have to be adults to be able to spot hypocrisy, unfairness, and lack of common sense from a mile away.

It's funny how adults continue to accept this crap...

and then complain about kids acting up in school, not wanting to be there, the poor quality of curriculums, etc. Federal taxpayer money should be out of education entirely, but if we can't have that, public schools should at least stop wasting it on pointless non-solutions for non-problems like this and instead invest it in paying our teachers more, creating an environment where education is captivating instead of a collectivist chore, and finding ways to better reach kids with learning disabilities, behavioral problems, and other issues.

I mean seriously... all this talk about wasted vegetables in schools, and nobody realizes that the biggest wasted vegetables are the students! Their unique talents are being wasted on a strict one-size-fits-none system, and they're numbed to all the bullying, politics, and societal pressure to eventually accrue student loan debt that comes with it.

I don't play, I commission the league.

When they say "vegetable"

do they mean Pizza?

*sigh*

...really?

Anyway, the kids will just wrap them up in a napkin before they throw out the food, that's what I always did anyway.

You get three

In life you get three educations, One at home, One in school, and One from the streets.
American kids have been throwing away tons of food for decades.
This wasteful mentality begins in the home, the school lunch program is the victim, just like teachers are the victims of disrespectful students.

What about putting cameras

What about putting cameras on school board member to see who's getting "kick backs" from all this corporate selling of products shoved down the kids throats from Kindergarden through High School?
Now, that's a video I'd be much more interested in seeing.

crappy canned vegetables

low bid providers. soggy, salty, and tasteless or worse. Not surprising the kids won't eat them

Bingo

I used to hate eating school food because it sucked. They spend the money they're given on elaborate buildings and everything top of the line. The bids are given to crony friends for kickbacks. yada yada yada.

The corruption never ends.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

Anyone thought of...

Tasting the vegetables? Maybe they just taste bad. Maybe the students are afraid of GMOs...

Just when I think our country cannot become more fascist........

......something like this pops up.

How much more ridiculous can things get?
