Another thing:

I ONLY listen to hip-hop. Hip-hop at its best - whether it's the early '90s west coast gangsta rap, the mid-'90s Afrocentric/conscious stuff, the mid-to-late '90s NYC scene, or today's underground hip-hop - is the deepest, realest , most enlightened genre of music there is. Real hip-hop is philosophical, critical, and libertarian. Mos Def's "Mathematics" is the most eloquent critique of the police state I've ever heard, because he breaks it down into simple, easy points and rattles off numbers and statistics with ease. I've found that people who criticize hip-hop are largely thinking of the mindless "sip my purp and slap my hoe while I lean like Bernie" club shit that dominates the radio.

I don't play, I commission the league.

I had a thread about Lupe,

I had a thread about Lupe, didn't get any action: http://www.dailypaul.com/167233/rapper-calls-obama-terrorist

Rappers ARE role models in my book.

People complain about the swears and the imagery and the misogyny, but keep in mind that so many of these rappers come out of bad environments filled with crime, poverty, and the racist war on drugs and achieve fame and personal wealth. Many of them then give back to the communities they came from. Additionally, guys like Lupe, Mos Def, and even Tupac when he was alive have known the crap that's been going on, and a lot of their more political verses reflect some pro-liberty views.

Pretty good video

I'll be honest, I surfed it. I watched about 7 minutes of it then got distracted by this one.
