Nevada Poll Has Ron Paul at 6% in 6th Place Far Behind Everyone

0 votes

According to this Reno Post-Gazette poll, Ron Paul is only getting 6% polling in Nevada with Rudy Giuliani almost about to beat John McCain for the top spot.

http://www.coldheartedtruth.com/index.php/2008/2008/01/14/ne...

According to this, Huckabee, Romney and Thompson are apparently competing for 3rd in Nevada with Ron Paul a guaranteed 6th place.

If this is the case, let's please see the campaign start opening verbal fire on McCain in regard to specific laws that McCain has passed and pushed in the past 10 years that would chill the blood of his supporters if they knew about them.

I have not heard RP mention Internet Regulation in 6 weeks, but I have heard him talk about the war 200 times. The way to get a pro-war Republican to turn against the war is to tell him that McCain and Clinton just passed another domestic law taking a right away that directly affects them.

In other words, you win pro-war people indirectly, not by banging them over the head and saying "You are wrong and have been wrong for the past 6 years so vote for me".

Polls

Remember Obama was going to beat Hilly by a landslide in NH?

And don't forget Frank Luntz's lesson on polls.

My daughter was in Vegas a couple of weeks ago and she said that place is RP crazy! Signs are everywhere and out around the other towns, folks handing out RP info on the strip too (tourists going home with RP info). They talked to many bartenders and wait staff and he is popular because the Tax Free Tips slim jims went like crazy out there. We may be in for good news in Vegas.

interesting at CNN

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/states/nevada.html

"On the Republican side, the state's delegates are up for grabs. It's unclear if the GOP presidential candidates will focus much on the state."

and their latest poll for Nevada is from December 3-5, 2007.

while even Florida's most recent poll was January 9-13, 2008.

If they are not paying attention this could be good for us!

No more time

We dont HAVE any more time folks!!
This is RP's only shot, or he's doomed to disappear into the political abyss. He's what, 72 now?
that makes him 76 4 yrs from now....too old.
Besides, in 4 yrs it will be the we'll be the NAU and th amero will be the currency.

Paul 72

McCain is 71, so what? RP is a very healthy guy. McCain looks pretty roughed up to me. I'd say that age is not a factor in this race.

Sorry to disagree here.

There will be statues of this man, in the future.

Insanity...

...is doing the same thing and expecting a different result (no, Obama didn't invent the phrase). We can't expect Nevada to see the light if the campaign uses the same strategy it did in New Hampshire. If the polls show no traction, we have to change strategy.

Nevada may be a little different - turnout is likely to be very low and that could help us if the Paul vote turns out. (yes, that's still a big IF since a lot of the support is young people and alienated people and they have atrocious voting records)

It doesn't help that we have many here

who would rather attack our own Campaign then continue any grassroots efforts to get more people into the Ron Paul camp.

I respectfully disagree

I respectfuly disagree. 5th place -- time and time again, means 5th place. When a baseball loses and loses and loses -- you change the leadership ---- when a private or public held company shows a loss month after month -- you bring in people who know how to succeed.

The problem is -- from what former staff have told me -- Ron hired his friends that he has known for years -- and guess what -- has any of them ever won a presidential primary ????

If saving the Constitution was not an issue; I would not care; but each day our civil rights are being lost. This is not no game. We need to win. We need campaign leaders who have won before; they are out there. Some have been rejected by the NHQ.

Save your signs for a 4th party run; but he needs real deal campaign staff.

I wouldn't place too much stock in that number...

RP was at 2% just a few days ago.

I was in Lake Tahoe, Incline Village, NV this weekend and read their local newspaper the "Bonanza" and they had a candidates page which listed the top 4 democrats and the top 3 republicans and their stances on the "environment". McCain, Rudy, and Paul were the top 3 Republicans according to the local paper. They had one misprint on the page though and it happened to be under "Money Raised" for, of course, Ron Paul. $8 million instead of $28 million.

I was up there and saw about 6 Obama yard signs and 5 Ron Paul signs, none of any of the other candidates. 5 Ron Paul signs in an area where the average home price is well above half a million should bode well I think. Not many college students can afford that type living. ;)

Go NV

I hope Ron wins in NV. MI was sacrificed so that Ron could spend more time in NV.

His NHQ team wrote off MI; you will see tomorrow night. A few months ago -- MI just like Iowa and NH -- we had a solid shot at third -- which would have really propelled him into NV for a strong finish.

But NHQ leaders said no to the proposed town to town bus tour. This would have made third place a real opportunity -- and he would have needed to target the crossover vote (Dems primary is mute). But no again.

Ron Paul needs bring in new leadership; now.

Cmon Forget the polls

Whose poll

This poll also has Edwards tied with the other two Dems

Here is the original Reno Gazette-Journal post of the results.
http://www.rgj.com/blogs/inside-nevada-politics/2008/01/new-...

I'd also like to point out that this blogger, is the one that started the whole "brothel owners, and hookers support Paul" craze.
AP then picked up her blog entry and ran with it.

I'd like to find out the dynamics of the poll.

Do NOT Trust this Newspaper. Or their bloggers.
This is a Gannett paper.

Notice the number of responses to her entry (almost all Edwards supporters)..Those blogs rarely, if ever have any comments..

Let her have it!

Something changed or was changed...

Does anyone else feel this way? Its almost like the polls online have all been hacked when the new hampshire results didnt match the recent polls. Another example is the AOL 12/24-1/04 poll switched to its latest and in my opinion totally hacked abomination of the truth. Ron Paul clearly won the 12/24-1/04 poll and then suddenly last time i checked it was Jon (oh my god please no) Mccain. The number of votes was about what Ron Paul had on the earlier poll. Its not like they were neck and neck in the previous poll and the platforms of the 2 are literally good -vs- evil. So did everyone some how change there mind or is it infact that the internet has become a little (or lottle) less free.

RP message perfect for Nevada!

WTF!?!?!? Where are the RP supporters in Nevada? Ron's message is perfect for that state ... no income tax on tips, legalization of drugs, prostitution, gambling, FREEDOM! I guess I shouldn't put a blanket on NV just because of Las Vegas ... but I guess the message is not getting out in our western states.

I thought WY would have higher RP stats as well ...

RON had better win nevada..

RON had better win nevada.. if michigan ,south carolina and nevada are 4th or lower i'm afraid this thing is over and the stupid people of this country will get the tyranical government they deserve!

“A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.” (Prov. 22:3; 27:12 KJV)

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐

Dissapointing yes, over NO!

No matter what happens this election season, the people are waking up. Even if it takes a few years, more and more people will question things like:
Cost of maintaining empire
Federal Reserve-inflation-WTF?
Surveillance state
Loss of liberty
Freedom from tyrannical government.

Things may get worse before they get better, but the PTB can't stop the movement once it's started, and it has.

...let it not be said that we did nothing.
-Ron Paul

I think RP will beat

I think RP will beat Thompson, possibly the Ghoul.
My prediction:
1] Romney
2] MCCain
3] Huckabee
4] Paul I hope
5] Ghouliani

Internet Gambling and Plus or Minus for Nevada?

I would think the no tax on tips would be popular in Nevada, not sure of the effect on supporting for Internet Gambling.

glmeadors

Gambling, Lap-Dancing, Porn all a plus for RP except...

except Ron Paul refuses to talk about how the Reps and Dems are now converging together to stop all that. A whopping 80% of males would vote to not regulate Internet porn and the like...but Ron Paul seems embarrassed about talking about protecting our first amendment rights on all that.

The Dems once protected that ground, but the rise of Hillary and her type are putting a stop to that tradition.

Chinagate

google it.

Not surprised

Nevada is another libertarian-friendly state. New Hampshire is libertarian-friendly and Paul only came in 5th there. The official campaign's marketing of Paul is atrocious.

I think that Nevada is more

I think that Nevada is more libertarian than New Hampshire. You do not see much for legalized gambling, prostitution in NH. I drove through NH last summer near Portsmouth and I saw a state run liquor store. How libertarian can that be? Plus I think that NH has been overun by former Massachusetts and NY residents, who are a bit more liberal than the natives, that changed the character of the state in the past 10-15 yrs.

I live here - No way

I was at the march, and we had tons of people who loved the good ol' doc. Most RP supporters appear to understand they are supposed to vite for him, too. Great reactions at my church in my neighborhood. i am a precinct capt. and we will send at least 3 delegates in my precinct alone. So la dee dah to you.

Lot's of quotes come to mind...

As long as we are going back 20 years for Ron Paul -

The ethics committee's investigation focused on five senators: Alan Cranston (D-CA); Dennis DeConcini (D-AZ); John Glenn (D-OH); John McCain (R-AZ); and Donald W. Riegle, Jr. (D-MI), who became known as the Keating Five.
After months of testimony revealed that all five senators acted improperly to differing degrees

I think most of them belongs to the Union

so I think they like Democratic candidate or whoever their union leader ask them to vote.

If Ron Paul doesn't do better than Giuliani in any of these

upcoming primaries, before Super Tuesday. He may want to give some serious thought to making some major changes before it's too late.
