Americans are NOT stupid

“It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till." -J.R.R. Tolkien

Give them bread and circuses

Give them bread and circuses.

That's how it works.

Rig the system so much that you can virtually plan anything and everything for them. Keep them too busy or so lazy and envious that they ll only want more of distractions waste to escape meaningless lives. Doing so, destroy, despise, mock, and deny their individual freedoms one after another to continue pseudo justify the redistributions and plans you started with. Play with guilt and fear of themselves as individuals and force onto them always more State and the idea they have to praise it for their own good, as collectives. Insinuate in their minds group think and labels, though, to keep dividing and conquer: the justification of entitlements and false rights you invent for more needs of the State and regulators.

Loop and repeat. Tune and strengthen the enslavement progressively.

Welcome to Global socialism, which, yes, dumbs down people down to be commodities for the fascist state.

Welcome to Atlas Shrugged.

"Cyril" pronounced "see real". I code stuff.

More like people are

More like people are ignorant, isn't it? Our public education system helps with that. How many kids attending public schools are motivated to actually learn, especially given the horrid curriculum? Our schools are set up to spit out nice little ignorant citizens, propagandized to respect and trust government and authority. Thus programmed, there is little need for such folks to independently think.

I was driving next to a woman

who was completely lost in a cell phone conversation, she had a Romney / Ryan sticker on her windshield it said " We Got This" I rolled down my window and asked her if she was aware that Mitt Romney
was a pathological liar..And told her to look it up online...A million links...Yes people in the US are freaking stupid...Can't even find the US on a damn map...People in Europe laugh at us unless we're bombing the crap out of them, then they hate us..seems copesetic..I'm ready to move to Iceland.

Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow

Because they simply have been told repeatedly, consciously and sub-consciously that they need not be responsible for themselves or others. Someone or something will always take care of a problem for you. (the government) You would be so depressed to hear some of the things people come to me for. If only I had known what it was going to be like.

I have noticed that people do

I have noticed that people do not think for themselves. They are not dumb, but lazy and get by without thinking as much as possible. I see a lot of women act this way around men. I think people act dumb around others so that they can make friends. Let the pundits do politics. Let the government do policy. People feel inferior and do not think their thoughts are important.

It is frustrating...

"It's much easier to fool people than it is to convince them they've been fooled." -Mark Twain

The quote above often comes to mind - people get these thoughts in their head and convince themselves that they are true and then won't listen to anything (even facts) to the contrary. It is quite difficult, but I do believe that, given enough listening time, they can be convinced. This is something I deal with every day, but we can't give up, we need people to realize the truth about the media's lies and about the corruption in so many of our politicians today.

Why are people so dumb?

They aren't dumb. They were born into this world with the same eyes and functioning mind as you.

What they are is covetous. They unjustly want. Ever seen the picture of three monkeys covering their eyes, ears, and mouth? Jesus died because of them. Perfect men are a threat to everything they'd hide from.

One of the things covetous people unjustly want is to think that they're smarter than everybody else, that they're surrounded by retards and sheep, something less than them. They want to feel like they're enlightened.

A user would take advantage of that, and control them through flattery, and prestige. they'd offer those people a cut of something else they unjustly want; a share of all the dumb peoples labor and property; slaves.

When you see nothing but dumb people around you, soulless animals, why not just take them as your servants? Put them in your field. Strap them to a plow.

There's nothing easier to control than a covetous person who thinks everyone around them is dumb. You WON'T be able to save them all, but once you've decided they're dumb, you won't be able to help a single one of them. All you can do is domesticate a dumb animal.

They lost the knowledge their great, great grand parents had

Check this out: Historically one of the greatest poems ever written, how many ever read it, and how many if they did, would even understand it?

People are not dumb. They

People are not dumb. They are just like me and you and I still keep an open mind because once you start to see everyone else as dumb you will stop discovering, growing, and maturing yourself. If you treat a child like a baby he will act like a baby and if you treat an adult like a child he will act like a child.

I will never give up on my friends and family, and myself because the only knowledge that is true was revealed to me. I did not think myself into supporting liberty. I fought every day since I was little not to follow the crowd over the cliff. I want to seek and follow what is true. This is a journey where the world becomes a revelation. You and I cannot do this for other people, but they are capable of doing it themselves. Be an example and educate with truth and those hungry for answers will find them.

Whether you want to call it igorance or stupidity...

...the minds of modern Americans definitely do not compare favorably with their ancestors'.

The average person in the 19th century knew and enjoyed discussing politics and even economics. Go into any Irish bar or German biergarten in 1876 and I'll bet you a gold eagle you could find someone talking about the damn Republicans and their scheme for inflationary fiat currency (with this fine Irish or German chap being invariably a [Jeffersonian] Democrat). Good luck with that today. Now, to have a good political conversation, you have to go online to a place like the DP where such people are concentrated from all over the country, because in real life they;re few and far between.

It's a question of interest vs. apathy, and the cause of the apathy IMO is the total lack of real choices in politics (echo not a choice).

And also education, people have never been educated more than they are today, but on average it seems to me people are less knowledgeable and certainly have less capacity for critical thought - so what does that tell you about he function of "education" in modern America?

...and on top of all this, (real) conversation itself seems to be on the decline, thanks to "social media." Though the decline started, I think, with television. When the blinking lights took over the evening living room, family and neighborhood interaction went out the window.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

you said it...

people stopped reading. And, the media that used to keep the gvt. somewhat honest is now part of the cabal. We are definately a nation of idiots.

I feel you

on this. I totally understand the frustration when people put so much emphases and spend so much money on sports. If people would put half as much energy into political action or expanding their minds intellectually, we wouldn't be in such trouble. Don't get me wrong, if you like sports I am cool with that, but people seriously would be better off putting some of that focus into something else. I think people have always been like this though. Sports and side entertainment have been around for centuries. Throughout history there are always those who found importance in paying attention, and those that didn't. I love reading, learning, practicing my musical instrument etc. which is probably part of the reason I was drawn to Dr. Paul, who in my opinion, is a true intellectual.

As Paul supporters, we shouldn't be too quick to dismiss sports.

After all, Tim Tebow, Arian Foster, Chris Carr, Tim Thomas, and Peyton Hillis are known Ron Paul supporters too.

BTW, THIS sports fanatic is proudly writing in Ron.

I don't play, I commission the league.

I'm not writing off sports

I agree that sports does have a place in our society, and I understand why people like it. I just wish we could put the same time, energy, and money into some of the other problems we face, both in society and in our own lives. Even though we have such a horrible economy, people are still willing to spend hundreds of dollars on sports tickets, or spend their entire Sundays watching the games. I'm not saying you or all sports fans are like this, just that it kind of says something when some people can't pay their bills, but sports is still high priority to them.

Something to think about....

Marx called for getting the American people minds on SPORTS, sex, drugs, etc. And away from the things they should be doing or know.

Just consider....

No wonder I can't get a date.

No wonder I can't get a date. I'm not dumb enough lol.

I wonder this too.

I keep telling myself that I am being a narcissist, and QUIT. But I really do believe the movie Idiocracy is not science-fiction at all. It is a bit scary that way.

Poster below me beat me to it...

Idiocracy....it's so true. Another good one on societal satire is "God Bless America" i believe it's on Netflix (viewer discretion advised) I used to work for a real estate title company doing office work/inspecting properties etc. The talk of the day there was usually about sports, TV shows, American Idol or some other stupid crap they saw on TV. Tried sparking people's interest in economics and Ron Paul but to no avail.

"I am Troll fighter, number one"

I wanted to like that movie

but it was a bit too uneven. The first hour was great, though; preaching to the choir with people like us but hopefully opened the eyes of others.

With liberty and justice for all...who can afford it.

Most people don't have a

Most people don't have a clue.

So sad. Especially when people take oaths but have no idea what they are taking oaths to. I've heard more than a few soldiers say that it's the President who decides when we go to war. Of course, everyone here knows that's incorrect.

The crowd that gets their news spoon fed to them from the MSM are just as bad. They actually believe they're fully informed when in actuality they are only partly informed and often wrong about things.

Maybe it's all the fluoride in the water.

is a documentary.
