Powerful New Video on New York City's Stop-and-Frisk Policy

We're really sliding over the precipice when this blatantly unconstitutional and invasive practice is tolerated in the largest city in the nation. Worse, its tolerance there would seem to make its spread inevitable.

NYPD Officers Stop-and-Frisk Teen ‘For Being a F****ing Mutt’

New York Magazine: A new documentary on the NYPD's controversial stop-and-frisk tactics includes jarring audio from one such search that neatly encapsulates everything critics say is wrong with the program. "I just got stopped like two blocks ago," says Harlem teenager Alvin, who covertly recorded the encounter on his phone. "You know why? You look very suspicious," an officer responds before adding, "Shut your f***in' mouth before I slap you." Asked why he's being held, a cop tells Alvin, "For being a f***in' mutt." And the threats keep coming: "Dude, I'm gonna break your f***ing arm," says the officer, "then I'm gonna punch you in the f***in' face."

Full article and video (a must-see regardless of whether you read the story):

Honest Cops

Wouldn't let tptb make them do these things. The cops that do this are just hired goons and love doing it.

No Civil Suits against Bloomy and Kelly?

So mayor Bloomberg and commissioner Kelly (top-down corruption) openly admit they support the violation of the 4th Amendment before media cameras and no civil suits have been brought to either one of these two in a court of law? Curious. Thought the ugly days of Serpico, the movie, were behind the city.

What I don't Get

is WHY don't the people of NY fire those jerks? Bloomberg is nothing but trouble! Kick his sorry ass out and Kelly too!

these people (the citizens) of NYC

need to group together, and riot and raise hell. When a society devolves into such a grotesque situation, it is time to burn it down.

Search & Seizure.....

My brother, just back from a tourist visit to NYC had a 1" Swiss army knife confiscated at the 'STATUE OF LIBERTY' of all places. I had given it to him for a birthday present. Makes me an accomplice I suppose. Anyway, how the hell he was going to hijack the statue of liberty and threaten Manhattan; I don't know.

Haven't you Heard?

Even a BOXCUTTER can take out entire buildings in NYC. HAH! NOT!

Pisses me off

Someday people are going to start killing these cops for their thuggery.

More police thuggery in a so-called "post-racial world".

Stiffer stipulations attached to each sentence
Budget cutbacks but increased police presence
And even if you get out of prison still livin
join the other five million under state supervision
This is business, no faces just lines and statistics
from your phone, your zip code, to S-S-I digits
The system break man child and women into figures
Two columns for who is, and who ain't n****s
Numbers is hardly real and they never have feelings
but you push too hard, even numbers got limits
Why did one straw break the camel's back? Here's the secret:
the million other straws underneath it - it's all mathematics

All hail, King Bloomberg!

"Just yesterday, Mayor Bloomberg shot down that idea yet again [to have an independent inspector general]. "I think if you want to bring crime back, let's go politicize control of the Police Department," he said. "The last thing we need is some politician or judge getting involved with setting policy, because you won't be safe anymore.""

Oh, yeah, Mayor Bloomberg! The LAST thing we need is some politician (ELECTED REPRESENTATIVE) getting involved with setting policy (LEGISLATION/LAWS) - nor some judge (TO DETERMINE IF CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS ARE BEING VIOLATED). So that's what Bloomberg calls "politicizing" control of the Police Department, having that agency operate within the parameters of OUR AMERICAN POLITICAL SYSTEM, with its checks and balances. He seems to view NYC as if a little country of its own, an absolute monarchy, himself king.

When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.

Liberty: Unmourned Casualty of the War on Terror

NY's stop-and-frisk is only one part of a far broader frontal assault on liberty in the name of security:

two great mayors, Bloomberg and Emmanuel take thier marching orders from you know who.

we are the palestinians.

Sad Truth

The sad truth is... that the people who are in influence and could make the most noise ARE NOT the ones getting harassed and they could care less because this practice brings them a sense of safety regardless of how false that concept is.

They don’t mind violating someone else’s rights as long as they feel safe…

The hilarity;

Is the public says this is for their freedom. 2000 years of histroy repeats itself; and those smart enough to see it are berated, or like Socrates; executed for simply inquiring for logic; oh and not by a king, by popular vote

When u pull the same scam over and over again it

gives the appearance of history repeating itself. When in reality its the same Rothschild bank criminals pulling their 3rd cycle counterfit false debt ponzi scheem that always ends with a fake world war. All sides financed and armed by the same crime bank gangster family.

Then we are told History repeats itself and we cant do a thing about it due to its natural cycle. BS

Multi generational crime is more like it.

Fighting a "War on Terror"

Solution= Terrorize the people..Sounds like a typical backwards Government solution..As usual most will remain silent because hey, "They're just doing their Job"

"I have found that being rich is not about having the most but about needing the least"

Sounds like the union is doing a WONDERFUL job

of protecting their members.

The whole effin system is completely broken down.

And eff you to the cop sitting their knowingly and willingly ruining another persons life in the name of a paycheck. That is the most despicable, low life excuse ever(and if my history is correct - also the same sorry excuse many of those brown shirts gave as well).

Its because they all go

"Remember 9-11, you don't want that happening again right?"

Living their lives in fear, just like the "terrorists" hoped for.

"Once you become knowledgeable, you have an obligation to do something about it."- Ron Paul

I'm Shocked

that the people of NYC are dumb enough to tolerate this. Why would anyone allow it?

It's nothing new...

Or limited to NYC.

As a teenager (in California at the time), I routinely got stopped for no apparent reason. I had long hair and a green army jacket that had patches ranging from "-A-" symbol to "Fuck War" (things don't change much, lol) and looked kinda ghetto.

I was stopped once 2 blocks from my house and frisked in the street. When I asked why, the response was that the Little Ceasar's had been robbed and I fit the description. I checked the next day and it was a lie.

Cops are thugs. The largest gang affiliation in the US.

The Philosophy Of Liberty -

Constitution? What constitution?

Just another gang of cowards who think that hiding behind a uniform and a badge hidding behind, just doing my job, its the supervisors that make me do it. Not acceptable. Cowards who join gangs to become bullies nothing new to that story.

Programing the public to listen to these thugs.

Really, also the 'young cops' also hate veterans and the military. My father was doing traffic for the Wounded Warrior project. He had to deal with some rude people directing traffic, but one of them called the police. They had the permit and everything to do it, but the cop berated my father about it.

Cops HATE veterans

espescially combat/infantry guys because combat veterans don't have shit to prove to anybody where these cops always have to wonder if they have what it takes - sure - picking on your average citizen is good hoopla for the bar - but when the whiskey wears off and all they have is the truth - MANY realize if the other side was playing by the same rules like they do in war - they wouldn't be quite so tough anymore. Kinda like playing tackle vs flag football.

They also realize that in a police state the veteran is usually the most independent and the most skilled - dangerous combination when you are trying to oppress.

Of course it also bothers them when they get to the range and get their asses handed to them and they realize if push came to shove that badge wont stop a bullet and they are woefully outmatched with the gun - doesn't give them a warm fuzzy feeling - lol.

Great video! I saw this

Great video!

I saw this "accountability to a number" mentality run amuck during my final years working in public education. When a public employee is forced to "meet a number, or else", guess what usually happens?

Sadly, this form of accountability is usually championed by GOPers - especially the law and order types who are often attractive candidates to a fearful or frustrated citizenry.

This video does a great job of pointing out the consequences of such policies, which once they become aware of most voters won't support. It's another form of Bastiat's "what is seen and what is unseen" problem. Most people just don't think through possible consequences of policies before they suggest or vote for them.

Bombard Bloombergs Office With Phone Calls And Demand That

He resign at once. The people that get hunted like this man, Alvin, should file criminal charges against the NYPD, the commissioner and mayor Bloomberg..

Mass mailings of this video to Mayor Bloomberg's office may deter some of this criminal behavior..

Personally, it might be a better idea just to leave the city and never go back...

One day one of these traumatized victims is going to snap... and murder one of these cops included Mayor Bloomberg...

Then what?

I gave this a BUMP...

Well - hopefully it sparks a full on riot

and mass destruction, chaos and death follow because for some reason it seems to take such acts before anybody pays attention. 687000 stops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is one hell of a class action law suit - if each just gave 1 dollar to an attorney they could present one hell of a case.
