Boeing Announces ‘New Mobile Laser Death Ray Now Available’

By Shepard Ambellas
October 9, 2012

Just like in a science fiction flick, Boeing has now announced that it has a new weapon for the battlefield proving grounds that travels at a speed of 186,000 mph while disintegrating it’s targets on site with extreme precision.

This 500 horsepower, 10kw mobile solid-state laser is the new talk of the town.

This thing can shoot anything from missiles to airplanes and more, it’s no joke.

Field test will soon begin for the High Energy Laser Mobile Demonstrator (HEL MD).

Great!Now they are going to

Great! Now they are going to bring the troops home and stop policing the world, right?
Now we can just be a defensive nation and just shoot down any missle attacks, right?
Yeah right in my dreams. They will just use it to terrorize the world some more.

Well, I guess they do have a D.E.W. after all

Makes one wonder what else they have? I wonder if they have been dabbling in electromagnetic field effect weapons? Naw, never mind. LOL

Holy crap. A 10kw solid state

Holy crap. A 10kw solid state laser is no joke. I have to wonder how they were able to get it to work without over heating.

Next thing I wanna know is where can I buy one?

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

Quote From The Article

‘Our team is eager to demonstrate that this revolutionary system is capable of saving lives and ready for the battlefield.’

Being a laser, it will probably see more use for shooting down missiles than anything else, though I do see the irony in the statement. That said, it is a legitimate technology that has very practical defensive uses as a missile shield and anti-aircraft system. Unlike a missile or cannon, this strikes me as a primarily defensive weapon, since I don't see a whole lot of use for it outside of "shooting things down."
