*IMPORTANT* Ron Paul Revolution Political Experts: A Serious Question.

Hello, Everyone.

I wrote an article:

RON PAUL R[3]VOLUTION: The Write- In Campaign.

It took me days to compile vital information courtesy of many contributors.

You have to re-write your orginal message. Because Ron Paul is not eligible in most states to win Electors. In Pennsylvania, Ron Paul can not win any electors. Write-ins for President are not automatically given electors, they have to be connected to that person. Write-ins that are not registered to the state have no electors. The deadline already passed. Ron Paul has no Electors in Pennsylvania, so there is no point in writing his name in. Same with most states.

You have some serious cases of "denial" around here.

You remind me of some schlub still pining away for his high school sweetheart at her golden wedding anniversary (Hint: Hers, not yours), My first choice in 1988 (Pete DuPont [had not heard of Ron Paul]) did not even run in the GOP primaries in 1992 and Buchanan came across as too big a jerk to me. I listened with some trepidation; but, after he withdrew then re-entered, I could not take him seriously. I simply could not stomach Bill Clinton and George Bush? Hell, I wanted a lot worse things for that monster than the presidency. So I used every spare waking moment attacking Bush, hoping to drive him to the lowest re-elect numbers of any modern president, certainly below Senator Barry Goldwater's humiliating 38.5%; and this was during a time when the lying media (redundant) was calling Bush "a very popular president" and blaming Bush's misfortunes on Dan Quayle. Well, Bush got 37.5%; you can draw your own conclusions as to how much effect I had. My goal this year is to push Romney into a third place finish and I cannot do that with a candidate who will not "stand up and be counted" by either declaring his candidacy or actively discouraging a draft. Ron Paul says he thinks Gary Johnson is "wonderful." Should that not be enough? I watched in frustration as the Ron Paul campaign threw away virtually every chance for Ron Paul to be on the ballot in every 50 states and now I am watching in frustration as the Ron Paul grassroots is throwing away the only chance to make a difference in this election. While I would not suggest you "go to the dark side" as two well known Goldwater supporters did (Chris Matthews and Hillary Clinton). I would suggest you make a mature choice to influence the results of this election in the most effective manner. In 1992, my choice was Libertarian Party candidate Andre Marrou; and, while Marrou won only a tiny fraction of the vote, the Libertarian Party continues to reign as America's largest third party while Perot's Reform Party is pretty much a memory. Gary Johnson is not the perfect candidate, but neither was Ron Paul. Merlin Miller is the only "truther" candidate; but, he is not only an "unknown quality," he will not be on the ballot in Georgia. If it were not for the NDAA, the Patriot Act and the TSA, I would not care how you vote. However, if you insist on pursuing a futile effort with a virtual noncandidate, the suicide you commit may well be more than political.

"Should that not be enough?"

This question you posed is not clear to me. What exactly do you mean to say? TYIA.

The write-in people are the

The write-in people are the same "Baghdad Bob's" frothing at the mouth about the miracle delegate win at the convention lol.

Ventura 2012

Peace, Liberty and Prosperity, remember.

Well your not the only one to shed blood, sweat and tears, I'm sure the majority have, and no less credit to those that have just woken up, and are taking on the cause to further the movement.
I'ts not a case of years invested, and that also applies to any 3rd party effort as well, it's all about what course of action can be better utilised to 'turn this madness around', and further the cause of liberty.

Talk is cheap, and usually you get what you pay for. but most RP'ers are quiet achievers, doing what they can, behind the scenes, and the vocal minority, to help the cause to restore the nation.
Making an individual choice is what it's all about, but trying to convince others, that is the only choice, is not.

Answer one question; Knowing full well what the status quo is capable of, in order to influence the direction of this election, how can you possibly believe that a write-in, even in the few states it's considered an option, will be duly counted, recorded and reported in the MSM as a vote for Ron Paul. That didn't even happen when he was on the republican ticked, but now it will?

Two loosers in a two horse race, that nobody wants, and the best advice you want to give is..vote for what will be recorded as 'other'
and not reported.

I think your out to divide opinion my friend.
Choose wisely..

"Libertarian Party Fights Back Against

NEW Republican Party Attacks

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

Dear Fellow Libertarian,

Today, Pennsylvania Commonwealth Senior Judge James Gardner Colins is expected to rule on the Republican Party’s final attempt to nullify the Libertarian Party’s hard-won ballot status for 2012.

How did the Republicans try to nullify LP ballot status? They falsely claimed that we falsified thousands of petition signatures.

The truth? According to legal testimony and documents filed with Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams, Pennsylvania Republicans hired Reynold Selvaggio, “a private investigator to pose as an FBI officer and visit people who had gathered signatures for the Libertarian Party, offering them $2,000 in exchange for saying in court that the petitions they had gathered were falsified.”

Bribery? Suborning perjury to knock the Libertarian Party off the ballot?

That’s what we’ve been up against. That’s what we have to overcome.

Do you think that’s the end of the Republican Party’s Dirty Tricks to undermine and sabotage the Libertarian Party during this 2012 Election?

Not hardly.

Republicans have mounted a targeted stealth campaign to neutralize, compromise, and con our voters into staying home – or voting for Mitt Romney.

Which voters? Libertarian Party members, Ron Paul supporters, fiscal conservative independents, and True Blue Tea Party loyalists in razor-close Tipping Point states – New Hampshire, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Iowa, Nevada, Colorado – and even Montana.

Hundreds of these stealth Republicans, pretending to be Libertarians or Ron Paul activists, are regularly calling into Talk Radio shows, and telling listeners why they just can’t, can’t let Obama win – why they must, must vote for Mitt Romney.

These Republican Judas Goats are trying to use ‘Social Proof’ – a manipulation strategy – to trick liberty lovers into voting for Big Government Mitt Romney for President.

We have reports from Colorado and Montana of boiler room telephone operations – with fakers, counterfeits, and imposters pretending to be ‘tormented,’ ‘struggling,’ and ‘torn’ over whether to vote for Gary Johnson or Mitt Romney…and deciding that they must, must vote for Republican Mitt Romney.

Are YOU torn between voting for Libertarian Presidential candidate, Governor Gary Johnson – and Republican Mitt Romney?

Me neither!

Then there’s the direct mail flood from “Libertarians” for Romney, “Ron Paul Activists” for Romney, “Tea Partiers” for Romney. All trying to wear you down. Trying to convince us that Big Government Mitt Romney is really on our side. Trying to plant doubts, undermine our resolve, weaken our efforts – so we give up and stay home, or, vote Republican.

Talk Radio, phone calls, direct mail – and, of course, all over the Internet and Social Media.

Lies, half truths, and cons to talk our supporters out of voting Libertarian. To shut us up, grind us down, and demoralize us during these last 4 weeks before Election Day.

Republicans are working hard to drive down voter turnout for Libertarian Party candidates up and down the ticket.

The Mitt Romney Republicans will say anything and do anything to silence your voice for liberty. Your vote for liberty. And the votes of everyone that you and I win over to the cause of freedom.

Especially to push down the votes and turn out for our Libertarian Presidential Ticket: 2-Term Governor Gary Johnson and 25-Year Superior Court Judge Jim Gray.

Fight back. Help us fight back. We only have 28 days left.

Thank you."

I have spent 5 years supporting Ron Paul with everything I have.

And you think that in a matter of weeks a third party can out-do what we have done and make Gary Johnson President when 99% of the average person don't even know who he is?

You create a Daily Johnson.

You launch multiple Multi-Million Dollar Money Bombs.

You create Gary Johnson Meet-Up Groups Worldwide.

And don't forget to lease THE LARGEST BLIMP ON EARTH and write on it:

Google Gary Johnson. Get ready to spend serious money. We have.

Who is Gary Johnson? Make him World Renown in about 8 weeks.

We had 5 years.

You have about 8 weeks. Hurry (((Laughs!!!)))

Good luck and thanks for the laughs.

Which I don't really care anyway because 4 years is better than 8 and Paul supporters are too stupid to see how we can screw Romney and Obama at the same time. The just want to argue over details that don't matter in the big picture of things at this critical juncture.

To hell with your write ins and your affidavit bullshit. One can barely get people to vote much less have them jump through all those hoops. Dumbasses.

Ahh, all the people who say

Ahh, all the people who say writeins don't count are just buying into the system.

Vote for who YOU want. Don't vote by playing some stupid game about what counts and what doesn't. It isn't about anyone but you. It isn't Obama's vote. It isn't Romney's vote. It isn't Ron Paul's vote. It is your vote.

If they didn't allow me to "write in" a name in my state, I would write RON PAUL in big letters across the ballot/computer and walk out.

For me, this election was between Mickey Mouse and Ron Paul.

So, I'm writing in Ron Paul.

And, Florida gives me a space to write someone in, which should make Obama and Romney and all the other game players really mad.

Mission accomplished! Forever in the future, I will be able to tell people that I stood on principle and voted for the true patriot in the general election.

Totally agree

Thank You. These "people" are truly desperate.

Thank You. These "people" are truly desperate.

Notice the amount of "down votes" I have gotten on this thread when usually most of my writings get a very POSITIVE response.

Those "down votes" are from the "Anybody But Ron Paul" crowd.

Which means: They are afraid! Good news for us, RON PAUL R[3]VOLUTION.

Wisdom Strategies

A write-in vote for Ron Paul in Florida...

...will not be counted, because Ron Paul has not registered as a write-in candidate in Florida, which Florida law requires him to do. I repeat, no one will count or report your vote. This is the case in most States, only a handful of States count write-in votes for candidates who haven't registered - and Florida is not one of them.

"And, Florida gives me a space to write someone in, which should make Obama and Romney and all the other game players really mad."

No, it won't make anyone mad, because no one will count your vote. That space is for registered write-in candidates. If you write Ron Paul there, your ballot is going in the circular filing cabinet.

I'm really tired of people pretending like they're making some great stand against the powers-that-be by sticking with a write-in vote for Ron Paul. No, what you are doing is being stupid and stubborn, and wasting both your time and an opportunity.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Yes it will be

Yes it will be counted!!!

Your ignorance makes me suspicious of your intention.

I live in Duval county in Florida. Here look what happened in 2008.

See that? Those Ron Paul write in people stood on principle and almost beat the Hillary write in vote in my county.

Now, either apologize or scurry away and never come back here again.

Support a guy the average person has never heard about only weeks before the General Election? (Gary Johnson).

It takes YEARS to launch a World-Class Presidential Campaign - as WE - THE RON PAUL R[3]VOLUTION HAVE - TWICE!

Wisdom Strategies

"What Do You Want Us To Do: Support Romney?"

Uh...no. I want you to support Gary Johnson. And if you can't do that, and are determined to waste an opportunity by casting a vote for Ron Paul that won't be counted, well then at least don't come on the DP and try to persuade others to make the same stupid choice.

"Support a guy the average person has never heard about only weeks before the General Election?"

It's not about Gary winning the election, it's about giving libertarianism a little representation on election night. A vote for Gary means a bigger showing for libertarians, a vote for Ron Paul means at best a bigger showing for "other," which is how those write-in votes will be reported, if they are counted at all.

It's comical how you try to make it sound like it's a waste to vote for Gary since he can't win, when you are advocating casting a vote that won't even be counted! You are effectively telling people to write a name on a piece of paper and then throw it in the trash, and I'm wasting my vote? LOL.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Wisdom Strategies

I was a write in candidate for Philadelphia City Council

several years back. Many people told me they voted for me, I know I voted for myself. Months after the election I went to the Elections Commission to find out exactly how many votes I got - there wasn't even one. I contacted the Committee of Seventy (election watchdog group) naively thinking they would demand answers. They pretty much told me to jump in a lake.
Write -ins are a waste of ink and will only be counted if the establishment wants the to be counted (ie. Murkowski)

Here's the situation

There are some States (Arkansas, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Dakota) that will not count write-in votes at all, period. If you live in one of these States, and write-in Ron Paul, your vote will not be counted.

There are other States (Alabama, Iowa, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Vermont, Wyoming, PA**) which will count write-in votes and don't require the candidate to register, but there is no procedure for assigning write-in candidates electors, which means even if write-in candidate won 100% of the State popular vote, he would get 0 electoral votes. If you live in one these States and write-in Ron Paul, your vote will probably be counted, but there is no chance Ron Paul will get any electoral votes. I might add, even when votes are counted, they are typically reported as "other" or "write-in."

All the other States have procedures for a write-in candidate to register and submit a list of electors. However, no one can register for the candidate, the candidate must do it himself. Ron Paul has not and will not be registering as a write-in candidate in any State. If you live in one of these States, and you write-in Ron Paul, your vote will not be counted and there is no chance that Ron Paul will get any electoral votes.

**My State, Pennsylvania is a bit of an anomaly. Officially, a write-in candidate does not have to register, and their votes are supposed to be counted - so PA falls in the second group of States that I mentioned. However, in practice, write-in votes are typically not counted, and there is also no method for assigning electors to a write-candidate if he were to win a significant portion of the popular vote. If I were to write-in Ron Paul in my State, my expectation is that my vote would not be counted, not be reported in the media, and Ron Paul would get 0 electoral votes.

So I'm voting for Gary Johnson. If he wasn't running, I would simply stay home on election day, because casting a ballot that doesn't get counted or reported is simply a waste of my time.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

I'm going to vote for Johnson solely in hopes the LP hits 5% and gets how ever many millions for 16. No he's not going to win, no he's not RP but he's the closest. But if anyone wants to write in RP, go for it, somebody should take a picture and make a shirt out of it, it would prob sell well here :)
