Story from today

I was at a red light today and the guy on the corner had a Romney yard sign he had just picked up from the local Republican HQ. I rolled my window down and said "It should have been Ron Paul." He stared straight ahead for a few seconds, thinking of something to say that wouldn't alienate me. Finally he turns and says, "Hey, anybody but a liberal." I reply with, "Bailouts, Gun bans, and Romneycare? Romney IS a liberal."
Guy was dumbfounded. The end.

You got guts.

I'd probably get flipped off or worse.

Goldwater And Reagan

Are the only two conservatives the GOP has nominated in the past 50 years.

Presidential races have become a contest about which side is going to give out the most goodies. The GOP seems afraid to nominate someone away from the political center.

Happened again today:

60 yr old wearing an NRA hat. I complimented the hat but said I was disappointed that they endorsed a gun banning liberal. He said "ya I know but what choice did they have." I said Ron Paul. He said he liked him "but his foreign policy was whacky." I said he got more campaign contributions from active military than all other candidates combined. He was in disbelief. The end.

These kind of people...

...are RUSHbots! There is many of them around me. They quote him daily. First they were calling Romney a liberal and how it must not be him...anybody but him. Then they were saying, well, he is better than Obama. Now they are saying they really like him. They will follow Rush like little sheep! So funny, because even Rush calls himself an entertainer. That he certainly is! What he says is God's Word to some. How deaf, dumb and blind some are. Another link to phoney...Rush has family in the supreme court...Stephen Limbaugh! What connections! They are all tied together!

Isn't it odd or suspicious in

Isn't it odd or suspicious in a way how McCain wanted to run against Bush in 2000 as the Democratic nominee, then again as John Kerry's VP on the Dem ticket in 2004... and somehow he ends up as the 2008 nominee of the party that he wanted to run against?!?!?

There's a video on YouTube of Ann Coulter back in 2008 saying how McCain was more liberal than Hillary and that if the '08 came down to those two that she (Coulter) was going to actively campaign for Hillary against McCain!

Now in 2012 Romney becomes the nominee... Does anyone else remember many of the other Republican candidates referring to themselves as the "anybody but Romney candidates"? "Anybody but Romney" because I suppose they all agreed with you about Romney being a liberal at least in many ways. But somehow despite the "anybody but Romney" push... Romney gets nominated.

McCain in 2008 & Romney in 2012.... it simply does not make sense. It's as if the GOP actually wants to be running the weakest & least conservative candidates.

I love getting the empty stare from Romney supporters

Try this one on them "Name one government program or agency that Romney would cut."

“The welfare of the people in particular has always been the alibi of tyrants.” — Albert Camus

The same blank stare that I

The same blank stare that I used to get during the '08 campaign when I would ask Obama supporters to tell me what Obama plans to do without using the words 'hope' or 'change.'

Their eyes would gloss over & they would have that empty stare. Even one of my most politically up to date friends, who was an Obama supporter, could not answer that question.

Makes you think what people are voting for when they really have no clue what the candidate they support stands for.

I live in Texas and stil have not seen a Romney sign or sticker

I've seen a couple of Obama ones. Mostly all signs for senate and reps everywhere.

I see a few in Houston in the

I see a few in Houston in the more neo-con areas (west side). But it is sparse. Since I started my job in june I've seen maybe 10-20 ron paul/ liberty stickers on my commute and on 59 north and maybe 5 romney/ryan ones.

I'm seeing more Romney signs around here lately

I honestly get embarrased for them. When I see obama or romney signs I immediately know those people are clueless...most likely willfully ignorant. When I see a Ron Paul sign or sticker...I smile and feel like there is still hope for this world. I chase them down if they are in a car and get out a shoot the breeze with them. ALWAYS 100% of the time GREAT people who would give you the shirt off their back!

I need to start carrying some dum dum suckers so I can toss them to romney / obama stooges. lol

The people just now getting

The people just now getting Mitt signs are the same people that couldn't care less months ago when the primary was in full swing, they likely did not even vote in the primary! I am beginning to think Obama would be the best bet, the reason being that with Mitt in office, the Republicans will stop fighting socialism and Romney will implement a Republican version of ObamaCare, and the Dems won't fight him, and half the Republicans won't fight him! He will be able to get all kinds of liberal stuff through!

Interesting Point

Take Fox News. Would they let the Judge detail the executive branch's unconstitutional power grabs as they do if it were a Republican in the White House? I doubt it.
