Gary Johnson Disses Ron Paul, Father of Modern Liberty Movement, Says a Vote for Him is "Meaningless"Submitted by Sue4theBillofrights on Wed, 10/10/2012 - 21:50
It's as if someone had carried you across miles of wilderness, to make the liberty message mean something which was finally heard around the world, after years and even decades of mockery, vitriol, and vicious personal attacks to make you pay for your refusal to pander. To play ball like the rest of us. Then when he is shunted aside by the most sustained campaign of dirty tricks imaginable, to call any remaining support for him "meaningless." Why? Because you are a crass politician who would sell his own mother for a vote.
Johnson said in an online forum:
As much as I support Ron Paul I think writing in his name will effectively be meaningless. Count on me to be a military non-interventionist. I think Kony could have been more effectively dealt with by letters of marque and reprisal.
Since Gary Johnson has exactly the same chance of winning as Ron Paul does - zero - even if Paul scores many write-in victories, then a vote for Johnson is just as meaningless from this perspective.
What is not meaningless is the clarity of Ron Paul's message, as the only member of congress, besides, in fairness, Dennis Kucinich, to stand up and loudly defend our rights and to oppose NDAA. Everyone knows what Ron Paul stands for, because he has paid for his convictions dearly. How then is any vote for him "meaningless?"
Ron Paul's write-in votes will be counted and duly reported out in the states of AL, IA, WI, PA, CA, VT, NH, DE, RI, ME, and now MO. California's electoral votes alone impact the election hugely, and a strong Ron Paul vote there will be noticed.
Ron Paul may not be able to win. Just the same as Gary Johnson, unless the man is truly insane, which would put him in the company of the major party candiates. No expression of a voter's free will and choice of message to send is "meaningless" just because it does not further the career of Gary Johnson.
