We, this is the kind of

We, this is the kind of conversation that is helpful to me and I appreciate the time you have taken to give a thoughtful reply. Could you please consider my thoughts to your reply. They are my thoughts...this is the way my mind is working. If I need to think differently how am I supposed to know if I do not say what I am thinking?

We, who says a scattered vote is ignored? The truth of the matter may be that no voted is any longer counted because crime has become so strong some “preemptive nominee” will be the president just like we saw happen in the republican party. My gosh, aren't the votes counted in Spain or some crazy thing like that. Didn't some Union write the programming? I am at the point of asking whether voting is even real.

Johnson supports viability. People are questioning these days whether a 2 year old is viable. Viability is a slippery slope.

Ron Paul was going to allow competition to end the Fed. A 23% fair tax is not competition it is compulsion. To me the reason we are slowly becoming weaker and weaker as a nation of Liberty and Justice is because we are forced to pay for our own demise. I would rather see the states tax and give the federal government money to do the states bidding. Instead we send our money to the federal government and that government tells us what hoops we have to jump thru to get some of that money back. That is backwards. Will the fair tax be collected at a state or federal level?

STOP the infighting, and smell the roses DUDES!

Those who are still advocating the write-in Ron Paul only campaign, are doing EXACTLY what the establishment behind the two party system want you to do.

Their strategy is simple. If you won’t vote for one of the two presidential parties that be, please right in your Republican candidate Ron Paul. If he wins (which they know won’t happen), they have still secured the TWO PARTY SYSTEM.

Grow-up and smell the ROSES, the last thing the establishment wants, is for a THIRD PARTY to emerge out of all this.

This is not about Ron Paul, or even Gary Johnson for that matter, it's about breaking the existing two party system. Please people, “Put on your “Thinking Hats” while we still have a chance.

The Winds of Change!

Absolutely

Vote Johnson if you believe in liberty and you want to end the tyranny of the two party system.

There are many moles here trying to depress the Johnson vote by getting people to write in Dr. Paul.

Absorutery....

Write in Ron Paul if you believe in liberty and you want to end the tyranny of the two party system.

There are many butt monkeys here trying to depress Ron Paul write-ins by getting people to vote for Gary "invade Uganda" Johnson.

Gary "fix the Fed and restore it to its original purpose" Johnson
Gary "ban smoking on private property" Johnson
Gary "our children should die for Israel" Johnson
Gary "I'm all for humanitarian wars" Johnson
Gary "not a libertarian in any way" Johnson
Gary "tell me what you want me to say I believe and I'll pretend I believe it" Johnson
Gary "no crimes have been committed on Wall Street" Johnson **direct quote
Gary "there is no difference between me and neocons" Johnson

First Hand, this week experience

Let me tell you...the Romney voting, Tea Party activist, house guest from Colorado, friend of my husband, staying with us this week said that is exactly what will happen if Romney looses. The guy wants a 3rd party. He also supports the current foreign policy and torture...so...where does that guy fall into this mix? He was a Gingrich supporter...I tried to plant many Liberty Minded ideas! He was also surprised I was not voting GJ. (For me, that is because of the life issue.)

He also told me he expected Rand Paul to be the face of the 3rd Party. The guy is an active tea party member...and a 25 year retired military officer.

"Grow Up and smell the roses"..that comment reminds me of the GOP person telling me as a Ron Paul supporter to "fall in line" and vote Ted Cruz.

Dictators...dictate?
...

A handful here at DP must be establishment infiltrators

Their mission: convince as many Ron Paul supporters as possible to fracture their vote into write-ins, not voting, and other less significant candidates, in order to minimize the impact of Governor Gary Johnson.

It's so obvious, most of them are newer members too.

It certainly couldn't be that....

most Ron Paul supporters are serious about their libertarianism and have problems with Gary Johnson's:

1) expressed desire to send troops to Uganda to take out Kony
2) expressed support generally for "humanitarian" wars
3) promise to support Israel militarily
4) expressed support of banning smoking on private property
5) position of "fixing" the Fed and "restoring it to its original purpose" instead of getting rid of it (wtf? hahahahaha!)
6) desire for a frickin' CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT enshrining gay marriage as a right (HUGE can of worms and pandora's box that would give the federal govt massive new powers to meddle in your personal affairs)

That Ron Paul supporters who are serious about their libertarianism could possibly object to Gary Johnson is just too wacky. It MUST be a conspiracy from outsiders!

*rolls eyes*

Gary Johnson is an interventionist both on foreign policy and domestic issues, and aside from non-aggression, govt interventionism is the greatest libertarian sin.

I appreciate your well-pointed post

The other thing that I feel GJ differs from Ron Paul on is the vey essential element to protecting liberty. RP says "Unless we understand…we must protect life, we cannot protect liberty."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkAsLPrnJGc&feature=player_em...

and there is the potential that he is a co-opt...

This clip is from Bill Still, host of long time Daily Paul recommended viewing "The Money Masters"

Someone is not telling the truth and I would like to know who it is."

This issue is a major concern to me as there is resident power in this Liberty Movement that the ptb would like to squelch or lead. When I saw that clip it gave me great concern.

...

Thanks,,,

for the Bill Still video link. Very curious and compelling. Roger Stone is truly creepy.

As far as the LP, Rothbard, Rockwell and Ron Paul all left the LP at about the same time in pure disgust over what it had become: a party that would have serious discussions over whether child porn should be legal and a party whose primary goal seemed to be hating Western culture and tradition.

I guess the neocons have decided to reanimate and possess the dead carcass and attempt to steer it into the neocon fold (like Cato and the Koch's).

As far as Gary Johnson, they call Romney the flip-flopper, Gary Johnson seems to be the dark master of morphing at the slightest shift in the wind. More subtle. But probably even more evil than Romney's oh-so-obvious 180 degree flip-flops.

.
~wobbles but doesn't fall down~

Didn't know that!

I am not familiar with the history of the LP. Thank you relaying that information. I've been blindly stuck in the GOP my whole life voting for the lesser of 2 evils...all because of the pro-life issue which imo the republican party has held hostage so that they might hold moral Americans hostage to the party all the while promoting an otherwise progressive agenda.

I am looking at Virgil Goode this year...again because of the pro-life issue. Do you have any thoughts along those lines? Thanks!

If I were to vote....

for a candidate listed on the ballot, I would vote for Virgil Goode before any other. Otherwise, I would write in Ron Paul.

As of now my plan is to not vote at all...

.
~wobbles but doesn't fall down~

Seems I have been on all of those bases too!

Ron Paul is not a valid write in here in MO because of the sore looser laws. Otherwise I would proudly write in his name. However those same rules say that if a write and and a ballot candidate are both selected that the ballot candidate will have presidence...seems subject to tampering to me.

I have always voted, so I am not quite ready to go sit out, but it has definitely crossed my mind this year.

Thanks!

Calling Names and Making Accusations

I surely hope you are not speaking of me. Just because someone is not on the GJ bandwagon does not mean they are some kind of infiltrator. I have a hard time voting for anyone who is not pro life. As a matter of fact, I would have never been on Ron Paul's band wagon if he were not pro life.

RP says "Unless we understand…we must protect life, we cannot protect liberty."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkAsLPrnJGc&feature=player_em...

I also do not appreciate being told that a 23% tax is "fair". How is that Liberty?

The way I see things is there are some people who will not or cannot civilly discuss the issues, but rather call names and make accusations.

By the way, I sent the 2 Ron Paul books I ordered (at your suggestion) home with a Colorado Tea Party activist. Thought maybe I could spread some liberty as well as persuade someone not to vote Romney.

I would LOVE to vote for Gary Johnson, if only he were Pro-Life. I will not cast a ballot toward the death of the unborn.

GJ just as RP wants the states to decide on the abortion issue and he mentioned on Twitter he would appoint pro life Judge Andrew Napolitano to SCOTUS!!!

Hi Legalize

Thank you for that information on Judge Nap. What a great addition to the court! I will take that into consideration.

I realize that Ron Paul wants issues decided at the state level as directed by the consitution, but what about this: 2005, 2007, 2009, and 2011, Paul introduced the Sanctity of Life Act, which would have defined life as beginning at conception at the Federal level. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Ron_Pau...

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/112/hr1096

If I understood GJ correctly he supports the law of the land, which I think he is referring to Roe vs. Wade.

Dr. Pauls act would specifically defunct that supreme court ruling.

good points.

good points.

Thank you for your cordial reply.

I believe the reason that Dr. Paul says if you cannot protect life you cannot protect liberty [rough quote] is along the lines of Martin Niemoller's quote https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_they_came...

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the socialists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

i.e. if we cannot protect the first lead off to slaughter we will not be able to protect the next and finally there will be no one to protect us. It is no wonder that the ptb support pain, suffering and death around the world as well as torture when we have such a low view of life starting with inception. It is all linked if I understand Dr. Paul correctly.

Additionally one may also link "pro-choice" with pro-democracy where the 2 wolves and a 1 lamb take a vote on what to have for dinner. Sadly, the unborn have no voice in the matter and are over-powered by the right of choice.

It is no wonder that the public arena now includes talk of "death panels" under Obamacare, after birth abortion for 2 year olds, and death by drone for untried US Citizens.

How are we going to protect Liberty and Justice for all if we do not start at the beginning of life?
-------------
I am additionally concerned that the Libertarian Party has been co-opted by the GOP ptb:

This clip is from the host of long time Daily Paul recommended viewing "The Money Masters"
http://www.dailypaul.com/257075/does-anyone-know-more-about-...
with attached video http://www.you tube.com/watch?v=0Y1egV2Q2FE&feature=youtu.be

Someone is not telling the truth and I would like to know who it is."

That point is a major concern to me as there is resident power in this Liberty Movement that the ptb would like to squelch or lead. When I saw that video it gave me great concern and no one seems to want to talk about it except that I did have someone tell me that Bill Still is "fringe." Ron Paul people are supposedly "fringe" too, so that information does not settle the issue in my mind.
-----------------
I only want to have discussion on the issues. I have a ballot to cast in November and I want to vote my conscience. If Gary Johnson supporters do not know that there are people who disagree with his fair tax and life stance then how will they ever know better? Maybe Gary Johnson would take another look at those issues.

If his supporters do not know that there is talk that he is or has been co-opted then how will they know better? How will Friends of Liberty be sure that they are on the right page with Liberty if we do not openly discuss the issues?

Additionally, his peace sign t-shirt imo is a little too "market friendly," like he as been "dressed" for his audience. It is concerning to me.

IMO the future of Liberty is dependent upon people recognizing Liberty, and if I am wrong I want to know it so I can know better. I will not know I am wrong if people chooose to brush aside the issues and call names.

...

I think there are more than just a few!

And the NON-Thinkers have fallen right into their trap! Like sheep to the sheerer!

I wish Ron Paul would speak out on this issue.

The Winds of Change!

Thinkers

I would be happy for Ron Paul to speak out on the issue. It would be very helpful. And I am not a NON Thinker. I think for myself and ask alot of questions. I have asked questions above and I would like them answered. The reason I want discussion is because I want to think. I also want the person I am in discussion with to think as well instead of marginalizing.

Ventura could have done this for Ron Paul...

had Dr. Paul's "professional" campaign staff simply asked him.

Ron Paul was trying to win the Republican nomination

Jesse Ventura wouldn't have been much help in that, if at all.

That may be true but I'm not

That may be true but I'm not so sure. Ventura being a military man may have mollified some Republicans who thought Paul was "weak" on foreign policy. It's hard to say for sure, but I suspect Ventura's advocacy would have helped more than it hurt.

However, its also not clear Ventura would have supported anyone in the Republican party. But again for Ron Paul - he might have. It's water under the bridge at this point anyway. Not much point in speculating.

Ventura has repeatedly said he would only run independent

And he said he would consider being Ron Paul's VP, but only if he wasn't a Republican.

That would have meant Ron Paul had to drop out of the Republican Party, which would have messed up Ron Paul's entire strategy.

The Republican Party hates Ventura; much more than Ron Paul.

For those with ears to hear, listen to all of this.

Please!

Thanks again

At first I was not sure if I should post it -- now I am glad I did.

I Love Jesse Ventura

But I really thought he should have spoken more about Gary in his introduction. He didn't really have much at all to say about him, other than that he was a third-party candidate.

He talked a lot about Gary..

He talked a lot about Gary..

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

Did I Miss Something?

I heard him say that when they met twelve years ago Gary Johnson was a moderate Republican.

I heard him that Gary Johnson finally saw the light and quit the Republican party.

I heard him say he will be proud to vote for Gary Johnson.

I heard him call Gary Johnson a trailblazer.

I heard him say that with Gary Johnson as president the country would finally be moving in the right direction again.

In his 30-minute speech, did he say anything else about Gary Johnson?

___________________________________________________________________________
"Bipartisan: both parties acting in concert to put both of their hands in your pocket."-Rothbard

Yes, He Did

He made the case for voting against the status quo and working outside the system, using Gary as an example of how to do that, throughout. Great job.

He also, obviously, is running, himself.

And, he's wrong about money and speech. Money and speech are both rights, if it's your own money.

We need to end crony-capitalism and the need for corporations to lobby government by ending the onerous regulations that give the advantage to big corporations. Once that's done (and Gary could be right about the Fair Tax on that point), the smaller corporations and family businesses will run rings around those corporations that waste money on campaigns.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

Removing the chains of

Removing the chains of regulation and over-taxation from small business is definitely the key to reinvigorating employment as well as the economy in general. Small businesses create 90% of net new jobs. Clearly that is the place to start and yet the last two administrations have been nothing but a hindrance to small business.

And I agree that capital needs to be refocused on productive activity, not paying off Washington insiders for scraps from the government teat.
