Plea from Saeed in Iran: "Please help us"

I recently wrote a blog post comparing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's warnings about Iran to the flatly false declarations he made about Iraq a decade earlier. The post went on to refute three key assumptions built into America's anti-Iranian animus: That Iran is building a nuclear weapon, that Iran's leaders are genocidal, and that Iran's leaders are irrational. (It can be found at http://libertymcg.com/2012/09/30/netanyahu-the-bibi-who-crie... )

Last night around midnight, I was struck by receiving an impactful comment on that post from someone who identified himself as an Iranian man named Saeed. I've copied it here just as I received it, with all its imperfections:

"I'm Iranian. I'm 28 years old. I'm expert in my job. I marriage 3 mounts before. It's the time that I should be happy and make my own feature. Our economy crushed because of us sanctions. Living in Iran have become harder and harder.

You all are living in free world but the roulette wheel of chance force me to being middle of this funny struggle between some stupid governments of Iran , Us and Israel. We are the nation that don't attack any country in past 200 years. We have the great history of about 2500 years.

Please Help us. i'm not guilty about nuclear and terrorists. my opinion is like you. I want to live in peace."

Naturally, I cannot vouch for its authenticity, but it seems more likely than not that it is real--and so I share Saeed's words to amplify his voice, to illustrate the human impact of our misguided sanctions and to reinforce liberty-minded peoples' dedication to a rational foreign policy.

The Iranian's want Peace like the rest of us!

I have a friend from Iran, She is one of the most kind and loving people around, She hated having to live under muslim rule in Iran. She lived under muslim rule because of the US meddling in the country in 53, Ousting Mohammad Mosaddegh.

She is a Christian, Christian's, Jewish, and Muslims all live together in Iran, and they all want to live in Peace. . Just like the rest of us!

what I find strange

Is that a big amount of the people that live in Iran are Jewish. I find strange that you can go to the UN website and search all Resolutions condemning Israel for atrocities, well over 50. How many on Iran? 1 if you are lucky. Iran has not attacked anyone in a super long time, but did retaliate when people started wars with them. They kind of exemplify what Ron Paul is always saying, dont attack others, but be for defense. We did this to Iraq, with sanctions because Saddam would not do what we told them, so we starved off a million civilians in Iraq and WONDER WHY they hated us being there. Its essential we do not go to war with Iran, especially if Israel trys to sucker us in like they always do.
I wonder why all them Jewish people live in Iran if its so horrible against Israel.....naa I know what it is, Israel is full of BS, and them people know it.

For Liberty!!!

Actually, it isn't strange. It has nothing to do with jews.

It has to do with Iran not selling its oil in the US petro-dollar. It could be a nation completely made of Jewish citizens. The US is still going to wreck havoc on the country because of the challenge to the world reserve currency status of the federal reserve note.

Saw this original post on your blog...

and got it in my email as well. Regardless of my cautious skepticism it reminded me that there are real people over there who are being hurt by our leaders actions. I'm leaning towards it being genuine, and am now more motivated to push the truth out there!

"There is only one kind of freedom and that's individual liberty. Our lives come from our creator and our liberty comes from our creator. It has nothing to do with government granting it." -Ron Paul

There's a way of authenticating whether he is in Iran.

You're using Wordpress for your blog so you can actually check the IP addresses of the people who comment.

If you go to the Admin Dashboard, there's a menu item on the left sidebar named "Comments" you can click on that and browse through to the right one then look at the details.

Once you get the IP you can use an IP WHOIS (http://whatismyipaddress.com/ip-lookup for example) to see where it's coming from. It will give a geographical map as well as latitude and longitude coordinates.

Problem solved.

Not always

Thank you awl19; I actually did that the moment I received it, but it's not so simple.

Per the U.K. Daily Mail*, "Iran has one of the biggest Internet filters of any country in the world, preventing normal Iranians from accessing countless sites on the official grounds they are offensive or criminal...Virtual private network (VPN) software, which makes the computer appear as if it is based in another country, is commonly used by Iranians to overcome the government filter."

Rather than tracing to a neighborhood, the IP associated with Saeed's comment traces to a VPS (Virtual Private Server) hosting company in a U.S. city.

Iran is a Geopolitical fault line of the Petro Dollar

The real terrorists are the lap dogs of those who control the Petro dollar, who work to propagate the wars and propaganda.

The Useful idiots are the naive American public that believe any of the propaganda.

I wanted to puke all over myself

last night watching Ryan spout off the party line on Iran and the Ayatollah wanting to get a nuclear weapon.

It was disgusting and that one display alone was enough to reenforce me not only writing in Dr. Paul but actively working against these warmongering scum. I'll bet Lindsey Graham did something quite different all over himself when he watched that.

When It Comes to Assumptions

When it comes to assumptions, I think of all the people I went to high school with, their parents and their children, and the range of personalities and values they had or have: their ethics, their talents, their values, their spirituality, their honesty, their needs and contributions, weaknesses and strengths. Do I trust them? Some yes, some no, and some it depends.

Then I assume that the people in other countries are at least that varied.

I know I have more in common with libertarians in other countries than I do with statists in mine when it comes to the role of government.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

This is Iraq 2.

I am thinking Iran may have more friends than Iraq though...could be wrong.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.

You are

completely on point. Russian president Medvedev has already issued a warning to the US and Israel, that attacking Iran will be seen as an act of war, and met with aggression.

Mike G.

Can't we the people

ask Russia to be very efficient on their choice of bomb drops if we hit Iran. I mean it won't be we the people bombing Iran.

Here's my contribution...

One of my good friends is from Iran. This plea is real... here's my response to the call- help spread it around!

bump for peace

Gary Johnson said yesterday that ALL sanctions on Iran must be stopped.

sometimes LL can suck & sometimes LL rocks!
Love won! Deliverance from Tyranny is on the way! Col. 2:13-15

This is why Ron Paul is right and Rand is wrong.

Rand supported sanctions on Iran while Ron calls them an act of war which they are. Iraq was under sanctions for twelve years from 1991 until the Iraq invasion. They resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people and reduced the country to third world status.

I visited the Middle East in 1996 and found that the Iraqi people were very highly thought of while the Saudis were despised. Saudi Arabia is a staunch US ally and is the real source of all Islamic extremism. It is a topsy turvy world we live in.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

Speak for yourself David

I don't fly. I don't eat junk food. I work hard to help people wake up to whats going on. But my friends and I can't go arrest the criminals in DC (and in the state houses all over the country) the members of the military and/or an organized militia needs to do that. Oath keepers comes to mind.

All I can do is remain aware of whats going on and avoid dealing with the criminal cabal that has usrped the power centers of this country. As much as I can, without doing things that will get me kidnapped and put in a cage, I ignore the criminals and just try to stay clear of them. Until more people wake up there is not much more I can do. My income is so low they don't get anything from me other than sales taxes...and I refuse to legitimize their rule over me by voting.

Naturally you can't vouche for it but you put it up..?

This is nothing more than an attempt to demonize the leaders of Iran. I strongly oppose posting a story that can not be verified as legitimate. This is wrong on so many levels that I shake my head in disbelief that anyone would value this post as any thing other and Israeli propaganda.

I'm not following your logic.

How would this be Israeli propaganda? Please explain as I would like to understand. My first thought was that it would be Iranian propaganda because it is said to be from an Iranian pleading for help. Thanks!

Nope. You're wrong.

This is bringing light to what many people all over the world are realizing: Their respective leaders are involving their citizens in what is essentially a pissing contest on a Global level. What this response does, real or not, is it resonates with people that these leaders are leading us HUMAN BEINGS into more war and more uncertainty.

But WE ARE CERTAIN. WE want PEACE! We want to grow old and leave this life feeling content with the world our children are stepping out into to carry on. Sure, Iran is the lesser of the evils that the US and Israel are. Does Iran warmonger? No not at all but it's still no saint because there is still forms of oppressing people's freedoms in EVERY structure of Government.

Until people are left to govern themselves without hand-holding these comments need to be taken to heart. WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!

"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience"—Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

I think this goes beyond a pi$$ing contest...

although it certainly is that... As always with wars like this, the source, course and goal is the greed of the international banking cartel and what Ben Swann was saying about Petrodollars. Also, I recently read that Iran's Central Bank is one of but a handful of Central Banks left in the world that is independent of whatever cartel owns the US Federal Reserve. Kind of telling that the others are North Korea and Cuba. And before 2001 that list included Sudan, Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya.

“Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.” —Thomas Jefferson

It does indeed

The Central Banking system is only the means by which this Global cartel WERE fulfilling their agenda with succession... until people began waking up to it—the system itself and the other systems it funds, such as the Military Industrial Complex.

You've connected the dots quite well. Isn't it a great feeling to know that you can now see through all the BS?

Thank you for your insight, Shaman.

"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience"—Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

David, from your comment, I think you are misunderstanding.

Please read the letter again. It is critical of U.S. and Israeli government policy of sanctions, it's not pro-Israel propaganda.

just because this guy is saying, literally, what the president of iran is saying, that doesn't mean anything!
the zionists will tell me who to believe and i LIKE it like that
so quit making these iranian people "personal"
i have to "depersonalize" them so i can justify KILLING them

sarcasm still intended but over now...

9/11 Truth.

I would ask you to explain your reasoning

but I'm afraid you might. Unless you are implying some type of reverse psychology, what is being protested in this letter is the sanctions the US is imposing on Iran.

What do you mean?

How is the quote above in any way supportive of Israel? Israeli pushes the sanctions that everyday Iranians are suffering under. And the blog-post Saeed commented on is very critical of the Israeli prime minister and the West's policy toward Iran generally.

Further, Saeed describing himself as being caught up in a dispute between three "stupid" governments is hardly equivalent to singling out Iran's leaders or "demonizing" them.
