I want my Revolution TV

0 votes

We need to think into the future, I want my Revolution TV, with news, culture, pollitics, etc... with a Constitutional viewpoint.

Movies that promote individual Liberty, wise gun use, good guys who are good and stand for good, etc... Please no westerns... just joking.

I can see it now.

Anyone got the ability to make it so, I'm willing to work to make it where people can get their Revolution TV.
Maybe stream video on net at first then go to national markets.

So I 'watched' Tom Green's internet broadcast

It is not literally a 'live' broadcast. As I was watching the show, the screen locked up and hadn't come back in a few minutes. So, I refreshed the screen and the whole show started over again. Obviously not live.

Multiple camera's are also an issue on his show. I could try to explain what a failure this was, but it's too confusing and technical to do it right. Lets just say 'garbage screen' is what using multiple cameras displayed.

The show plays up to the same point and abruptly stops and freezes in the same spot every time. Of the reported 2 hour broadcast, I've seen about 3 minutes of it before it falls apart and freezes up.

I dont know if it his attempt at using multiple cameras that is doing it, or just a bad broadcasting program. It could even be that his bandwidth is being eaten up by an increased number of viewers (thanks to the Daily Paul announcements about his program).

Whatever the case, I cannot use the example of Tom Green's show as a quality reference to work a similar site. Whatever he is doing is what we should NOT be doing - as far as his setup is concerned.

Yes, great idea about the live show. No, it's not functional or usable in it's current form.

I'm still researching potential avenues to follow, and hope others will as well.

If you decide to take the time to look into possible broadcast software, here's some things to remember:

1. It must be able to be broadcast from any location to a single server
2. It must be able to capture a file of the broadcast for viewing at a later date
3. It must be something that more than one 'news room' can use, and broadcast their video to our server
4. It must be something that can be embedded in our site, for viewing in ANY browser.

For number 4, if it means a standard plugin like flash, or that the file gets saved to different formats (avi, mpg, rm, mov, etc) that would work.

Proprietary viewers and plugins should be avoided if we can avoid them. Many people will not install plugins they do not recognize.

If we can at least get the video broadcast live - whether we have to broadcast the initial live version through some other system or not - we absolutely need to have full access to the resulting file for archiving purposes.
It is too difficult to try to archive, index and categorize/schedule video broadcasts when those broadcasts are not on our own server.

I'll keep looking. Though, so far, the few spots I did look were filled with pornographic 'channels' - so if you're going to join in the hunt, be careful where you go and what you click on - it can get nasty out there.

Is Revolution TV going to be

Interactive?

Interactive.. that deserves

Interactive.. that deserves an explanation.

The system I'm hoping to get together will allow for people to 'interact' with the live broadcast by giving a text-based area where questions could be asked, or comments made.

If you mean 'interactive' as in a camera in the broadcast room, and one in the viewer's home/office, and they can interact with one another - no, that wont work.

Imagine trying to filter through a few hundred webcam connections, everyone talking on top of one another, and bandwidth being used to the max so that noone can communicate at all.

Text based at the 'viewer' end is how the interactivity can work.

I'll also set up a system to submit questions in advance of a broadcast, so that you'll be able to ask a question and perhaps have it answered - then view the rebroadcast or archive of the broadcast at a later time.

REALLY like this idea

More than a talkshow

To me the idea of Revolution TV should run all day no just a show or a talk show.

I see news, culture, cooking, comedy, etc... all with the theme or ideas of individual liberty and/or Constitutional overtones in every show that comes on the Channnel.

For ex cooking show could talk about how forefathers did stuff and focus on their writings and daily lifes that show how individuals with lots of liberty sustained themselves without government nanny state.

GREAT IDEA....

GREAT IDEA....

I have completed the basic

I have completed the basic framework for an online solution for this idea.

It still needs a lot of work, mostly in the 'back end' of things. I'll be putting together the database systems and applications for running the site - but still need someone to find out how we're going to get live video feeds into the system.

I'm hoping that there will be some company/software out there that will allow us to set up a camera anywhere we want, 'plug in' to the site and feed the video directly to internet viewers.

This system should also automatically save a copy of the broadcast on the server for archiving purposes.

www.eTeli.com is where the framework of the site is at. You can click around and get a 'feel' for how it will flow. Comments are welcome, of course!

Thanks,

Maybe Tom Green would be willing to give some pointers

as to how he set up his Interactive Internet TV station and how he is able to broadcast a TV show over the Internet on a daily basis. And the way he was talking it didn't sound all that expensive or complicated.

I really looks like he nailed it.

I'm gonna watch his

I'm gonna watch his broadcast tonight to get a feel for how it works at the 'user end'.

What I'm wondering is mostly about the broadcast locations, and what it takes to do it.

I know it takes cameras, lighting and whatever software he's using - but if we're going to have a live broadcast system set up, I think it would be best to make it so we can have more than one location to broadcast from.

One in every state would be great. But if it's a whole different set of software installs, each requiring their own fees, it could get out of hand financially.

There's probably something out there that is easy to use, which is what I'm hoping to find. Having to train 1 person on how to use the software is going to be interesting enough.. imagine if it were dozens.. or hundreds.

We'll figure something out I'm sure.. where the funding for something like this would come from I dont know. I was thinking we could find a suitable software system to handle the live broadcast, and anyone who wanted to set up either a 'newsroom' or even an 'on the street reporter' type of broadcast would have to be individually funded for their broadcast.

I'm not sure how that would work. Making a 'tape' and uploading it is basically free if you have any kind of video camera that you can hook up to a computer.. but the live broadcasts, with no 'delay', are gonna be fun.

"Tom Green Live is a LIVE

"Tom Green Live is a LIVE Internet-based talk show featuring celebrity guests, hosted by comedian Tom Green, from his living room…yes, his actual living room. The show is LIVE at TomGreen.com, The Channel, from 8pm-9pm Monday through Friday. Although technically it’s a talk show, it’s really much more than that. Tom Green Live is non-political, and because The Channel is completely independent, pretty much anything goes! With a combination of A-List celebrity guests, a global audience, and Tom’s signature brand of comedy, Tom Green Live is unlike anything you’ve seen before! Tom takes calls over the phone, along with Skype video calls from viewers from locations as varied as the U.S.A, Canada, Australia, Estonia, and Argentina, not to mention several others! The mission is simple, to make you laugh, and to make you, the viewers, an integral part of the show by harnessing the power of the National Internet, something no other show can offer, sounds cool right? Check it out right here by clicking on the “Tom Green Live” tab on the player, oh, and make sure you tell a friend!"

This is not a video... it is Live Internet TV.

I believe this is the only Live Interactive Internet TV station broadcasting on a daily basis. It has been doing this for the last 18 months.

It sounds like he put this together on a shoestring budget. He was featured on CNN this morning and gave a tour of his livingroom, where he does his broadcasts and is decorated like a talk show studio set. Looks quite professional.

I just started a RP Video Site

I agree totally! Although this will never make MSM airwaves ... I have started a Ron Paul Video site. This is obviously not live ... but I am a HUGE RP supporter and I am going to update as much as possible!

This is a great idea and it

This is a great idea and it should be taken very seriously. The severely biased MSM watchers need to get a reality check. Anything that would bring the RP message to television is something I would strongly support. Count me in!

I have been saying this for a while now

We need to start a new station! We have the power and the ability. If anyone is interested in joining with me to build up a new MSM station please write me at justin@mass-appealmedia.com

Ron Paul has my vote!

Ok, I'll take step one..

Making it work is going to take time and resources.

Like the other video sites that are being put up, this one is (for now) just that, "another video site".

Having a thousand sites with links to the YouTube videos is great, if you want to thin out the effect. There is such a thing as 'too much content' :)

To make a difference, the site will need to have something.. well.. different. Live broadcasts are possible - but who has the equipment? Who has the bandwidth? Who has the software? Who is going to be behind the camera, take incoming questions or calls, arrange marketing to get the word out that a live event his happening?

Those are the things that need to be done. I'm not saying they can't be done - it's just that one person cant do it all.

I can make an all-inclusive Ron Paul site with indexed links to every RP video out there, and even add a few of my own. I can make flash movies that better explain different positions on different topics, and of course I can make funny videos using the information that is already out there.

I can build polling systems, forums, questionairres, blogs, messaging systems, security, graphics and everything related to the site itself - but the 'newsroom' part of it is where I'd fall short. Whatever software or 3rd party system that would be used to get the video onto the site.. that's what we'll need to figure out.

The domain name eTeli.com can even be used with a higher tier name if it's needed.. like "revolution.eteli.com" or 'RevTV.eTeli.com". I control that domain name so it's available if it's needed.

I'm gonna get some sleep now.. will check back in the AM for more comments, advice, concerns, etc. If you all really want to do this, I'll chip in with the parts I can do.

In short we'll need:
1 - a way to get live video to the site
2 - a way to get that video distributed to hundreds or thousands of viewers
3 - a place for the video to be shot
4 - the cameras, lighting, etc that will be needed

The rest is not difficult to do. A bit time consuming, but nothing that I havent written before.

We can work on details as we move ahead.

G'Night :)
