Best Doug Casey Speech Ever! An Anarchist, Economic Collapse & 7 Billion Chimpanzees

This is Doug Casey at Libertopia, this is without a doubt his best speech ever. He holds no punches amongst fellow libertarians and anarchists. This is informative and excellent!

What's with the small crowd?

Any why does Doug Casey continually call her Ann Rand lol?

Gotta agree that his advice is well suited to millionaires. Most people barely have enough money for a plane ticket out of the country, much less for piles of gold and silver to be stashing around the world, not to mention taking exploratory trips to such countries in the first place.

Why would I even listen to somebody who thinks he's surrounded by 7 billion chimpanzees? Show him to the nearest tree, not a microphone.

And what's with "Libertopia"? Liberty has nothing to do with utopia, and anybody trying to connect utopia and liberty is sticking a knife in our backs. Liberty would only be a utopian society if society was filled with perfect people, rather than what we got; violent and covetous people.

Let me ask you a question...

Let me ask you a question... Do you have any insurance to protect you and your loved ones when this economic situtation blows up in your face? Do you have silver coins? storage food? water? meds? etc. Are you going to be ready when and if the power goes out for a long time? are you ready when the trucks stop rolling and the grocery stores are not restocked? IF YOU ARE NOT, YOU ARE AND WILL ACT LIKE ALL THE OTHER CHIMPANZEES. This is his point that you missed.

Here in CA

Earthquake insurance and preperation are laws. Buildings had to be retrofit, everything built has to pass inspection, you pay insurance, and penalties like fire insurance and numberous federal and state LAOs, there are rules, regulation, proceedures all laid out for when the big one hits. In some areas like mine, you have to know that you will be without power for at least three weeks earthquake or not. We also know that Church, organizations and people will pull together to help each other. I have a lot of insurance and not all of it is by choice, but by law. I have found personally, my best insurance is my Church.

Godless Jesus, king of the chimpanzees says what?

The people you're calling chimpanzees aren't chimps any more than you, but that won't stop you from self aggrandizing and calling them chimps.

Don't worry about me or my property. I'll be fine. Even when I die, I'll be fine. Worry about yourself.

Ever hear of bush meat? Some people have no problem eating chimp.

I listened to the whole thing.

Great talk.

Lord Acton, Lord Chief Justice of England, 1875 - "The issue which has swept down the centuries and which will have to be fought sooner or later is the People v. The Banks."

He's awake, but a total pessimist

If the founders were such pessimists we would never have stood up to the British Crown.

I agree we need to scrap the system, & start new.
But why the hell should we just accept that a snow ball is going so squash us. There's always something that can be done.

I think Maybe were just not thinking outside of the collectivist box enough ?

Many people here want to apply theories of minimal collectivism to contain out of control collectivist problems.

"Take hold of the future or the future will take hold of you." -- Patrick Dixon

Pessimism is a death knell

People who think outside the box don't get any response. Every solution proposal I've posted has the bare minimum responses and votes. Only negative critiques spend more than a few seconds on them.

I also completely disagree with scrapping the system and starting new. There is a way to actually correct it from the ground up, using free market principles but once again, it's too out of the box for people to even finish reading it.

It's the terrible democratic system that's been implemented here

The superficial is manipulatively voted up to prominence by the superficial and ignorant mob, and excellence is ridicule, overlooked, and ignored, just the same.

Why are we promoting democracy as a good way to judge ideas on a site that purports to be dedicated to restoring a republic anyway?

It's insane.

I rather trust my local produce farmer

than the BS of this illuminist, wrapped up in anarcho-libertarian Jolly Roger flag financial speculator, who probably never had a real job in his life.Yet,another one of those gamblers that are running around the world, you see them ever so often on the TV,mesmerizing the suckers, looking for an easy pray willing to surrender some of their hard earned cash to their pan.
If you pay close attention to his speech (and bunch of other similar speeches) you will hear hardly anything of real value, except the bragging of a self centered cynical rich old fart living next to his Polo Club in a third world broke Argentina. No allegiances folks, to you me,or anyone else, the only worship here paid is to the Golden Calf. I very much doubt that this guy will make it for more that 3 days on the streets of Buenos Aires with no money, no place to stay, and no highly placed friends in the US to call.
Talking class and refinement,taste.. to the.... chimpanzees, implying at the same time to the innocent student girl from the suckers crowd that if she really is so dumb and doesn't know how roll the dice like him to make a buck, she may as well roll down her pants. You may as well go and deposit your gold coins directly with this guy..no..in his safe deposit box in Argentina and give him the key.! He will guard them...devious ,arrogant fat cat!
After this swan song,I wish Casey and his followers reincarnate, after a good hell fry, instead of Chicago in the 40's in the former Soviet Union,so I can send them a greeting card from promised land named America.

Beware folks, in those last days you will hear many of false preachers, megaphone clowns and lackeys.Just think about it for a second, with several million dollars in the bank you can be anything....RP supporter-donor,anarchist,a commie, monarchist, synarchist you name it.Those Pinokios noses are so long they can smell your cash from afar. You see, even Kevin Trudeau-the clown was better, way more entertaining, he was giving something of value to the suckers down bellow, how to stay away from the GMo garbage food in WalMa that is.
As the late Bill Cooper used to say-"Read everything, listen to everyone-trust absolutely nothing, and no one unless you have checked the facts and proved it for yourself".

I don't know a whole lot about his background & I'm not going to spend a bunch of time looking it up. However, I'll say this:

For this 66 year old man to be standing there and make joking insinuations to the 20-something young woman to engage in "free-market prostitution" to make it in this world was OUTRIGHT OFFENSIVE. You can bet your life people like Ron Paul, Lew Rockwell, Judge Nap, Tom Woods etc. would NEVER EVER stoop to such levels.

Utterly classless.

Immoral funding of Military Industrial Complex by Federal Reserve and US taxation system must stop!!!! End illegal/unconstitutional wars! Preserve US currency!

Safety in numbers?

Unless one is a multi-millionaire, attempting to do what he is suggesting will be very questionable imo.

People around the world are not stupid. With communications information on conditions in almost any country will be soon found out. Once people and governments abroad know that people are seeking refuge from a previously well off country they will get worse treatment because the political jurisdiction they just fled from will not really give a damn about their situation and will be left high and dry in my view.

The West and America has not really done a satisfactory job in PR lately along with the arrogance towards less developed countries.

Anything can happen like the guy said, but unless you have relatives or very, very, good friends abroad it could be more risky than remaining.

This is not like immigrants flowing from Europe to America ante-WWII. Those cultures and heritages and religions were very close or the same. ie. his Thailand example

Well, things should still be somewhat ok for a couple more years... I do agree with this sentiment. Once and if a war starts, then the meter will start running I think. ie. scarcity, regs., etc.

Yep, it comes down to safety in numbers.

To have that, you have to have honest education that respect the truth.

It's amazing how much money has been spent to lead the baby boomers to vote for candidates, support wars, etc. It was spent to destroy the idea of America. After all, I agree with Doug that America is only an idea. And a good one.

And that idea has been under attack since the first shot fired.

Though Doug proclaims to be an athiest, I think he is anti collectivist. His moral views certainly don't bother mine as a Christian.

To sum up, safety in numbers requires numbers of people that respect the truth, their personal responsibility, the idea. That can only happen when people are broken out of the matrix. Doug makes his points well to that extent.

Anyone know about the

Anyone know about the argentina community he's referring to or the Jeff Burwick location?

Galt's Gulch Chile

I'm partners with Jeff Berwick and the managing partner of Galt's Gulch Chile. It is located about an hour west of Santiago and an hour east of the Pacific Ocean, near wine country. It is an entire valley, surrounded by mountains, which are part of our property. We are creating a true like-minded community, away from statism on the globe we all share. We are pricing 1.25 acre lots starting at $30,000, with in-house financing on lots and homes. We are being flooded with inquiries from many walks of life, many income levels and many professions and trades who all want to be involved with a community that seeks to provide a fully self-sustaining community...and we haven't begun to market it yet. We have our own water supply, power supply, organic food (produce and fish) supply...plus, all the amenities of a high end community (golf, horse facilities, fitness, spas, etc), but for a wide range of income levels. Sign up for our free blog/newsletter and we'll send you information on it upon release, which should be this month.

Just enter your email address...

...and shoot us a note asking for info on Galt's Gulch Chile.

Good speech, making a lot of

Good speech, making a lot of sense!

Get Prepared!

Awesome talk. I agree with

Awesome talk. I agree with him mentioning Paul not making it to the Whitehouse. Even if he made it there, his personal philosophy would be against every damn arm of Government and the media would have everyone in a frenzy against him and ready to riot when the cancers were actually cut it, if that actually happens.

Southern Agrarian

And Ron Paul would still not give in

He would be able to educate the people like never before, and that is what he would do. It sounds like you would not want Ron Paul in the White House. You are on the wrong site. Paid membership a cover?

How about only Doug Casey

How about only Doug Casey speech ever - never heard of the guy.

Thanks Zero

Great discussion between two great freedom fighters!

Lot of talk below about

optimism and negativism, but, not realism!?! Casey's a realist. Has never been in politics. Doesn't have to sugar coat anything when history is on his side - or I should say - he's on history's side. He's very well read and traveled...loved the last few minutes.

I like what Reed3v called it below: seasoned.

If you want truth, Doug is your man. So is RP. The difference is RP is a politician and Doug is right about the forces RP would endure as President on day one. (anyone still thinking the President of the US is the most powerful man in the world needs a vacation, maybe permanently.)

I take Doug's assessment of a RP Presidency as realistic - but would go one step further; When Doug's and others predicted SHTF - collapse - Doug, who do you want as President? I want RP there to manage it.

I agree with Doug about the govt caused collapse, but we'll really need RP then, to manage it. When the collapse comes, Doug, (and as you predict, it will) who do you want in office to manage it!? RP, right?

He never talks about that.

"If you want something you've never had before, you have to do something you've never done before." Debra Medina

He's not a realist because what he's talking about isn't real.

It's not where we are at, and it's not definite.

He's clearly a pessimist. He only sees the worst possible outcome and believes there's no way to stop it.

He's even in denial that he's a pessimist. He wouldn't have to deny it, if it were not true.

Doug confused Discordianism with Thelema

"Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law" = Thelema, not Discordianism. Just sayin' :)

23 skidoo! Spectacles,

23 skidoo! Spectacles, testicles, wallet, watch. Congratulations, you are now an infallible pope!

I hate to dissagree

With his statement that their is no political hope for America. Their are so many people wide awake at the realization of what we have been ignoring for Decades. Small offices, Sheriffs, Governors, and Congressional seats do make a HUGEE difference in the direction of this nation. Thanks to Ron Paul, this movement has that potential to grab hold of these public seats and take back this nation.

I liked his speech but he sounded more like a Conspiracy Theorist than a Liberty Patriot.

His name is Edward Snowden

What is Capitalism?
