Have you been aerially sprayed with pesticides?

Have any of you had pesticides aerially sprayed on your home and property? My county/state claimed that it was an Emergency to control West Nile Virus mosquitoes. I don't want any chemicals sprayed on me against my will. It seems this has been happening lately around the U.S. I am curious about your experience. I wrote the details of my experience here.

Here in the

Tampa area, they do it once a month or more. A truck drives around with a fogger at about 9pm and sprays the area. When I hear the truck, I usually run and shut off the air conditioner, I wish they would stop. I'd rather have mosquito bites now than cancer later.

Not Me Personally

There was a pesticide spray here for Gypsy Moths, they had to announce it (or maybe it was announced publicly by good citizens who look out for others) in the weekly paper so I caught wind of it (excuse the pun).
So I took off a week to go up to the northern part of the state and stayed in a cabin for a week by the falls. I had everything at my place duct taped tight.

I have never seen a single gypsy moth despite the claim they were such a threat they had to rain chemical death on the populace to rid us of them, as if chemicals designed to kill won't be as bad as elusive moths. Not only that I am sure they will do this periodically, because this kind of solution is never a real solution, and even if it were a done-deal they would probably claim a "just in case" scenario to dump more chemicals on people.

So next time I will make a big stink over it. Probably should get to work on forming mass protests against it right now.

When I was a child

quite a long time ago since I was born in 1958, they used to drive through the town every year with a truck spraying clouds of DDT to kill mosquitos. We used to drive behind the truck on our bikes and breathe the stuff right in. Scores of kids used to follow the truck around. Nobody thought anything of it. Strange but true. I have talked about this with lots of people from my old neighborhood and everybody remembers doing this. Another thing that seems strange to me is a company called ChemLawn. Who wants a chemlawn? Wouldn't you rahter just have dandelions then chemicals?

My mom

About a month ago was telling me of all these stories and how her dad was always scared they would get hit by a car .... It's crazy to think of what they now put in the air and you know it's more then one thing

At least with chemlawn you have a choice

to use it or not. If somebody drives by with a truck and sprays you or flies over your property and drops the chemicals on you then you have no choice.
