Abolish Income Tax.. Effective Rhetoric???

Is this really something RP should be running on?? I'm all for getting rid of the IRS, but alot of people find this too far fetched to be believed and they write Ron Paul off immediately.

Maybe he should tone down the rhetoric about the income tax and the IRS. If he said, "I want to drastically reduce the size of the IRS" instead of eliminate it altogether people would be more receptive to the idea.

I mean Dr. Paul doesn't sound like your average politician, maybe people like to be talked down to.

Personally I can't stand any of the other Republicans and I hated George Bush before he ever got elected. I really couldn't believe we as a nation could be dooped into electing such and obvious puppet into the Whitehouse.

If Ron Paul doesn't make it, I'll probably vote for Obama..

Another candidate...

who shall remain unnamed saw fit to steal the issue and use the same rhetoric...so why not?

As long as he mentions at the same time that

revenue to the government would be the same that it was 10 years ago. Just saying he wants to eliminate the income tax and replace it with nothing is not enough. When most people hear that they think that means the government will not have income.

One of the problems Paul has in his communication is he often doesn't break things down for the layman or uninitiated.

You think pandering to the

You think pandering to the stupid will make him more palletable? Really? I think you need a better understanding of the platform because it really doesn't seem like you get it. Are you having a hard time explaining it to people?

"But, indeed, no private person has a right to complain, by suit in court, on the ground of a breach of the Constitution. The Constitution it is true, is a compact, but he is not a party to it."

People are stupid

Yeah I do think pandering to the stupid would be good for Ron Paul. Most people aren't really in to politics and most people don't care like we do.

People like being told what to believe and they like the cute little soundbites.

I think all of Ron Paul's ideas are really good and would be good for the people of this country if they weren't blinded by the bs they see on TV.

I'm not having trouble explaining his positions I just think a lot of people don't take abolishing the income tax seriously.

and people wonder why this country is screwed?

wishy washy wastes of space ....

enjoi your bubble!

I am not being wishy washy.

I am not being wishy washy. I support Ron Paul 100%, but if it gets down to November and he's not on the ballot I'll probably vote for the Democrat and I think Obama is going to win the nomination on that side. Big freaking deal.

right ...

wishy washy ....
a little intestinal fortitude would have you write in a vote for RP in whom you believe as opposed to doing whats expected by voting for the "choices" presented to you.

I don't believe that you can

I don't believe that you can write in a candidate in Illinois.

vote for OBAMA!?!?!??!?!?!

I sincerely believe that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies, and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale. tj

Give me liberty or give me death.

You'll vote for Obama if RP

You'll vote for Obama if RP doesn't make it? What the fuck are you talking about? Obama is part of the establishment. Do some more reading and learn the truth about your precious Obama. How can you go from a libertarian to a socialist? Un-fucking-believable.

I think Ron Paul is not the

I think Ron Paul is not the type to lie to try for better ratings. He stands firm on his beliefs, that's one reason why he's different than everyone running. Usually, his IRS idea is followed by cutting spending in foreign affairs. I think most who listen to him realize his ideas are logical and practical.
If he doesn't make it, I'll vote for him anyway. I can't vote for someone else, since no one else running is even close to where I'd like them to be on all issues. Obama has very little experience, a junior senator, who's been absent from his first term for this election! He's got some great ideas(rhetoric) and some ideas that spell big trouble. Hillary is no better. We don't need socialism and higher taxes!
The person I dislike the least would be Huckabee, but I don't like him either! Good news is that it looks like Thompson and Guilaini will be gone soon, maybe Romney too! Paul is the only one who could beat Hillary or Obama....
Again, I can only support Ron Paul, it'd be a waste of a vote on anyone but him.

You'll probably vote for WHO???

Why in the devil would anyone consider voting for the exact opposite of Ron Paul? What the hell kind of statement does that make? How about you pick up a paper ballot and write in Ron Paul?

Obama?!?!?

My God in heaven!

well if it gets around to

well if it gets around to november and it's obama or one of the other republicans i'd choose obama.

It's like the lesser of two evils.

Last election I couldn't make myself vote for Kerry or Bush so I voted for Michael Badnarik

It's beneficial only if...

As RP tries to say...one must add on it would return our budget to what we had 10 years ago...and 'we did fine then.' Most people remember 10 years ago how we lived.

I know that is the argument,

I know that is the argument, but I think most people don't believe that we could exist without an income tax. They've been indoctrinated and most people aren't really paying attention to what is really going on here.

Maybe he should just emphasize that he would like to TRY and eliminate the IRS.. like the other guy said he can't just up and do that. It takes and act of congress.

I've heard some radio ads where at the end Ron Paul says, "I'm Ron Paul I approve this ad and I would eliminate the income tax and replace it with nothing." Or something to that effect.. it turns some people off because they simply don't believe it's possible.

Don't Lie.

Because he really does want to get rid of the IRS, anything else is intellectually dishonest.

That's the point people don't understand: He WANTS to get rid of the IRS, but it will take an act of Congress and an Amendment to actually get rid of it.

I want to be a millionaire. Doesn't mean it's going to happen.

The money is here with two

The money is here with two options #1. You keep it, #2. you give it to the gov, you then are broke and need help, they send it to a program( costs money ) who rations it off back to you: you get some back.
60% of the income tax has gone straight to war... I do think that's a waste. 2 Trillion could have done amazing things for border security, infrastructure, economy...
I think the greatest thing Ron pushes ( setting an example here ), can make people tolerant of any other idea of his that they may not like. Personally, every word I've ever heard him say, is logical and brilliant, pure substance and clear plans. His idea that instead of spreading freedom with force, let's set a social, moral and economical example here, so the world would want to work with us, or get along at least.
Our gov is so wasteful, it's hard to believe. Example, We have programs/tax incentives to promote buying large vehicles, we have programs to promote buying hybrids(small vehicles) . We have laws to protect us from other laws!
I find Ron Pauls ideas more realistic than other candidates who seem to think our economy is ok, we can stay at war and lower taxes?? Yeah right...
