When Oh God when will the sheeple stop wanting to elect Hollywood's idea of a President?

Integrity means having to say things that people don't want to hear & especially to say things that the regime doesnt want to hear -RonPaul

My Mormon conspiracy theory

When you get a huge crowd of people anywhere in Utah chances are pretty good that most are LDS. Although Ron Paul has been doing this throughout the campaign, it does not surprise me that he would continue to do this in the heart of what should be Mitt Romney territory.

I've been saying for years that because of their reverence for the U.S. constitution and belief in the sacred nature of individual autonomy, Latter-Day Saints should be the strongest supporters of Ron Paul and constitutional conservative politics.

And I have also been pointing out that because of their relative affluence, work ethic, volunteerism, and willingness to proselytize in the face of adversity, etc.; they COULD be one of our movement's greatest asset.

In fact, I believe that it was no accident that the political establishment chose a "Mormon" as their GOP presidential candidate this year. (It may have even been one reason for keeping Huntsman in the race to further distract and divide their attention.)

I believe that the insiders wanted to short circuit any possibility of Ron Paul recruiting large numbers of LDS into the liberty movement.

Without a Mitt Romney at the head of the pack, Ron Paul would have done much better (and possibly have even won) in Iowa and/or New Hampshire. But in Nevada especially, without a Mormon opponent, Ron Paul would have won in a landslide.

As a Mormon myself, a current resident of Iowa, and a former resident of Nevada; I KNOW that the insiders were deathly afraid of exactly this scenario.

What do you think?
I might just start another thread about this.

The Virtual Conspiracy

Interesting, but not convinced.

The PTB would have raised another neo con (think Santorum) who would have appealed to the blinded, warlike Mormons. Collectivism is so mingled with Scripture that even the very elect are confused. And don't forget, the PTB's ace card was election fraud. RP surely did MUCH better in NV but his numbers just barely equaled results from four years ago. Pure fraud, don't you think?

I'm Mormon too. There's just a handful of "awakened" LDS in my ward, and I mean less than five. Despite that the Book of Mormon warns of the kingmen and Gadianton robbers taking over our government and destroying the Liberty of the people in all nations, most Mormons are dumbed down by the MSM like everybody else.

They're in a trance and think because Mitt was a stake president, that he's a good guy, forgetting that Jesus Himself called Judas to be an apostle.

I'm sad to say that I think deception on political matters is widespread in the Church. A "great division" along the same lines of Freemen vs. Kingmen will surely come.

THEN will the Lord make use of the patriots in the Church who are after the order of Ezra Taft Benson. So prepare yourself for that day.

Until then, the wheat and tares grow together in the Church.

You make good points.

My rosy scenario about primary/caucus results are especially speculative.
The Conspiracy prefers to avoid obvious manipulation. They only interfere when necessary and then in the most subtle or covert manner available to them.

For example, primary results with electronic voting machines are easier to fix. Caucuses with a whole bunch of amateurs doing messy things like counting their ballots out loud in public are a whole lot harder to control without getting caught. Therefore the Conspiracy wants to get rid of caucuses. Logical.

If Their methods during THIS election were not subtle it was because WE forced the issue, by making Ron Paul a credible threat.

Yes, having a MINO (Mormon In Name Only) like Romney for a candidate was not necessary. They could have and probably would have nominated a Santorum, Perry, etc. Even more likely, however, one of their other "boys" like Huckabee or Christie would have been "inspired" to throw his hat into the ring.

BUT none of them would have had the unique appeal (for Mormons) of a Romney. I'm not saying that they are all ripe for a libertarian harvest. Yes, they are all brainwashed like the rest of the Fox News crowd. But the Fox News crowd does not have the ghost of an Ezra Taft Benson glowering over their shoulders.

I Think You Might Be Right

....and, of course, there are "political" powers at the top of the Mormon church like there are powers at the top of just about organization, religious or not, who do not necessarily represent all of the people who make up those organizations.

My daughter-in-law is Mormon and lives in Salt Lake City. She has never liked Romney, but likes Ron Paul very much as the Constitution and family values resonate with Mormons.

Without Romney in the race, I agree that RP would have been the Mormon candidate. How clever these political strategists are! Thanks for your post.

Thank you for your comment.

I would add that I believe that "powers at the top of the Mormon church", our apostles and presidents, are and have been righteous men who would never personally condone the erosion of constitutional government in America. To the degree that they have ever spoken directly about political issues , they have consistently shown a reverence for the constitution unmatched by any other comparable religious body.

In what other church would one of its highest authorities have given a speech such as this?

Thank You, Space

...for the speech! In the leadership of "organized religions" there are many who have fallen to greed and avarice. Perhaps, as you say, the Mormon Church is different.

I meant no criticism...I admire family values of those in the Mormon Church and respect people of all faiths. Back when I was active on the DP, I wrote many "in defense of" posts whenever the Mormon (or any other faith) came under attack. Peace.

This makes me happy.

We may have lost the battle but we are winning the war. I'd like to see Romney or Obama draw crowds like that. Ron Paul is winning the hearts of the young people which is a long term strategy for victory!

Watching the crowds show up and cheer still gives me goosebumps

Watching those crowds show up and cheer still gives me goosebumps.

Ron Paul 'IS' history. Many many years from now, history will record him as the father of the great revolution. Unfortunately, probably some massive collapse will have to occur first.

90% of paul's supporters don't come to dailypaul

and the trolls here don't represent their views

you might want to try door to door instead, legalizeliberty. you are turning into nothing but an opposition study these days

However, jtstellar

Everyone who has posted below (so far as things tend to change) is on my "good list" and I thank them for posting. We will overcome. Yeah, for the not silent 10%. Dr. Paul is not and never has been "silent."

Sure would be nice....

If he had the energy to keep doing these across the country. Education is key to any real change. I could invite friends to these things.

Actually that would cost money.

I feel you but...We all keep saying that elections shouldn't be about the money, but then we turn around and demand of our candidates things that cost money. Like a cross-country tour. If people can't do so much as hop on the internet to see whose running and take a peek at their record, then they shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Good point.

Politicians are invited to speaking engagements. I wonder how much they have to pay and how much the inviting party pays. Does some of his travel cost get covered? Is the school auditorium free? That is certainly a cause I would be happy to donate to. I donate to Campaign for Liberty and isn't Dr. Paul back to being it's head?

Thanks for posting!

I never get tired of seeing this! I wish he would do a European tour.

I was surprised he came to Utah (the biggest pro-Romney state)

...but I was not disappointed. It was absolutely great to be there and see him in person and feel the excitement first hand! I sat very close to the front. In fact look, here's a photo I shot today. You can see how close I was:

Wow, he looks great,

and he sounds better than ever.

Where's he get that tan?

Now it's about war. If Romney and the neocons are going to the white house, what barriers do they have to unilateral warfare at home or abroad? We better start raising holy hell in the name of peace and the rule of law, or we'll have neither.
