Rand Paul goes above and beyond the call of duty for Todd Akin

http://www.economicpolicyjournal.com/2012/10/rand-paul-goes-...

Rand Paul is going beyond the mere endorsement that Gingrich, Santorum and Huckabee have given Todd Akin. He is running ads supporting Akin.

Rand is running a statewide television ad in Missouri critical of Akin's senate opponent Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill for her votes on foreign aid to countries that have seen violent demonstrations critical of the United States.

Who is Todd Akin? He appears to be an evangelical war hawk, who has no hardcore principles when it comes to support of free markets.

The ads in Missouri do not

The ads in Missouri do not mention Akin, they are anti-McCaskil. This means the ads are pro-Libertarian Party Missouri senate candidate.

Also, Akin & the LP candidate opposes obamacare and McCaskil supports it.

Thomas Jefferson 1796, 1800, 1804; James Madison 1808, 1812; Ron Paul 1988, 2008, 2012; Rand Paul 2016.

I'm convinced Rand Wants to

I'm convinced Rand Wants to overturn Obama care so bad he's willing to do all these whoredoms. Endorse Romney, run ads for war mongers Etc. Obama care has become rands singular focus, That's the only way I can explain his behavior. Problem is I don't think Romney would repeal Obama care even if he got a bill plopped right on his desk.

Rand's also

putting in the Foreign Aid issue, a win with Akin build the Liberty Friendly coalition.

Aiken Liberty Friendly?

I don't know anything about Aiken, but if I understood you correctly, you're saying Aiken is "Liberty Friendly". But he's also according to another poster in this thread a "War Hawk"?

How can somebody be both a war hawk and liberty friendly? Being a war monger is just about as far away from promoting liberty as I can imagine.

Am I missing something?

What I don't think people

What I don't think people realize that Rove and other GOP establishment made a concerted effort to try and force Akin to step aside and let the guy Rove wanted to run in his place. Rand Paul is going to need a very strong evangelical base to challenge Romney in 2016. There is a much bigger plan in place than just endorsing people Rand likes or agrees with. He is playing the game without giving up on his beliefs and ideals.

Michael Nystrom's picture

He is never going to challenge Romney

Wake up. He'll wait his turn.

Absolutely right on Michael! If Romney wins, no Republican

will challenge him in 2016. We'll all have to wait until 2020 to try again, unless we do a third party run.

The Winds of Change!

unless he pulls a Reagan, Michael

who challenged Ford in 1976, even though he didn't win, it set up his base for 1980.

I would say it all depends on what Romney does in his first 4 years, but first things first Romney still has to beat Obama. Anything can happen.

The days of challenging the incombant are over

and romney has already beaten obama. This one is over and in the books. here are the results:

Mitt Romney:
Goldman Sachs $891,140
Bank of America $668,139
JPMorgan Chase & Co $663,219
Morgan Stanley $649,847

Citigroup Inc $418,263
Wells Fargo $414,750
Barclays $403,800
Kirkland & Ellis $393,667
Deloitte LLP $355,390
HIG Capital $338,000

Obama:
University of California $706,931
Microsoft Corp $544,445
Google Inc $526,009
Harvard University $433,860
US Government $389,100
Deloitte LLP $369,401

Akin had alot of the Ron Paul support at the MO State Convention

He is not a Ron Paul BUT has voted with Ron Paul on most fiscal issues and at his speech at the GOP State Convention basically said its time for the FED to go.

Huge note: The National Republican Committee and the Senatorial Committee are withholding money from him, the entire establishment is against him because he would not quit and had over his spot to some political hack.

Funny thing is he is now in a dead heat with Claire McCaskill the deciding vote on Obamacare.

Some of the political establishment see the writing on the wall and have been coming back into the fold like Senator Roy Blunt - ultimate insider sellout.

Please help kick some establishment ass and of course dump she-Obama (McCaskill) and donate
to Akin.

Akin is not perfect but...

he did vote against TARP and the bailouts and has a good record on fiscal issues. I voted for Brunner because he was supposedly secretly supporting Ron. He never came out and endorsed him though and he had no record to judge whether he would match his record. I was a delegate but I am voting straight LP except for the Senate. And yes, I am we'll aware of Akins abominable vote on NDAA. But he is pretty good on the fiscal issues and WAY better than Claire unlike Romney vs Obama.

“Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people a

no thanks.

Akin is not for me. His whole abortion comment should have ended his career in politics. It would be best not to be associated with him.
