A North Eastern Union IdeaSubmitted by fonzdrew on Fri, 10/19/2012 - 02:26
I was watching Ron Paul’s latest speech in Utah, and I thought to myself, “This man will always be my president”. Then I thought what if someone like him could be our president, someone other than what we have been given? This got me thinking about the Lakota Republic in the Northern part of the country, which seceded from the United States, and I wondered why the liberty movement couldn’t do the same thing. These are scary times we live in, and having a safe haven of liberty would be incredible. These thoughts got me thinking of an idea that I wanted to share here on the Daily Paul, which is this: what if over the next 4 to 8 years we work together, as a liberty movement, to get involved in politics on a more deeper level, and run as many people as possible for political positions on a local level, as well as higher levels, such as Governor, Senate and Representative. Most of New England is already very liberty minded, so I thought, why not try to focus on New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Connecticut, and maybe even Rhode Island and Massachusetts (those will be tougher). Once we have control of those States politically, then we secede from the rest of the country, and start a North Eastern Union. I know this seems like a dream, but some dreams come true, and secession has happened before, so why not again? What do you think? I would love to hear ideas and what some of you think of this.
