Threat of Cohesion Separation in the Ron Paul Movement

I have only been registered at the Daily Paul for three years, but I have been coming here consistently for nearly five. I have bared witness to the ups and downs of the Revolution, from the debates and fund-raisers to the elections and blackouts, with much anticipation and deep frustration and can say this movement is in a real threat of stalling...or worse. Possibly Co-opted in a fashion that none can currently fathom. At least, according to a lot of the comments and posts that are constantly submitted to this site of late.

I can still remember 2007 when the hated George Jr. was in his last year in office. We were still in the la la land of Keynesian economics where jobs were good and plenty, the masses were unaware of the Ponzi schemes pervasive in our "free market" and the electorate were voting in the exact same way for the exact same things as before, but the Internet was starting to direct the national conscience. Ron Paul, reluctant to run, was unknown to most of you and I can say with confidence a majority of you, then, didn't truly understand the situation we are all in now. Voter or not.

My Eyes Opened in August of 2007 with an interesting movie that spelled out Similar Religions, the Lies of 9/11 and a mere glimpse of our altered economic history. Though, I knew bits and pieces of our history were wrong and that the two-party system was a fallacy, I hadn't found the edges of the puzzle to see where the Frame ends. That has been the point of the last 4 years. Step Back, Find the edges and fill in the gaps. Ron Paul did that for me. I can also say for certain that, because you are reading this, he did that for you as well. With his unwavering consistency, Ron Paul has become the source that is worthy of a primer to lay the truth upon. A truth that can only lead to more truths and more sources and on and on and on, leading us to right here, right now.

Today, The Great Awakening is commencing and we poor souls are just one of many first generation seeds to be planted in this world at the earliest stages of the 21st century. Are we to continue to grow and our relevance to flourish? Thanks to Ron Paul and others, we "get" what is about to happen to us. We know it means nothing who wins the Presidential election of Two Thousand and Twelve. Be it Obama or Romney or even Santa Claus himself, no one can stop the inevitable shutdown. Our goal was not to win the election. Our goal, as it has always been, is to point the camera and conversation towards the forces that are trying to control our destinies and get people to move in one direction to stop them. What was it they wrote over 200 years ago? Don't Tread On Me?

They are treading more and more as we get bigger and bigger. But likewise the movement is bringing in more and more distorted views and objectives, deluding the Purpose and Spirit of Revolution. Alas! If only we had a Thomas Paine of our time! But that's not possible in this digital world and short attention spans, as we have become too fickle on what a true patriot is in a land of dictators.

He who stands with us now, we will stand with them and together we shall never kneel!!!

Is it really that difficult?

Put aside our petty per-conceived notions and look at the bigger puzzle. So many good actions could have been taken in this short time after the Convention to continue to have influence. More Protesting, more organizing should have happened, absent of the campaign and certainly that of the Republican Party. Yet, we were not prepared for what we all knew was going to happen at the end of August. We all knew the statues quo was going to try and stop us if we got close to the thrown, but no plan B. Big Surprise. Half of you can't accept a candidate that is on all but two ballots this year (giving our group a full scale voting block in the general) and is not a (R)ascel or a (D)evil's Advocate.

Influence is measured not on how much you gain, but on how long you last. Increase the later and you will achieve the former. If less than all can't focus on one, just one alternative in this bogus election to tip the scale the Powers That Be are holding, history will not record anything of significance about our movement. We will pass into mediocrity, like Goldwater, and our opposition will attract someone else to that label and distract the masses to vote for them, like Regan, just so our children or their children's children can do this dance all over again!

They have us right where they want us.

Divided and Conquered.

But it doesn't have to be this way. It doesn't have to be about the lesser of two (or even the lesser of three) evils. It’s about f#@king with the status quo! It’s about forcing them to take illegitimate action OUT IN THE OPEN rather then behind close doors. Evil lurks in the shadows so the victim knows not who is feeding on their souls. Force them out of their smoke filled rooms and worthless paper vaults! Support ONE Independent Candidate en mass and Stop Obama AND Romney from securing the Presidency on November 6th and we will have the high ground in sight for the first time since Andrew Jackson! No waiting 4 or 8 more years! The Peach is Plump for the Picking.

Wake up! And Declare Your Independence! Don't sit on your hands now just because this was not how it was suppose to end up in your mind. It becomes a habit and incidentally you will be slow to pick-up arms if or when it comes time.

Just vote! And know (en mass) your vote counts. It will force them to lie in the Open!

But know, also, write-ins rarely change history on the national level as they are never counted. I.M.O., the only states we, as a movement, should be writing anyone in is Maine and California (for Ron Paul). Everywhere else, decide on ONE candidate that is ACTUALLY PRINTED on your states ballot and everyone in your state Vote for THAT ONE candidate and then head over to your seat of government and WATCH them count it, while you still have that right!

Here is a Great List that Will Help.

Pass it along and figure it out!
Get over the last battles we lost and cross YOUR own Delaware River.

RP is my moral compass in the law!

he will always be true!

he never compromised even, at the end of his career when it would have been so easy to compromise...

others did and still do, compromise, in a new way

do they need to? who is to say. only those in those shoes can say...but i would suggest that the job, taken at the bequest of the people, for the people, would require NO COMPROMISE on the people's constitution

that is the representation the people expect!

The greatest Liberty movement ever established

Was the original Liberty movement...the Christian faith. It was a gigantic breath of fresh air to the oppressed peoples of the ancient world who breathed it in and were changed forever.

The Truth set them free and they were willing to die rather than surrender their new found faith for as the apostle Peter said when asked by Jesus why he and the other twelve disciples remained after all the others had gone: "Where shall we go Lord, you have the words of eternal Life?"

Since the beginning the Christian Church has fragmented into a thousand pieces and the Life has departed from her. She no longer hews to the Truth and has lost her Way. Nevertheless God is never left without a witness to Himself in the world and there are still many hundreds of thousands of individual believers scattered all over the world who continue to worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth.

These believers are the only ones who are carrying out the purposes of the Father for humanity, each one personally bearing his or her cross daily working out their own salvation and the salvation of mankind. It is they who are the true Liberty movement because they are the only ones who are in union with the will of the Father and on whose behalf the Father will show Himself strong in the days and years to come.

There is indeed a change coming of unprecedented magnitude and all of these events in the world today, the Great Awakening alluded to in the OP are simply physical foreshadowings of the real Great Awakening that is on its way. As the Lord Jesus Christ said, before He was crucified, rose again and ascended into Heaven whence He had come to set us free, "when these things begin to happen, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” (Luke 21:28)

This is truly Good News and not something to be apprehensive about. The Kingdom of God is righteousness, joy and peace in the Holy Spirit. When the sons of God are revealed from Heaven to the Creation their power, glory and majesty will overwhelm all the opposition of evil men and evil spirits. The judgements of God will be seen in the Earth and the people will learn righteousness. This is goodness and love writ large and is something never before seen in the history of the human race. Then all humanity and the Creation itself will be set free at last from its bondage to sin, corruption and death.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

Agreed.

He's the ultimate liberator. Once you see and understand, you'll know why Jesus could boast about his nets overflowing with the souls of men, and why others would drop what they were doing to follow him.

There's not really anything these self worshiping crooks can do to stop us. They've already lost; and they know it.

F#@$ing with the status quo just isn't good enough

It never was.

Most people here love Ron, but fail to see why he is able to talk freely.

He developed incredible credentials, a professional career, his health, his finances, his family, his faith BEFORE getting into politics. Thus he could avoid the trappings of lesser men.

He is a very powerful man because he can afford to own his mind.

The vast vast majority of his followers did nothing but throw money and votes behind Paul...and did a lots of impotent arguing.

When what we should have focused on was becoming better people...wealthier, healthier, better families, better careers, etc...empower ourselves.

But almost none did this, so we wait for Ron or rand to run again...and actually expect things to be different.

Ron Paul preached his best sermon, but

unfortunately, the population has grown deaf from the last 20 years of media bias and government manipulation, all made possible by the phony money creation they've masterminded. I imagine even Ron Paul has thrown up his hands in frustration. He has certainly gone very quiet. He gave it his best, time after time, in the face of condescending, ridiculing media and peers, and ignorant people who favor government run everything. Shouted down, laughed at, stepped on, Ron Paul spoke consistently about our perils as a nation. I can only fault his lame campaign staff who was woefully prepared for the task at hand.

What did you expect.?

Ron Paul is out of it now. Even this website designed for the purpose of supporting him is now the daily p au l. We tried for the big one and lost so now it is reverting to every man for himself. It is only natural especially since there is no one of the same integrity on the political scene who can carry on as a focal point.

I see it the opposite, but wish you the best on your journey

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

Disagree

You can say whatever you want, but I've never seen more liberty minded people, and I don't mean just at the daily paul. We're kicking ass in all the ways that matter. This has to be from the bottom up or it's a total waste of time.

Of course, there are going to be people that come here and try to run us down, to divide us, but the core message needs to be defended, and if it can't be defended here, it can't be anywhere.

I have no qualms about fighting with Anarchists and Atheists who run people down. If that's what means we're "divided", then so be it. For every guy screaming you're a statist and a sheep, we gain 10 who know better.

We Libertarians may be the only people they'll listen to, and they're standing next to us with a black flag screaming "I'm an enemy of the state", "you're all a bunch of sheep". If somebody doesn't "fight" them, they'll take down any chance the liberty movement had.

Some will call that divided, I call that unifying behind what matters.

Since C4L has Ron Paul as honorary chair - maybe its time

for RP supporters use it as the vehicle to keep cohesion and the sharing ideas and information. Maybe it could be modified to have discusion forums like here at the DP (if not already so). Minus the conspiracy theorists - we can leave this DP thing for them (along with the athiests and anarchists - IMO).

Well Said Sir

Finding consensus in Libertarian minded people is like herding cats. It can't be done. It's very sad to see our movement fading but alas... it was fun while it lasted.

Yep, it's separating so badly

Yep, it's separating so badly that over 4,200 Paulistas showed up to a speech in Utah TWO MONTHS AFTER the RNC.

Write-in Ron Paul or bust.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

I still think the write in thing is a bust

I congratulate those who got Ron Paul the qualification in CA, it gives me an appreication for grassroots doing what we can not.. or is that astroturf?

It's like a sign of apathy though.. that one didn't get the message as much as they admired the man.

Hi Granger! I hope that you have a wonderful day today :-)

'Extincto nomine Christianorum'

Diocletian raises a column with this inscription.

p.s. does anyone know what October 27-28 has in significance?

If so you should remind your Ministers, Pastors, Preachers, Priests, Deacons, etc. :P

I very much doubt they will know, which is of no great surprise imo.

Cheers,

You're looking for Thomas Paine???

Hiya!

Well, here's what "TommiePaine" has to say --

The idea that we ALL have to do this or that is B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T.

Other than the trolls around here, we are all here because we cherish LIBERTY -- and we know that government is the opposite of liberty.

And THAT, my friend, is our common ground.

We do not need a "leader." Ross Perot was a leader, until they threatened to kill his daughter (look up what he said about why he dropped out, never to be heard from again).

None of us knows what threats were made towards Ron or if any were. But that is irrelevant.

We ALL believe in liberty. We do NOT need "leaders" to tell us what to do or think. We do NOT all need to move in one direction -- in fact, that is dangerous, and I submit that it is part of why you are seeing the fractionation.

The great thing about understanding liberty is that once you "get it," you will never go back. The MAIN thing we need is a cultural shift in understanding what the truth is.

Some of us are anarcho-capitalists. Are they right? YES.

Some of us are minarchists. Are they right? YES.

Some of us are "Blue Republicans." Are they right? YES.

Some of us will vote for Gary Johnson. Are they right? YES.

Some of us will write in Ron Paul. Are they right? YES.

Some of us will refuse to vote. Are they right? YES.

Liberty is what it is all about. Once 10-15% of the population really "gets it," it is all over for the statists.

Each of us who does "get it" should choose our own way of pushing the liberty agenda forward.

We all helped Ron Paul build a huge base of freedom lovers

over these past six years. Many of us were in this movement long before we ever heard of Ron Paul.

We gave tens of millions of dollars to his campaign to fight for our freedoms and liberties that have been greatly eroded. This time around we handed him a primary race, where he had only one candidate left in the race, Mitt Romney. That was months before Tampa.

Instead of taking on Romney head to head, he chose NOT too, because of Romney's threats to embarrass him (see Doug Weed's interview on this subject). He literally allowed Romney to steal the nomination from under us, without so much as firing a shot at him.

It is important to understand that this movement has never been about Ron Paul, it’s always been about our loss of freedoms and liberty. Although I painfully realize that many here never saw it this way.

Now that the GOP nomination is over, this huge base we all helped build with a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, is disintegrating before our very eyes. We should all be asking WHY? For me, the answer to this question is quite simple; the leader of this movement will NOT stand TALL, and give any form of concrete direction as how to proceed from here.

Any movement without great leadership will always splinter, and splinter we have.

Crucify me if you will, but I hold Ron Paul totally responsible for what has happened here. I now believe Rand Paul left his father’s campaign early out the same frustration.

Ron Paul is a great teacher, but he does not have the set of Balls’ to take on a real fight. I will NOT go through this again with him. For me I want a man with real guts to fight.

The Winds of Change!

I share your frustration

But I think there's more to RP's standing down than just the character assassination threat. They already did all they could to smear RP, I doubt there was anything left they could've used against him. He's the patriarch of a very large family that he loves and cherishes. Put yourself in his shoes and think about it. We're not going to get where we want to go by finding a great leader...great leaders are too easy to target and eliminate. I think it's time to forget the presidential election idiocy and think outside the box, perhaps on the state nullification and jury nullification movements. It's not as easy for TPTB to undermine activism in these areas, and we could make a huge difference there.

Just don't vote!

It is the source of their power. I do not consent to being governed.

Don't take this as adversarial... just a different perspective

Not voting does not mean you do not consent. In my experience, not voting is more a sign of people who don't care enough to take the time to inform themselves about the candidates and take the time to go to the polls. My parents are examples. That and those who are resigned to their fates. And there are 10's of millions of them.

If you don't vote you will still be governed. Regulations will still be made that impair your liberty or prosperity, or both. You'll still be forced to pay taxes. You'll still be required to obey the laws of the land or risk punishment. You'll still have live and work amongst all the others who are similarly governed.

If you don't want to be governed, then not voting is about the least effective thing you can do to make that happen. A lack of vote is the same as giving in... giving up... admitting that you have no control and accepting your destiny however it may fall based on whatever TPTB decide to do.

If you want changes to the gov't leadership, want a reformed gov't, want an entirely different kind of gov't, want no gov't... there are things people can do to make that happen. But not voting isn't even in the top 10 I think.

Our family's journey from the Rocket City to the Redoubt: www.suburbiatosimplicity.com

Correction

The Source of their power hinges on us forgetting we have any. Your consent to being governed is not conditioned on whether or not you vote. If it is, it is only through you lack of participation is consent to this government. Voting is a method, a tool extending your power of influence and when utilized en mass, demonstrates the cohesion any source of power exerts. It will force them to cheat on a level that they can not hide. The fire of this revolution will be fueled by the realization of the system breaking down. The Apocalypse. Your vote can facilitate that. Do what you think will set you free. But don't forget the rest of us trying to hit them where it hurts.

Yes, people do have a right to complain.

As someone else pointed out on your ~it's immoral and unethical to write in Ron Paul's name~ thread, you might want to rethink your chosen screen name.

yeah

but if your complaining and not doing the most of what you can to change it, sounds pretty childish really.
