Ron Paul supporters turn out in droves for speech at UVU w/ Video

Though he is no longer in the race, thousands turned out for Ron Paul's appearance at Utah Valley University Thursday.

The Texas congressman and former Republican presidential candidate's "revolution" continues for droves who turned out to hear him give his 45 minute speech at the school. The speech, which he delivered without notes, ranged in issues from free markers, the deficit, welfare, poverty and limited government.

"Once you endorse the principle of welfarism, guess what? The poor get poorer, and the rich get richer," he said. "It's a totally failed system. And we can't be intimidated by those that argue, 'If you don't support the welfare system, you're not a humanitarian.'"

Some of the loudest applause from the audience came from the portion of Paul's remarks focused on foreign policy, particularly comments that he was opposed to pre-emptive war and that U.S. forces should be immediately removed from Afghanistan.

Audience members also cheered during Paul's more traditionally liberal arguments. He talked at length about individual liberty as it pertains to intellectual and religious freedom, adding that the same concepts should be applied to what people eat and drink or how they choose to live their lives.

Thanks for posting!

Always love to hear from Dr. Paul and I am so glad to see him out there still trying to educate the masses. It's not too early to start campaigning for 2016....I don't care how old he is, if he's running, I'll support him! :)

Great news

to see Dr.P delivering his message.

Thanks for posting

Oops, double post

President Dr Ron Paul! It

President Dr Ron Paul!

It took a doctor to take all that shit they've thrown. Too bad nobody else was willing to go that far.

The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good things is my religion. Thomas Paine, Godfather of the American Revolution

That was awesome

thanks for the vid, keep up the great work!!!!

Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must. like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.-Thomas Paine

The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!

There Was A Time

...when the DP up-voted any positive Ron Paul article that appeared in the media. We began to realize that "local" media still provided inroads. We wrote the editors and reporters. We thanked them for their coverage and let them see our numbers.

Perhaps now there is even more opportunity and reason to do that. In doing so, we are showing our support of unbiased media and the fundamentals that Dr. Paul continues to speak out for. We are voting for freedom and showing our strength.

Seems to me that all factions...write-in Dr. Paul, don't vote in protest, vote for major party in hopes of changing it from with-in, vote for a third party candidate, vote for others at the local and national level who support these fundamental truths, etc....would profit from supporting local media that covers RIGHT NOW a Ron Paul event (even after or especially after) he no longer is running? He is still putting all his energy and heart into waking people up and spreading the message. Thousands are still listening and showing up.

Thank you, again, Celeste.

Thanks for posting. I hope to be that healthy and happy and smart when I'm his age!
