A 12-year-old girl is being hailed a hero for shooting a home intruder after she hid with a gun in the closet.
Kendra St Clair, from Oklahoma, was home alone when she heard someone break in.

She called her mother and asked what she should do, and her terrified mom told her to get the gun and hide in the closet and stay there until she thought the coast was clear.

Very glad this has a happy ending...

however it's sad that the girl will forever have those memories etched into her brain.
I only wish the girl knew about the "double-tap". You NEVER shoot someone once. As it is, we'll be paying for this scum's rent for many years.
In the end, good for her...and sound advice from her Mom!!!

Hear, hear!!

I was just thinking the same thing. Not to mention the bastard might somehow get off and roam the streets again! Put a few in the chest and one or two in the head for good measure.

Either way: hurray for the little girl!! Way to defend yourself!!

The six shooter became known as "The Old Equalizer" because in the lawless west it made the woman equal to the man....

This won't make national news

And romney would still try to outlaw that gun if it holds more than one bullet.

And after that you'll find liberals STILL willing to challenge the latter.

Take that, home intruder.

Guns can.

Sweet! New movie for me to watch!

Totally putting that on my To Do list! :-D

That burgler won't have any respect in prison

I can hear it now, "whatcha in for"? When the hardcore cons find out he was shot by a 12 years old girl, from a closet! The PDB won't live it down, he'll spend the next 20 years being ridiculed. LOL

The only bad thing is the

The only bad thing is the bullet didnt kill him. Of course, his life might have been different if he had known there was someone at home with a gun. He probably would have tried to be productive instead of a criminal; at least I hope.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

If he'd have known there was someone at home with a gun...

...I'm thinking he prolly would have just picked a different house.

He could've chosen to be productive to begin with, rather than choosing to break into homes.

Deplorable comment.

The object is not to kill in self defense. The object is to keep the offender from harming you.

That's a negative, Ghostrider.

You want to shoot to wound, be my guest and good luck to you. If I'm ever in a situation like that I'm gonna empty the mag in the chest and head, then reload in case he's got friends.

If you ever pull a gun on someone then either you're already wrong or you're morally justified in killing that person. Don't f*ck it up.

A wounded animal...

A wounded animal is 1000 times more dangerous than an dead one. You talk like you are someone that has never owned, shot or been trained in the use of a firearm. You would be surprised how many people on drugs or alcohol that do not even know they had been shot till much later.
Maybe you have watched too many movies and some how think that someone will drop with the first shot. My philosophy is "empty the magazine", bullets are cheap and my life is priceless. And I intend on holding on to it as long a possible.

If you are a 12 year old girl

against a man, you shoot to kill. No two ways about it, where I come from. My mother (she could hit small moving objects, like a thrown can, with a rifle) always said that if any of her children were ever in danger she would shoot high, not low.

and

How do you suppose is the most effective way to stop an attack?

If you are shooting to wound, you are endangering yourself and others.
