NH is ALL paper so a recount checks the machines.

The costs for the hand counts must be paid, in full, and up front, according to Gardner's interpretation of the state recount statute, according to letters given to the candidates today. (The full letter to Howard is at the end of this article.) Both a Kucinich representative, and Howard himself, questioned the Secretary of State's demand for full payment up front during conversations we had with them Monday evening. Kucinich must deliver a check for $69,600 by Tuesday afternoon. Howard is being charged a total $57,600. Each, at a cost of 24 cents per ballot.

That is only true of "paperless" ballots

and I believe that NH uses machine counters. There will still be paper ballots.

Recount

The democrats will get a recount and there is more reason to suspect their tally than the GOP's. Good for Kucinich.

The GOP recount means nothing, we are were we are going into Michigan, SC and Nevada. Let's use this forum to focus on reality and forget NH. Write a letter to the GOP, write a letter to your governor...but stop whining here.

Here we focus on getting Ron Paul elected with what we have, and the reality is we have diebold machines and bias media. So how do we use that to our advantage.

Maybe, Ron Paul is the only one interested in making the electoral system more transparent, accessible and equal for all. Ron Paul is going to do that with the entire government, transparency and accountability to the people, rather than secrecy and spying on the people.

EXAMINATION OF MACHINES

I read that a recount is meaningless unless the electronic machines are examined by court order to determine if they were fixed. A simple recount will only give the same result unless this is done. I have not heard word one about this. What gives?

Fish-Head

is a troll and trying to keep people here from getting a recount. There are paper ballots that were slid into the machine, so a recount is very important. In other states it may not be, so it is critical to do it in NH....and time is running out! Donate NOW.

Let's get this done

Less the 15k to go and only a few hours to do it. Do not assume that they will uncover nothing. There's a good chance they will and all our efforts are for nothing without proper vote count......and America is over! It's not worth a few dollars to you to find out? Crazy! Kucinich has nothing to do with a Republcan recount. Everyone needs to send 20 bucks right now. They are hoping we don't get the money.

STOP answering here! Last

STOP answering here! Last news was KUCINICH is going for recount!!

He can only recount

He can only recount democrats...not Ron Votes.

You

Need to re-read the article...Kucinich can not have a recount for the Republicans. Just because the other fella has put down a deposit doesn't mean he's going to pay, and that is why if people want the recount they need the money.

STOP...read this!!

CONCORD, N.H. - New Hampshire’s Secretary of State’s office has given REPUBLICAN Albert Howard and DEMOCRAT Dennis Kucinich estimated costs to re-count their partys’ presidential primaries last week.........................Each candidate has put down refundable $2,000 deposits. There was no word from either campaign Monday on whether they will pay the balance before the deadline of 3 p.m. Tuesday, but "there is every indication that they plan to,".........

Look up recent news articles....don't be uninformed.

Where Does the Money Go?

Where does the money go if they don't raise enough? Refunds? Are they keeping it?

These are the types of things that need to be covered in order for people to donate.

fixed meanes fixed

The precients were asking for ballots all day long, Do you not think they covered the collective butts with those that would mak hand ballots useless . The diebolt accounts are all ready useless . What do you think you will find . Donate the money to Ron

Perhaps not a very good idea....

This may get people discouraged unless the read inside. Risky approach!!!
