Quick Question for the DP regarding Mail-In Ballots

I'm sure it doesn't really matter how voting gets done.

But my question is regarding Mail-in Ballots vs. Early Voting vs. Election Day voting.

I was originally planning on going in on election day and casting my vote, but giving it some thought I think I would rather not deal with the Election Day madhouse.

I've always gone in to vote at my polling station and I am considering requesting a Mail-in Ballot before the deadline on 10/30/2012.

My question is mainly on the mail-in ballot itself... How do I know that my ballot will make it to where it needs to go after sending it in. Would it be better just to do early voting so that I know my vote is in with the fray? Does it matter?

Bump. I don't expect much, since it's the middle of the night, but such is the life of the overnight worker, lol.
