Ron paul supporters show up

thanks to the link in the original post

Nearly deserted in West Bloomfield

THE TIME: 9:01 a.m.
THE PLACE: Precinct 2 in West Bloomfield at Walnut Creek Middle School
THE SCENE: Nearly deserted. 23 people had voted by 9 a.m. and the polls were empty when I got there. Outside, a school employee on a riding lawn mower was plowing the sidewalk of about 4 inches of snow while a woman carried at 2-foot by 3-foot Ron Paul for President sign nearby. An exit pollster sat just inside the door asking people to submit an anonymous survey of their votes, but she acknowledged few takers thus far.

I guess what really matters

Are the votes being counted by diebold machines. Simply put. If they are we are done. It is really sad that this is what it comes down to, but it seems all the effort will do nothing to get the vote if the machines are tampered with. I think it was obvious from the beginning the only way we could lose is vote fraud.

Why is the NH recount crap more popular today on DailyPaul than the damned Primary in Michigan??????? Recount blah, I want information on an actual vote going on.

"It does not take a majority to prevail. But rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." ~Samuel Adams while plotting the Boston Tea Party.

Polls are open until 8pm eastern.

to answer the question below.

Did the word get out

around MI about the UAW supporting Ron? That would be powerful even for the dems to vote for RP, don't you think? Did that statement get any press?

Mathew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Wasn't the UAW in whole supporting Ron...

it was some UAW members who had the rally for Dr. Paul. I am not sure how the media covered it, I honestly didn't have the TV on at all yesterday. I did link the email about the rally to some of the local media though as I'm sure others did.

You would never get the UAW as an organization to back Ron, they are the type to cut off their nose to spite their face. But alot of members are starting to think about things on their own instead of just toeing what ever line the union tells them to.

UAW poll

I remember hearing several months ago that one the UAW took a poll amongst their workers and Paul won on the Republican side (I think Obama won the democrat side, but I don't remember exactly).
This wasn't an open poll so outside supporters couldn't crash it like we normally do. :)

What time

What time are the polls open until?

Mathew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

My precinct

only had 37 total voters when I was there at 10am ,the roads are pretty bad and there are Ron Paul signs everywhere . The lady at the polling center told me to take off my Ron Paul pin which was kind of weird ,so I asked her if she wanted me to remove my shirt too (which is a hell of a lot bigger than a pin) but she said that wouldn't be necessary .........

I don't understand...

...does one somehow forfeit one's 1st Amendment Right to free speech when entering the polling place?

"In questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution." -- Thomas Jefferson

Hey genius

You can't campaign within so many feet of a polling place. It's a law so you don't intimidate and strategically drive away voters. I was afraid some polling places might use that to turn away uninformed Ron Paul voters--who knew there was such a thing?

The point of the law is to

The point of the law is to prevent people in positions of power from biasing the vote. Imagine a scenario where candidates send thugs to the polls to intimidate people into voting one way or another.

the reason behind

The polling places are supposed to be completely neutral. No one should feel coerced in any way or adverstised to, while in the voting place. I actually think it is a good idea. Anonymous votes are important.

It's law here too

in SC, you can't wear or carry anything supporting a particular candidate.

Mathew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Low means good....

if all the people who say they are going to vote Ron Paul get out and vote the lower the number of overall voters the better.

Turnout was already expected to be on the low side because of the situation with no candidates except Hillary on the Dem ballot, and we got some snow overnight (heavier in the rural areas that are to the north and west) with light snow expected all day and temperatures in the 20's.
