Submitted by free.king on Sat, 10/27/2012 - 19:59This writer brilliantly, articulately and Biblically defines the pure Essence and beauty of Libertarianism.
The embodiment of the Ron Paul platform,
Whether you are Christian or not, this could change your paradigm for good, forever!

Sunday School
I certainly had my libertarian views well-solidified by the life of Jesus by what I learned in Sunday school as a child.
He didn't go around saying government should put people in jail for anything, not even murder or theft. He advocated forgiveness.
He didn't go around suggesting government ordered dress codes, or burning books, or treating people who are different, differently. He made one of those heathen Samaritans the hero of a parable (rather than a Jew or a bureaucrat).
He was all about the individual, and that included the women and children, the poor and the sick, and their motivations.
He defined for me what strength is, and demonstrated that it is not built by subjugating others, but by having the inner wisdom to accept them and lift them up by example.
What do you think? http://consequeries.com/
I did not read the entire article yet but....
The article is incorrect in stating that the government found Jesus a threat and had him put to death.
It was the Jews who hated Christ!
It was the Pharisees and the High Priest who hated Jesus and urged the people to shout "crucify Him".
Pilate himself said " I find no fault in him" and wanted Jesus released. He tried 3 times to change the mind of the Jews but failed.
It was NOT government that had Him put to death, but rather the Jews, and this was according to Scripture "He came unto His own, and His own received Him not".
Many other verses apply.
Also, this statement is totally false :
"Second, according to the Bible, it makes a difference as to when Jesus's Second Coming will occur depending on our actions in being able to raise the awareness of the world's population."
God has appointed a day for Christ's return and NOTHING can alter or change that! NOTHING!
One last point, The "liberty that Christ spoke of was not, and is not the liberty that everyday people see as "freedom and liberty" (civil liberties)to go about and do or speak as free men and women, but rather freedom and "liberty" from the bondage of our sins that condemned us, but we who are His are now free from bondage of sin, through His atonement and shedding of His blood on the cross and bearing all our sins and transgressions as spoken of in the book of Isaiah and many other portions of Scripture.
This is the truth and message of the Bible, and when you come to know and believe that Truth, and repent of your sins, and live that Truth, the Truth will indeed set you free!
That "Truth" is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ!
Praise the Lord!
Peace
" In Thee O Lord do I put my trust " ~ Psalm 31:1~
Not sure if it's relevant
but although the Jews called for his execution, it's important to note that Jesus committed suicide. As He said, he laid down his life willingly.
I haven't read the article yet, but you're absolutely right about the day being appointed and not within our power at all.
As far as freedom and liberty as referenced in the Bible, I do think that many references are speaking of libertarianism. I've found in my life that libertarianism is a necessary part of obeying the first commandment handed to Moses as well as the greatest commandment passed to us by Jesus. I don't submit to the powers of human authority who pretend to be higher than God.
Michael Nystrom's fists can punch through FUD.
Jesus did NOT commit suicide!
Jesus Christ came as the sacrificial "Lamb of God" who died for the sins of His people!
Your statement about suicide could not be further from the truth!
To "give" your life, so that another can live is NOT suicide, but "Love"
You may "think" that the Bible speaks of "libertarianism" but it does not.
The message of the Bible is that this life is temporary, and the life to come is eternal, and therefore, whatever your circumstances and condition of your life and surroundings, you are to seek that which is MOST important and eternal, and live for the Lord and according to the truth of His Word given to all mankind.
The message is to seek forgiveness of your sins by faith in Christ lest you perish in them!
Time is very short, eternity is not!

I will try to comment later
When I have more time.
