Ron Paul Is Dropped Down the Memory Hole by the Media -- TOO LATE!

In my previous post, I discussed the media's strategy, initiated by Fox News. I said it was representative of the next stage: the memory hole. The blackout would begin.

http://www.garynorth.com/public/2928.cfm

I have watched ABC News since then. There has been not a sign of Ron Paul -- not even a reference to his last-place finish in New Hampshire. Had he gained just a few more registered votes, he would have beated Giuliani. That would have forced the media to mention him.

Here is an anti-war libertarian getting 8% of the Republican votes, yet not one word from the mainstream media.

Was there vote fraud? That's what it looks like.

Shades of the evidence of vote fraud in his bid for re-election in 1976, where 135 votes out of 180,000 the other way would have won.

The media are too late. The toothpaste is out of the tube. There is too much money in his campaign kitty. The digital data bases are too large. A new political force has been unleashed.

We will see if his campaign can shift gears from national politics to local after the Republican National Convention. If it does, the political world could be be different in a decade -- if his supporters are committed to an invisible campaign of precinct politics. For this, the correct flight plan is "under the radar."

My views on his campaign have not changed. Here is what I wrote before. This is not about the Presidency in 2008. It is about laying the foundations of a new grass roots political movement.

Except for Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan, no one since the formation of the Council on Foreign Relations in 1921 has gotten the nomination for President by the two major parties who was not screened first by the CFR. Goldwater came out of nowhere. Goldwater's mailing list became the basis of Richard Viguerie's creation on the New Right after 1965. Nobody else wanted the list in 1965. Nobody else saw what it could mean. That data base led to Reagan's nomination, which could not be stopped by the Establishment. He took George H. W. Bush as his running mate, contrary to what he had promised his supporters publicly, and the media stayed neutral in 1980.

The media would not stay neutral with respect to Ron Paul if he gets the nomination.

The media would prefer the blackout, if possible. If he stays in last place, primary by primary, this tactic will be widely adopted. But, as with Matt Drudge's revelation of Newsweek's spiking of the Lewinsky story in 1998, it's too late. Word got out. Money came in. Lots of money.

It is now up to Dr. Paul to move from his data base to grass roots training.
If his supporters are in this for the long haul, laboring in the shadows for no applause, they can begin to re-shape local politics. This is what decentralization is all about. Supporters can sign up for precinct work now.

https://voters.ronpaul2008.com/grassroots

Once signed up, you should stay for the next ten years. Or 15. This is not about money. It's about commitment. It's about putting your hand to the plow and not looking back.

The media will not report any of this. The media will not even notice. The 2008 Ron Paul campaign will be ancient history. "Ron who?" This is good. Silence from now on is golden.

I think of B'rer Rabbit's plea to B'rer Fox. "Please don't throw me in that briar patch."

"Please don't throw Dr. Paul down the memory hole."

B'rer Fox did it.

Stupid B'rer Fox

Welcome to the long process

Welcome to the long process of collective awakening. We have to be realistic about human nature. The American population has been in a systematic (like the movie The Truman Show) conditioning and deep hypnosis combined with relentless "issue framing" and public relations campaigns.... not to mention powerful programming of schoolkids... OK... think for a minute about this.... a kid who doesn't immediately fit in or play exactly by the book is "framed" as a disruptive element and can be required to take a behavior/thought process altering chemicals (yes, virginia, we are a drug culture all the way through, we just change the definition of what a good drug is once a generation).... because the pharmaceutical lobbies and the political establishment are pleased with this outcome.... excess mental energy or non-conformity aren't virtues or signs of someone who wants to think outside of the box, they are conveniently framed in negative, pejorative terms... so Billy has to take his Ritalin, or else... by the time Billy graduates, he won't remember what it was like to think anything unusual or not-with-the-program, his first impulse will be to see a psychiatrist for a prescription for a medicine that helps him turn down his questioning mind, and he will be socialized to beleive that any sort of unconventional ideas are morally wrong.... for example... anybody here remember the Duke University case whre 4 Lacrosse players came within a hair of being railroaded on a rape case that completely evaporated when Mike Nifong was exposed as a corrupt prosecutor.... who was working WITH the collusion of the Duke University faculty ? Those same sacks of shit who blather about their academic rights and freedoms have never apologised or shown any remorse. Why ? Because they feel that mind control and behavioral indoctrination and "mental castration" are a social virtue....

Hasn't this always been the plan?

I thought thats what this was all about. Every dollar, every vote gives creedence to the message. When the republicans get trounced they will have to realize that a big goverment message is a huge turn off.

Wow guys are we that thin

Wow guys are we that thin skinned and weak? We have to understand that we are in a huge fight and a lifelong battle to preserve our freedom and liberty. We are up against trillions of dollars and the power of the global elite. Do you think this fight is going to be easy? This fight is above Ron Paul. We rave about how we are able to raise money with no top-down centralization but the free will of people but we make this fight about Ron Paul. It is about the ideas of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Anyone who watched the fox news debate should know how scared the system is. Why? Because of consecutive 5th place finishes in the the systems that they control? No No No. It is the ideas they are scared of.

As long as I have been able to vote it was a Republican thing. I was a "Great American" and listened to Hannity 3 hours a day every day. When I first saw Rudy and Paul get into back in what July, I looked into Ron Paul. Since then I have learned a ton about Austrian Economics, real Foreign Policy and constitutional liberties. It makes me want to puke what I was fed. But do you ever, ever think I could go back to seeing the world and our government the same? All my family, my wife, my parents, my 2 brothers and sisters and many of my friends will never be able to take part in a corrupt system again. I believe this is the scary part to the elite class. I don't want more security I want more freedom, freedom from them interfering in my family and you know what I am ready to spend my life in that fight. My money, my time and my life if it comes to that will be to live as a free person and not as a slave. Nothing will ever change that.

This movement may take 10 or 20 years but it is above and beyond Ron Paul. One person at a time we are making a army, one dollar at a time our government is heading towards bankruptcy and a day of reckoning with the people who have been foolishy misled.

Keep your head up and keep on fighting no matter what comes.

Thanks to Chick Deney!

Thank you for this excerpt! Excellent...my favorite line--"...minds were trained to hold contradictory positions simultaneously and unquestioningly..." Is this not so true today? I think this is exactly where Dr. Paul nees to hammer (and I mean HAMMER) his opponents--their insane policies that derive from holding contradictory positions. In the context of a "debate", I think Dr. Paul needs to lay out how he will answer questions designed to make his positions look foolish and turn them back on the "correspondent" and the real fools with whom he shares the stage. He did this in South Carolina when he turned the question back on Carl Cameron. He needs to keep doing that!

For example, when he gets a question about ending the Iraq War, he could begin by "clarifying" premises like this: "Before I answer the question, I just want to clarify the fundamental premise that underlies your question and informs the position of all of my opponents. That is the self-evident contradictory idea that the United States, while violating its own Constitution and international law, can with impunity invade a country which did not attack us or declare war against us in order to bring democracy and the rule of law to that country. Is that correct? Ok, let me answer your question."

I think the good doctor has to verbally smash these people in his own inimitable and gentlemanly way--but make them squirm he must and these contradictory and self-destructive positions must be exposed for the insane ideas that they are!

Am I off base here? Out in left field?

Are you EVER RIGHT!

off base? hardly.

You've seen as I have that when our good doctor does that he SHINES!!!

O'l' Ayn Rand used to say "Check your premises".

Still good advice.

9/11 Truth.

An astute analysis.

The media collectively acted. Paul is gone, down that hole you describe. It was fascinating to watch. The only way they were going to give him continuing time was a strong showing in NH. Even if they don't like you, they love the upstart underdog story more.

We didn't get that bump. Instead we became a sort of loud spectacle which failed to translate into votes. Obviously, NHQ shares a good amount of blame on lack of effective strategy (the Ron Paul freedom train or something like that, Paul should have been pressing hands in every hamlet, not just appearing in organized events). I've read here that he didn't even spend that much time in the state. I cannot attest to that, but perhaps that's true. If so, there simply is no excuse.

Anyway, the combinaton of a nothing show in NH and the racism smear was sufficient for MSM to disappear Dr. Paul.

The only possibility of a return is an off-the-radar surprise strong showing (2nd place) or even a victory somewhere before super Tuesday, but I'm not seeing it.

i agree

this is turning into a war of attrition. if huckabee wins one, then mccain, then romney etc. If paul can win one, the race changes. lets hope for a victory in nevada....

In For The LONG Haul?

Yes, no matter how long it takes. I believe what we are doing is much bigger than the 2008 presidency. And if Ron doesn't get the nomination, I'm not going anywhere. I want me freedom back, and have no intention of quitting. What will you do?

My suggestion: make sure you are signed-up as a volunteer at www.ronpaul2008.com. Do you think the good Doctor will just "throw-in-the-towel" and retire? No way. That's absurd. He's worked for constitutionally limited government, freedom and liberty his entire life. The truth is, loosing the nomination could be the best thing that happens to this revolution at this point in time. If he does loose, Ron will stay alive, the revolution will continue, he'll provide the educational leadership and direction we need. Our movement will continue to grow and flourish.

I believe Ernie Hancock has it right: "This IS a Revolution".

Read this excerpt from a Lew Rockwell article: http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig8/huff2.html
"Remember we don't need a majority to prevail. It almost never works that way. In politics a tiny margin can make all the difference. Don't worry that everyone is not convinced that America needs to return to her roots. That didn't even happen in 1776 or 1789. We will always have Tories and Hamiltonian Whigs, not to mention NEOCONs, with which to contend. It is human nature to strive for ill-gotten gains from political advantage. There are always those who think they are born to lord it over others. The fight goes on until Kingdom come. Begin to think through winning the next election. Plan to be a citizen educator for the rest of your life – and beyond. Leave a legacy of students behind who will be able to carry on."

David Cameron

Long Haul Indeed!

I also believe this is a true revolution. If this were a majority type movement I would be suspect.

I am in this revolution for the long haul ... for the rest of my life ... it's only just beginning!

Getting zero attention really does not help us here at all. I'm not sure just what can be done at a local level.

If we are talking about ending the Central Bank profiteering Monopoly, stopping barbaric Military voyeurism, and ending the IRS, at some point then these have to be National issues and put on the National radar screen.

Ron Paul does need National validation and exposure for his ideas. Whoever succeeds his effort, will need to be seen as carrying the Ron Paul banner and moving it forward even more. If Paul is just ignored, they will ignore the next guy that comes along too.

You can't really change anything from outside the system. What is needed is another President like John Kennedy again, who has the courage to stand up against the system once in office. Kennedy did not campaign against the Fed or the CIA or Vietnam or campaign for Nuclear Arms Treaties. But he did have a detailed knowledge of U.S. History, and once in office, he had an 'epiphany' of sorts when confronted with the Cuban Missile Crisis, and he then sought out to forge big, big changes afterward.

The job is much easier if these issues (Fed/War/IRS) are recognized and understood on a National level.

You would be amazed at the

You would be amazed at the number of people I talk to who are very attuned to this message... sorts of people you would never expect... in jobs and walks of life that you would not assume to have the sophistication to get what is happening... they don't attribute it to the Paul movement usually... the great surprise is how well they understand... the truth appear to be that "the word" is getting around both fast and very broadly through the population... it is a true underground movement of ideas that is totally circumventing the MSM Doublethink Memoryhole...
It is more like a pressure cooker that gives the impression of being cooled down because the steam valve has benn plugged, when actually it is near to rupturing the gasket...

Ignorance Prevails Until You Educate

Just reversing major network propaganda to friends and strangers goes along way.

Last week, I asked four long-time bank employees I know, who owned the Federal Reserve Banks and all of them told what most everyone else tells me; the U.S. Government. Haha.

Teach a little about the fact that we pay private bankers interest on the money that is printed for the U.S. Government. This pisses people off, especially when you tie it into our unsecured borders.

Then tell people that most of top 10 U.S. Defense contractors, who's government contracts constitute over 50% of their business, averaged over $1.0 billion in net profit for 2006.

A little truthful knowledge grows exponentially.

Hold the line.

Thompson cannot last, possibly Giuliani as well. Ron Paul should move into the mix purely through attrition.
He will be impossible to ignore.
Vive la revolution!
Go Ron Paul.

grassroots Campaign and MOVEMENT

A Grassroots movement (often referenced in the context of a political movement) is one driven by the constituents of a community. The term implies that the creation of the movement and the group supporting it is natural and spontaneous, highlighting the differences between this and a movement that is orchestrated by traditional power structures. Often, grassroots movements are at the local level, as many volunteers in the community give their time to support the local party, which can lead to helping the national party. For instance, a grassroots movement can lead to significant voter registration for a political party, which in turn helps the state and national parties.

I'm just glad you guys have

I'm just glad you guys have read "1984". I just read it a month ago and I am telling everyone to read it. The parallels to today are so numerous, that I wonder if Orwell was more of a prophet than an author....or maybe, Big Brother is using it as a playbook of sorts....

Or Maybe.....

Orwell was on the inside, and just exposed the plan that had been laid out for years.

This is correct

The only way to win wether Dr. Paul gets the nomination or not, is to go underground and take over the Republicamn party over the next decade.

Who Controls The Past Controlls The Future !

"Oceania was at war with Eurasia now, but just four years ago, these two had formed an alliance against Eastasia. Winston remembered this clearly, but it made no difference what he or any other individual remembered, for the Party said that Eurasia had always been the Enemy and what the Party said was the Truth. This, thought Winston, was the most frightening aspect of the party regime-that it could obliterate memory, turn lies into Truth and alter the Past. The Party slogan was “Who controls the past controls the future; who controls the present controls the past.” This was where “doublethink” came into play, minds were trained to hold contradictory positions simultaneously and unquestioningly- for example you had to believe at one and the same time that Democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy. Winston could remember a time when the Party did not rule, when Big Brother had not become all-powerful; but according to the Party they had always existed and this lie was repeated ad infinitum until it “became” the truth. This, Winston thought was a far more terrible weapon in the hands of the Party than torture or execution.
While he was lost in his thoughts, Winston’s body had been performing the exercises routinely. Now he is suddenly startled out of his reverie by the instructress from the telescreen addressing him directly. Shouting at him as “6079 Smith W” the woman tells him to pay more attention and recalls him to the regimented present where each man is a coded number and the telescreens spy on every activity."

working on a site now

We're working on a site now that catalogues all the candidates from borough, township, city, county, state, federal and the current bills ready to pass.

We're going to expose the candidates 1) ownership (who pays their bills)
2) Skeletons (what scandals are they involved in) 3) Issues (where they stand on the issues) 4) Records (How their record stacks against their platform)

Once we're done with our local area we'll open it up for others to add pages.

This will be fantastic!

This will be fantastic! Thanks in advance! I will love to look at that site..
