Richard Tisei is running for the US House of Representatives - Massachusetts, 6th district

Rand Paul predicted long ago that adopting libertarian positions could help the GOP in parts of New England where they have previously not done very well. Massachusetts has not had a GOP US congressman (in either houses) for decades.

Richard Tisei supports gay marriage, opposes the Patriot Act, supports medicinal marijuana (and has said he's open to full legalization), describes himself as a libertarian, has voted against tax increases and supported tax cuts while in the state legislature.

He is polling 6-12 points ahead of his Democratic opponent, according to polls.

If you are in Massachusetts and live in his congressional district, he may be a good option.

It is not true that he has

It is not true that he has opposed tax increases. He was the only State Senate Republican to vote against the tax rollback in 2000. He voted against several bills to lower taxes which outraged the Citizens for Limited Taxation.

For those who are pro-life, he is 100% pro-abortion.

He advocates involving the courts in furthering a militant homosexual agenda, even in our public schools. He is against letting the people vote on these issues, which hardly seems libertarian to me. He is for forcing businesses to hire transgender workers - so much for freedom of association.

Not a good choice for the libertarian minded, and especially not for the pro-family minded.
