Answer: Diebolt because they rig, I mean count, the votes. They may increase the vote count to make it closer to 5%, something like 4.9%, which would still mean nothing in terms of no money given for the next election. Unfortunately, that is how this corrupt system works.

It'd be a friggin shame if we can't crack 5% acting together. If we can't, the major parties will continue to ignore us. If we can top 5%, it gives us a different party to rally under if we so choose.

If the GOP wins, and the Libertarian party does not break 5%, it gives the GOP total license to ignore us completely. This would be the worst case scenario.

Even if the GOP loses, and we don't top 5% in the Libertarian party, it means we're stuck working within the GOP with all their new top-down rules and blatant corruption.

At least if the Libertarian party tops 5%, it gives us a credible, alternate party to work from instead of putting all our eggs into the GOP basket.
