A Liberal DEFENDS Ron Paul!!!Submitted by BleuCream013 on Tue, 01/15/2008 - 14:20
As a Constitutionalist, and someone who is a fiscal conservative, but socially libertarian with lasez-faire progressive streak, I've been dismayed to watch, over many years, those who profess to be liberals and progressives, unfortunately, reveal themselves to be some of the most biased people I've ever met. They also suffer from the neoCONs' delusion of I'm on the right side, I'm the good guy, so we can do no wrong-attitude. When a person tends to see things in absolutes, moral relativism, my side vs. others-attitude, no one is immune from seeing themselves as morally superior, no matter what.
SO it was pleasant to see, finally, a liberal who actually put the TNR SmearBund in proper perspective. Finally, a liberal gives proper context and history of the TNR owner Peretz, editors Sullivan and Kirchick. TNR, despite calling themselves the leading liberal rag, since 1950's they have become overtly neoCON and pro-military industrial complex. DEFINITELY NOT liberal. Well, at least, what is publicly known to be "liberal." Of course, those who've studied history knows you cannot have neo-liberalism without the military industrial complex. Guns and butter, Warfare-Welfare state always go hand in hand.
Dennis Perrin of Huffington Post, comes to DEFEND Ron Paul.
Yes, and Dennis Perrin hit the nail right on the head. Most liberals' and Dems' problem is seeing past Israel and knee-jerk fear of "anti-semite" label, anytime anyone criticizes Israel's policies. Just ask fmr. Pres. Jimmy Carter. TNR was the first to call for recalling his new book off the book shelves. Besides, anyone who cannot see a scam in a liberal rag fully endorsing Rudy Goonliani for Pres, have got a mile thick blinders on. I feel worse for those who stupidly shelled out money to subscribe to this toilet paper of yellow journalism.
Just like neoCONs constant doublespeak of "support the troops" to question patriotism and move the debate away from academic intellectualism and critical thinking to emotional blabber. It's adult vs. child debate. That's where these morons and their MSM minions have driven the American political debate to. Thank God, that Ron Paul has been able to inject badly needed adult, critical thinking and intellectualism BACK into the field.
Putting the knee jerk political correctness, warfare-welfare state, seeing the larger picture, and overall, priority and putting things in perspective. Couldn't have said it better myself.
Do liberals realize that Clinton is the one who put the NSA-FBI wiretaps into place into a law in 1996, where telecoms were REQUIRED by LAW to make new technology FBI-wire-tappable. Otherwise FCC would not approve renew licenses. Clinton is the one who expanded the private prisons. In a specific case, in California, some $200 million of federal educational fund were instead wasted on corporate welfare to pay off his private prison building contracts and lobby. How's that for racism? Under Clinton and his drug policies, 3strikes laws paved the rationale for more prison building, after all if you're arrested three times for literally only stealing some candies from a store, you gotta be able to house those violent candy-stealing thugs, somewhere, no?
Of course, the military industrial complex only happens under GOP, eh? neoCONs know NO bounds. It's been a 100+ yr project. But some are finally waking up, and educating their own. More power to them. Bravo!
